  1. I guess if your pass is up for renewal, renew today... Premium $649 --> $669 +$20 Deluxe $469 --> $499 +$30 So Cal $329 --> $359 +$30 So Cal Select $269 --> $279 +$10 Parking $129 --> $139 +$10
  2. I worked in the entrance area during the time they had this gate and I can tell you, it was RARELY used. Probably around 1 to 5 tickets sold in a day. But again, like you said, HH wasn't free back then with the MM pass. I believe back then, the combo pass was around $150.
  3. A concept art of the Full Throttle Plaza has been released... Also note the bolded underlined in the press release... http://www.multivu.com/mnr/61077-six-flags-magic-mountain-tallest-fastest-looping-coaster-full-throttle
  4. ^Yes Just curious, I know the artists renderings show a train going through the loop at the same time one is going over the tophat. Is this possible? The only way I could think this is possible is if the tunnel has two break zones. One in case the train doesn't make the tophat so it can roll back to the tunnel and the other for the train that makes it through the loop to the tunnel.
  5. Cool picture but all I can think about is how thankful I am that this ride will supposedly not have over the shoulder restraints because that looks like a head banging moment.
  6. ^^ I agree completely. I worked at the park before the Premier days and was a season pass holder long before that and loved the park then and I agree it has gone down hill. I miss those days big time. Please understand the only thing I was defending that started this whole back and forth was someone comparing the construction of Full Throttle to Gate Keeper at CP. Of course CP would be closer to being done, they're not open right now and have free reign to tear the place apart. Heck, Knotts hasn't even had their pieces delivered for their ride...
  7. Batman is such a short ride that packs a huge punch. I can imagine going backwards will be crazy. I hope they put a ton of puke buckets at the exit.
  8. Wow, I apologize for being a "terrible Californian" and I really don't want to get in a back and forth with the both of you because I enjoy the site (thank you for it) and don't like to cause drama. Heck, I have even been to several WCB events, so I have also supported the site. But I was originally asked "Do I ever NOT defend SFMM?" and the truth like I said is Yes but the gripes I have with the park have been posted in here a TON of times (dirty restrooms, themeing, etc) so you don't need me joining the endless batter and I never once tried to defend those gripes. I only defend the park when it gets bashed for stupid things that is typical in the theme park industry which any fan of the park should defend. But it doesn't matter, you're not going to read this post anyways like you two said. I guess just move onto the next post which will probably be something about dirty restrooms, no flat rides or horrible over the shoulder restraints on Revolution.
  9. That makes no sense what so ever! I'm not here to create drama nor am I looking for it. I'm here to follow theme parks which I enjoy, it's just annoying to see this thread be the endless bitch fest about stupid crap that all the other parks do on a daily basis but it's okay because they're not SFMM. Just being truthfull and sticking up for a park that get's crapped on daily on this board.
  10. Of course, I do!!! I just don't do it on this board because you guys feed on bashing SFMM! It's more exciting to be on the opposite side of the fence! I don't disagree that SFMM has ALOT to fix to be perfect, it's just the bashing over little crap that all the other parks do as well gets me all fired up! Complain all you want about how the bathrooms are dirty and the themeing (or lack of) is weird but to complain that they have yet to go vertical on a coaster when CP is almost done is just too much. Besides, Spring Break doesn't seem like the go to opening date anymore, pretty much all SoCal parks (Universal, Knotts, Disney) aim for a early Summer opening since that is probably when most of the crowds start coming to the park. I think they learned it's useless to rush and open for Spring Break when that's only a two to three week crowded period and then they're dead for two months until Summer. Just my two cents...
  11. You can't really compare the construction between the two since SFMM is year around park and has to work around open rides and pathways.
  12. Exactly!!! I probably went on a rant that wasn't necessary. I get that there is a TON of stuff that can be improved at SFMM but it's just annoying to see SFMM get bashed for stuff that the other parks do as well on a continuous basis if not more but since they're the legacy of Knotts and Disney, they don't get bashed for it and it's excused. I'm also surprised to see this and give kuddos to SFMM for being so close in attendance numbers especially when you think of how much Knott's mooches off of Disney's crowd being they're only 10 minutes away and their reliance on the Haunt crowds. With SFMM being an hour from these parks, they're really packing in the attendance.
  13. It really bugs me that SFMM gets crapped on for the same crap other parks pull. You're telling me Knott's and Disney does no wrong? Also, how is Knott's making an effort? This is the park that continuously builds one train rides that have the lowest capacity. I can't tell you how long it's been since I've ridden a Knott's coaster because I won't wait the crazy lines and I went 5+ times last year with not one coaster ridden. Most of their rides can only run one train (Monterzumas, Boomerang and Sierra Sidewinder) and those that can do more (Xcelerator, GR, Jaguar, Silver Bullet and Pony Express) ALWAYS seem to have one in rehab so they end up running one train. One coaster out of 17 runs one train and SFMM is horrible. Ugh...
  14. It's been far worse. I remember the days of '94 and '95 when the parking lot across Feedmill (which was bigger than because a large amount of it fell in the wash during El Nino) was completely full and people were parking on the road leading into the toll gate and down on the Old Road and tram service had to be stopped because the ticket booth lines went all the way to the toll road.
  15. Yes, he tweeted it. We also went to the park for a couple hours yesterday and got our last dole whip. I asked the staff and they confirmed that yesterday was the last day of operation for the "What The Fried?" building and that it will be tore down for Full Throttle. They didn't know if the dole whips will be added elsewhere. Sad to see a building from park opening be torn down but I guess that's the life of adding new rides. I guess that also explains the "temporary" signs that everyone complained about.
  16. Went to the park today, it was crowded and hot. Didn't even ride anything. Just wanted to give everyone the heads up, they're doing a Nissan event where you can test drive a Nissan car and get $15 in Bugs Bunny Bucks that can be used on anything in the park. The funny thing is the process goes as follows: 1) Enter information into a computer 2) Receive a Wristband 3) Go inside a trailer that has fancy demostration computers. 4) Pick the car you want to test drive. 5) Receive you Bunny Bucks 6) Go wait outside until your car is ready to test drive Guess which step we skipped? Once we receive the bunny bucks we went into the park. Skipped the whole test driving. They're foolish, they should give you the bucks AFTER you test drive. Wife and I got $30 to spend in the park...woo hoo!
  17. They sent out an e-mail today with the Fright Fest News. Also there is a bring a friend free special online coupon for Monday the 17th. http://content.sixflags.com/magicmountain/letter/?utm_source=park-newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=SFMM&utm_content=2012-09-12 The website is up... http://frightfest.sixflags.com/magicmountain Here are the descriptions of the three new mazes and that new dining feature:
  18. It seems like the Fright Fest announcement was made via LA Times So it looks like we have 8 mazes this year: Willoughby's Haunted Mansion (Entirely Re-themed) - NEW (Old Magic Pagoda) Black Widow (Spider Themed Maze) - NEW (Old Eagle's Flight Queue - Replaces Bite II) Blackouts (Lights out maze) - NEW (Old Log Jammer Queue - Replaces Warehouse 13) Aftermath (Batman Action Theater) Joker's Hideout (Old Flashback Queue) Chupacabra (Old Revolution Queue) Lecter's Slaughterhouse (Game's Warehouse) Cursed (Tidal Wave Queue)
  19. They need to redo their math! It states a Thrill Pass costs $64.99 and a Gold Pass costs $114.99 a difference of $50. Below that it states... It's actually a $200 value ($50 per pass) They've also brought on the Disney way and brought a full year of monthly payments (I believe they let you split over 3 months last year) but they charge you a small fee each month instead of Disney who does it free.
  20. Full Throttle looks like it will be fun and I'm excited for it, I guess I'm more dissapointed that HH isn't getting new this year. It's been since I believe 2007 when Tornado was installed. It seems that every other HH in the chain has been getting something new but all ours get is a bar last year.
  21. Supposedly this e-mail went out, I haven't gotten it yet. The last paragraph seems interesting. I guess that means High Sierra and Mooseburger will remain the same. Just everything before it will change.
  22. She probably saw the Gold Rusher track that goes through the site.
  23. Don't go near the parks today, they are PACKED!!! Over flow parking is full, they are now parking cars across feedmill in the small dirt lots with still a line at the toll gate. Saw Bonnie out by the ticket booths, they looked flustered. I believe today was one of the free friend Sundays, so I believe that is what is driving in the crowds.
