I understand. But I think when he stressed keeping the 9 and adding, he was saying this is coming from Six Flags (over all) not just him. I can see the company wanting to keep the name "Coaster Capital". He did state most of theses "ideas" are from "big corporate" meetings, not just his own. Guess I should have stated that above. -

I had the pleasure of meeting the park manager yesterday, Dave! He is a very nice man! I was able to ask some question about the future of the park and though a couple of his answers were not quite direct (most were), here is what I deduced from our conversation..... The Boss has been under heavy consideration for a RMC re-tracking for awhile. After much consideration of the cost being around $14-$15 million, he would rather spend $1-$2 million replacing the cars (getting more up to date cars similar to what American Thunder has) and maybe lifting the first drop 10-20 feet and spending the rest on an actual new coaster. Lifting the drop, he claims, will not only spend up the ride but give it the extra momentum needed so the ride can operate in the colder weather. Due to the terrain the Boss is built on now with the current lift, in cold weather the trains stop half way in between the ride! I already knew the park owns 503 acres of land currently using just 285 acres. Dave said he would rather expand the park, keeping the current 9 coasters ( and he stressed KEEPING the 9) and add something new. He wants Six Flags St. Louis to keep the title as "Missouri's Coaster Capital"! He also said, we would NOT be getting a giga/mega-coaster. Though it has been considered, with the price tag, Six Flags (over all) has to invest big were there is a market. Chicago, LA....etc....have a market of over 25 million while ours is more like 3-4 million.... So, though he didn't say for SURE we are getting a new coaster, I can read in between the lines. If Six Flags was/is giving our park $15 million to re-track the Boss, this can only mean the Boss will get the new cars and something new will be coming real soon to our park! I'm thinking maybe a euro-coaster or maybe a winged! We also talked a bit about the Justice League ride. He claims there are still some awesome details that haven't been releases/discussed! This is truly going to be a one-of-a-kind unique ride!! -

Freight Fest is usually crowded but I think this past weekend was extra, extra crowded because of the nice weather. My family and I usually do Freight Fest on Sundays. Generally not as crowded as Saturdays. Yes, you're daughter can wear her costume but no masks. My boys wore theirs yesterday. There is usually Trick-or-treating but on certain days. They have the story telling in the Miss Kitty Solon theater and give out candy bags to kids 12 and under. The dining passes are most defiantly worth getting especially if you go often like we do! There is 7 of us but usually it's just my 3 younger boys and I that go. Husband works a lot of weekend and my two older kids (have their own car) typically do their own thing with friends. My daughter/son buy their own dining passes/meals. I have 2 passes for the four of us and it feeds us every time! Being just 3 of you, 2 dining passes is all you will probably need. As far as the forth season pass....I don't see why it won't work since kids don't have to scan their finger prints! Clever idea..... -

^^^^Agree^^^^ Train ride is not worth the wait!! -
It is still fun, but it has those moments that scream "Ibuprofen"! Maybe cause I'm getting older...lol But I REALLY want to see the Iron Horse treatment (or at least some topper tracks) put on! I've heard strong rumors of this happening but I've also heard the rumors are "dying" off. Just wondering what everyone else is hearing!

So I have a question.....as I "research" more on topper track systems by RMC, I notice the coasters are wood (of course) but with metal pieces (if you will) through-out the ride supporting the wood...and I don't mean the topper track itself....I know it's metal. I've notice a lot of these similar metal pieces "popping-up" on the Boss. Maybe I'm jumping the gun again, but does anyone think this WILL lead to an Iron Boss if not 2016 then in 2017???? And again, maybe I am getting my hopes up high, but it's been a minute since we seen this much excitement surrounding Six Flags St. Louis! I am glad to see the company spending some real $$$$ on our park even if it is a dark ride and not a coaster! -

Exactly what I was thinking... the topper track in itself would be a great improvement. Agreed, it would be a great improvement! -

Could it be possible the Boss will get the Topper track instead of the IBOX treatment? Wouldn't this "make-over" be less expensive w/o changing the layout of the current tracks? -

Where did you hear that? It was on another forum about coasters receiving RMC treatment. Will try to find it again and post.... Copy of the link to the forum...but copy and past into a new window. It doesn't seem to work if you click directly in link below. http://www.negative-g.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5053 -

Where did you hear that? I actually believe I've posted that here sometime in 2013 as well. Either way, if the Iron Boss was announced for 2016, I would be in utter shock. The issue with the length is just the price tag of the transformation, and whether or not it's worth having to tear out part of the ride or something. OK...but I saw on a different forum (and a very recent post). Will try to find again... My daughter worked at SFSTL, and there were rumors of an Iron Boss! But if not an Iron Boss, I sure hope we get something (coaster wise) new and fun! SFSTL has a lot of "extra" land they could use.... But we are still excited about the Justice League ride as well. -

Any more rumors of the Boss getting the Iron Horse/RMC treatment? I mostly hear "yea" but I saw a post (on a different site) that claims Dave said the ride is too long! Hope that post isn't true!!! -

Even if so, still be thankful for what you have! A lesson I teach my kids. It's always easy to criticize but we forget, things could be worse. There are many cities (for instance, we have season passes and meet people all the time from Memphis) who would love just to have something called an amusement park.....where they don't have to drive out-of-town to experience! I want more improvements too but I still patronize and my little ones love it there! -

Awesome! After the huge disappointment of Boomerang, it's good to see SF has stepped up their offerings the last couple of years. Tsunami Soaker is great fun, and I'm really looking forward to Justice League as well. Sally did a tremendous job with Scooby Doo, and I can't wait to see what they can do next with new technology. I do have one concern, though, and that's if the 3D glasses will be optional. My 3-year-old got to ride Scooby Doo twice this year and loved it, but she's not old enough for 3D yet. The older two will be fine with 3D, but it'd be great if we could all ride it as a family like we did with Scooby Doo. LOL on the Boomerang. But my 8 year old loves it! As far as the 3-D glasses, I imagine they will have different sized glasses. We've been on a ton of 3-D rides/shows over the past few years and my son (now 6 years old) has always done fine with the glasses. -

lmao we even got the shaft while getting the shaft! A Scooby Doo overhaul is way better then those 360 Looping Coaster 3 other parks are getting (really??), so... not-so-much the shaft this year. A RMC Iron Boss better be coming soon!!! You are so right! I rather have this Justice League ride verses the looping coasters some are getting! But from my understanding now, we will have the multi-DOF cars. And as far as the re-tracking of the Boss...I hope you are right! -

I KNOW!!!, i just b!tched and moaned on my last post too LOL. I dont get why not, no sense in questioning Six Flags' wonderful mindset though, its like trying to figure out women. Hey, I'm a woman! LOL!! But anyway, when you go to the website under news release for SFSTL, it states that there will be multi-DOF cars and it is not just specific to Texas! So I'm confused, are we or are we not getting the rotating cars! I really hope we do!!! One thing I've noticed about SFSTL website, they don't "advertise" (if you will...give great details) like many of the other SF pages do! -
