FITH needs much more than a "refreshening" -- in fact it is to the point where the ride is going to have to go down for a major reahaul in the not so distant future. The structure is basically rotting itself from the inside out. It will be interesting to see how the park handles this, because like was mentioned above - the ride has a cult like following

The park is continuing to offer new things with the Dinos - Dinos After Dark, Donuts with Dinos, Dino Campouts, etc. There will be two new scenes next year with new dinosaurs. The exhibit is not going anywhere anytime soon -

Looks like WOF is getting some new dinosaurs in Dinosaurs Alive. Also good to hear that the Skeleton Key rooms and Club Blood are going to be redone for 2015 This is according to the park presentations that took place at Coaster Christmas http://www.midwestinfoguide.com/ace/coasterchristmas/2014/ -

it hasn't been confirmed but it probably is from dorney since they got rid of there swan boats a year ago and cedar fair loves relocating rides since it saves money. It's been confirmed - maybe not in a presser, but it has been confirmed by the park They boats are going in the lake where the paddle canoes were in OOF -

I am assuming you are just trolling because no one can seriously be that stupid. I'm just going to cherry pick KI out of your argument because it is the only one you mentioned that is in the chain (and therefore the only one that has any merit in this conversation). KI did massive infrastructure upgrades in the areas that received Diamond Back and Banshee the year immediately before those coasters were added. WOF did the same thing with Patriot. Carowinds is doing the same thing with Fury. Canada's Wonderland did the same thing with Behemoth and Leviathan. Cedar Point did the same thing with Gate Keeper. I think you are focusing solely on us saying that the new coaster is not coming on your timeline. It IS coming but the park has things that they HAVE to address before it comes. -

Oh you told us. Forgive us older posters who can get into Rated R movies without a parent for having a little more insight into the industry and how things work. We're not purposely trying to rain on your fan boy parades - just trying to help you keep a level headed expectations for the park. -

FTFY I realize you are young and do not realize how a business works. You have to have the facilities to manage larger crowds that a larger cap would bring in - at this point in the game, Valleyfair does not have that. IF you build a large cap coaster before said improvements are made, then the crowds will end up being a flash in the dark for a season or two and then will drop back to where they were before making the ROI non-existent and will make the next large cap take that much longer to appear. Not what enthusiasts want to hear as they would love their park to do the Six Flags Worlds of Adventure (Ohio) expansion model where 2-3 coasters are added every year. We all know where that got Geauga Lake. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this is Valleyfair, not Cedar Point. You don't NEED a new coaster at this time. You will get one in the near future but it is not NEEDED like some of you younger fan boys keep spouting off. -

DO you even read other people's posts before posting? Most of those are NOT general improvements that can be done during the off season. Fact of the matter, the infrastructure at VF is not ready for a major cap rollercoaster at this time and the crowds that it would bring in. -

Not sure if you are being serious here, but in case you are - the #1 need is not a rollercoaster at this time. A list of needs in no specific order. 1. Upgraded restrooms 2. Expanded (beyond what is even being added for 2015) waterpark 3. Modern flat rides. 4. Expanded menu options (up to and including another sit down restaurant) 5. More efficient workers in food services. 6. Better guest flow in major corridors (some has been taken care of already) 7. Removal of "dead" areas of the park and/or unused facilities. -

You must be a major water park fan-boy if you think that VF does not need a new coaster and needs more water park expansions. VF received Breakers Bay in 2009 and now Breakers Pipeline, Breakers Plunge and Barefoot Beach for the Soak city Expansion in 2015. The park has not had a new coaster since 2007 and no new coaster inversions since 1980. It needs a new coaster as soon as possible. The park may get a waterpark expansion in 2016 (I doubt it though, why wait and have another year of cost increases instead of doing it all in 2015?) but saying the park does not need a new coaster is just foolish. Not "getting" a new coaster in a certain amount of time does not constitute "needing" a coaster. Not being a fan boy of this park, but being familiar with the guest traffic patterns at the park it does not take a rocket scientist to see where the needs of the park are. The waterpark is grossly undersized and needs additional capacity in the form of more attractions. The new slide tower will help some but at the same time, it will bring in more guests to the waterpark and in turn multiplies an already existing problem. The park itself has a decent collection of coasters already. While a new one would be nice, there are greater needs that should be fulfilled before a coaster is brought in. For one thing, the infrastructure really needs to be looked out. There are no sit-down restaurants to speak of (or just one if you count Chickie's and Pete's). The restrooms need to be upgraded. Not to mention several areas that need better traffic flow. If you are going to spend the money on a large capital coaster, you need to make sure you park can handle the crowds that it would bring in. Right now, it can't. -

Until I see something that proves other wise - I fully expect 2016 to be continued expansion of the waterpark. Sorry, a new coaster is just not needed right now. The needs to continue to expand the waterpark, especially now with the news of MOA planning to add a large indoor one in the near future. -

Wrong. This was in response to a member who was stating that any new coaster would be a STANDARD B&M coaster WITHOUT GIMMICKS -- AS IN A LAUNCH. Which is what numerous younger posters were foaming at the mouth about earlier. If and when WOF gets their next coaster it will contain a standard chain lift. -

The safest bet would be a traditional B&M coaster without any gimmicks - such as a standard floorless or wing coaster. There will be no launch and you can expect 4-5 inversions. I love to speculate with the best of them, but let's not be completely ridiculous. I've been with this park long enough to know how things work -- AND if you think that a coaster will appear before 2017 then you will be disappointed. 2016 is basically a done deal already and it does not include a coaster -

Kind of a hit and miss on Friday nights. The lines will never be to the levels that they would be on a Saturday. The one thing that you will need to realize is that the amount of screamsters in the mazes and scare zones will be greatly reduced -- so you will not have the "full experience" like you would on a Saturday.
