  1. Does anyone have a extra Fright Fest map from 2009. I'm a collector and missing that one map. I have a bunch of extras from other years to trade or ill buy it from you.
  2. I actually liked Blackout too, I thought it was a cool concept. I just wished it had more talent but I guess the constant fear of wondering if someone is going to jump out is just as powerful as 20 monsters jumping out. My only complaint is I wished they would let you go in with your own group. Our group went in with three teenage girls and once a monster would scream, they would literally run us over to get away from them. It's not bad when you're in a regular maze and you can see them and get out of the way but when you're in the pitch dark and all holding the same rope, you're stuck with them. I'm also curious to know whether the new Toyz maze is going to be in that same building as Jokers because the article says they're spending some $$$ to make it more permanent and I would think that building would be the first to go when a MM or a HH expansion comes to that area. Or perhaps they're going to move it to the back of the old Palace/FT building. That is the only thing I think they could use that space for.
  3. Brady MacDonald posted the list of Fright Fest mazes and some commentary. Should be interesting to see if the event improves each year. I do think last year's event was it's best yet. I still don't think it's at the caliber of Knotts and Universal but I still don't believe it needs to be until they decide to make it a separate ticket event like the other two parks. Right now, it's still a cool bonus to your normal SFMM day.
  4. Well, they released some of the Fright Fest details in their Six Flags e-mail yesterday... So, they're listing eight mazes: Oldies 1) Whilloughby's Resurrected (Classic under the Sky Tower) 2) Black Widow (Old Eagles Flight Building) 3) Aftermath (Old Batman Stadium) 4) Cursed (Tidal Wave Queue) 5) Chupacabra (Old Revolution Queue) Newbies, Rethemed or Relocated 6) Weepy Hills INSANEtorium (Rethemed Lector's Slaughterhouse in DC Universe?) 7) Total Darkness - (Rethemed Blackout but Where? - Either keep it in the now smaller portion of the old Log Jammer Queue or my guess is the back of Palace/FT Building) 8) Toys of Terror (Rethemed Joker's Hideout in the old Flashback Building?)
  5. LA Times Brady MacDonald has gotten more information on the kiddie coaster... http://www.latimes.com/travel/deals/themeparks/la-trb-six-flags-magic-mountain-2014-09201302,0,7842045.story?track=rss&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&dlvrit=70653
  6. Which arcade building? Palace games was converted to the Dogs/Wings place? They mean the back part of the arcade building. That building is pretty large and the 2 food places and 1 store only take up the front third of it. My guess the backhalf will be used for a FF maze this year. They actually teased Lex Luthor during the Go Big Updates they used to do. I remember that chick saying something is coming and then she points to the Superman tower behind her.
  7. Well, since we're two days from the "Big" Announcement, let's make some final predictions and see who comes out the closest. My guess is... SFMM: The spinning flat water ride that Six Flags supposedly bought a bunch of and a Nighttime Spectacular to go in the Full Throttle area. SFHH: A new slide complex...FINALLY! Probably one of those drop loop racers though I prefer the first water coaster in SoCal.
  8. All the Six Flags parks are announcing their 2014 attractions on August 29th.
  9. Went to the park for an hour or so early evening today. I know everyone keeps bashing it but I like the Full Throttle plaza. I like the energy, the music and the dancers. They were even doing contests to win front of the line passes for Full Throttle. I also noticed that they're slowly putting in permanent queue stands and they're about half way through the tent structure. I also noticed they painted a large "FT" logo on top of the old Log Jammer pump house. It seems like they're slowly adding more enhancements to the area. I had the chili cheese criss-cross fries and they were really good. I want to try the Full Throttle fries next time. FT was running two trains and also Superman was running both sides tonight. I love how one person sees 1 train on the transfer track for half a day and this board goes on 3 pages of ranting about how horrible that is and how the park should have bought a third train. It cracks me up...
  10. I'm surprised how quiet the 2014 talks have been. It must mean nothing really big. I remember in 2012, there was talks of a large loop, and the tunnel and a top hat. We're a month away from the announcement and no peeps of rumors.
  11. I agree that HH is beyond due a new attraction. My guess for 2014 will be a new slide complex for HH and one of those spinning water shooting flats for SFMM to somewhat make up for the loss of Log Jammer. I believe Screamscape even said that Six Flags trademarked the name and purchased some more so it looks like they could be going to quite a few of the Six Flags parks.
  12. Wasn't it pre-planned it open back up yesterday so it must of been some rehab. No, I didn't ask.
  13. The funny thing is these guys have been around for I want to say 3 years now and you're just now noticing them? Obviously, the Full Throttle future peeps are new but the other ones have been around. You guys make fun of them but the GP love them, they're constantly getting pictures taken with them.
  14. What about the tunnel? Anything going on in there or is anything coming?
  15. Here's a video of some of the opening moments and two on ride videos of the whole ride (please note there is two parts to this video with a cheesy SCV commercial between them - First Part is the Opening and Second Part is the on ride videos) http://www.signalscv.com/multimedia/1414/ Just a side note, doesn't look like any tunnel special effects like they said or if there is, they're not turned on yet.
  16. From The Signal (cool picture)... http://www.signalscv.com/section/36/article/99096/
  17. Fox 11 just reported from the park. Tony (the reporter) is literally sitting in the train with Neil waiting for the word to go so it looks like they expecting the permit to be approved any minute. They said they're the only news station there so they'll have the exclusive coverage. They did show a POV of the ride, only up to the point where it was going back into the tunnel after the backwards launch. Didn't see any special effects but they do have those smaller cuts ins that we've seen at the entrance of the tunnel throughout the whole tunnel. I was also surprised to see the train go all the way to the end of the tunnel, practically hanging out of it before doing the backwards launch. Here's the link for the 8:18am report video (where he is outside the ride explaining what is going on)... http://www.myfoxla.com/video?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=9015587 Here's the link for the 9:50am report video (which includes footage from Goliath's Opening)... http://www.myfoxla.com/video?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=9015951 Here's the link for the 10:10am report video (which includes the partial POV)... http://www.myfoxla.com/video?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=9015979
  18. Full Throttle possibly delayed. KTLA reports there are permit issues. The official statement from Sue Carpenter at SFMM is "...we are awaiting final sign off from the state on our operating procedures and are working closely with them to finalize shortly." Hopefully they get it resolved soon...
  19. I hope they get that station covered today/tonight, that will be hell in the sun if they don't
  20. Any update on Full Throttle? Has anyone been to the park lately? With the big media day tomorrow, I was wondering how the area and the ride was looking.
  21. I don't know who made it but here is a fun history video with some cool old pictures... [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  22. Yes, the link now shows the 22nd preview as full. That was quick...
