  1. Thank you!! I might just have to try to get out there.
  2. What are you talking about? Where did you hear this? If this is actually happening, I'm way out of the loop.
  3. That's a really good question... I don't even know what it looks like it could be.
  4. I definitely am! I'm hoping to go opening day, and I'll be there for the 1 mile fun-run for Run and Ride! So glad the offseason is almost over!! I can't wait to see what this season holds in store, and I can start writing on my blog again!
  5. I think VF is emphasizing Chef Luis to help advertise the park's food, and they need to make their food look more impressive since most park guests, myself included, think Valleyfair's food is overpriced and inferior to what you can get at most fast food restaurants (who likes paying six dollars for cold French fries?) Plus, they might be trying to emphasize him since the All-Seasoning dining plan (and all of the other dining plans) are around. Promotion of the foods department! I for one got an all-season dining plan, and I'm very excited to now write food reviews on my VF blog too (because I'm super lame like that )
  6. I drove by the park today, and noticed a few things. First off, there was some land disturbance over by the dorms (which is nothing new, I'm not the first to notice it). Also the blue catwalks are gone on the sign (again, old news). I also saw a crane near Wild Thing, some maintenance trucks and some stuff covered up, not sure what that was all about. Anyone have any ideas? Also, from what I could see, the Wild Thing photo area got new overhangs that are no longer faded and looked very vibrant. The slides for the new expansion also look very nice. Can't wait til the park opens, 45 days! Here's a few crappy pics I snapped as we drove past.
  7. Am I the only one that can't find Valleyfairzone's twitter? Or did they delete?
  8. Random thought to throw out here, but I noticed a lot of Cedar Fair parks are having season pass preview nights the night before their opening day for a few hours. Do you think Valleyfair would do one? It would be a ton of fun I think.
  9. I noticed that today too, but didn't think much of it. But at least I wasn't the only one who saw it.
  10. Drove by the park today- and it's so weird seeing it empty with no rides running. You can see the slides from the road, and the progress looks nice. I snapped quite a lot of pictures as I was driving by, but I apologize for the quality from my iPhone. Anyways, here's a few pictures- only 68 days until VF opens for the season! Here's the old waterpark rides- I feel they will lose popularity this year. Here's the Wild Thing and Power Tower- I miss riding them. The old sign still stands. The park looks so lonely and empty. 68 days! Just driving by the park in the offseason makes it seem a little less long. Here's Excalibur! You can see the slide tower structure here. And what we've all been waiting to see, the slides going up! They're so vibrant- and will definitely add a lot of color to Soak City! Who here is brave enough to ride them? I'm debating if I'm brave enough to.
  11. Yeah, they've been using it every year for many different shows besides karaoke (trust me, I'm a HUGE Live E fan). Maybe they're just trying something new? Who knows, I auditioned for Live E but it didn't work out. But I still feel like they'll get a crowd for the concert shows. It's outdoors, it's not easy to miss, and you can sit down. I'll miss hearing the loud dubstep that was played and the awesomely loud music in shows like Smash, Ignite The Night, Haunted Homecoming and Ritual of Fire; however it will be interesting to see something different. I personally don't want to see the gazebo go anywhere anytime soon because I love Live Entertainment, but that's just me. I'll stop rambling now. And it could, it could not, who knows- it's VFZ. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
  12. I heard there's a magic show in there again this year (thanks to Ed Alonzo's website), so my guess is it would be on the Gazebo.
  13. Xtreme Swing is a fantastic flat ride and the best flat ride in the park! And I doubt it is leaving anytime soon. Even though I am a coaster junkie at heart I like it better than Excalibur and would call it a tie between it and Cork Screw for overall fun factor. If it wasn't for Wild Thing's first drop I would even like it more than WT. Extreme Swing for me is a better total ride experience from start to finish than WT because once WT hits the turn around it gets very boring. Xtreme Swing is a BLAST. I didn't go on it until last season because I didn't do any of the thrill rides until then, and it is easily one of my favorite rides. One day my friends and I got Fast Lane passes and we rode it like 3 times in a row. It's such a great ride and there's really never a boring moment on it. And the crew the day we rode it over and over was really funny too. 83 more days!!
  14. I worked at a Haunt in Hudson, Wisconsin called "Dreadwood Haunted Forest". I got to see some of the other parts of the Haunt and it looked pretty intense, and I've heard nothing but good reviews from this Haunt. Even though we were all just volunteers, we all worked on our characters a lot and I personally love that Haunt. Has anyone else heard of it/been there? http://www.dreadwoodhaunt.com/
  15. Unfortunately, I didn't get any clear pictures because I was so excited and couldn't hold a phone camera still. I'm sure I'll find myself down near VF sometime again in the nearish future, so if I do I'll attempt that if/when that time comes.
  16. I decided to drive by the park today because I'm hardcore missing the park (offseason withdrawals, anyone?) and I have to say I could see the work being done, so that's exciting! All the rides I could see looked so sad and lonely, and some things (like the Ferris wheel) looked like skeletons. Can't wait to see the waterpark when it's finally done, and can't wait for the park to be open again.
  17. Thanks for uploading the clips, it may not be much but it's more than I had. Man, I miss that show. It was SO good.
  18. Really cool concept art, where did you find it?! After looking around online, I found the Galaxy opened in 1998. I also agree, it would be nice to see checker-stamped concrete.
  19. If you're going through some hardcore offseason blues, you should check out my blog. I just uploaded a TON of photos from the 2014 season. Not to mention you can read a ton of reviews from the past season. Enjoy! https://livelaughlovee13.wordpress.com/valleyfair-photography/
  20. Coaster walkbacks, Exclusive Ride Times, exclusive photo opportunities, behind the scenes tours of rides, Live Entertainment (Galaxy Theatre!), etc.
  21. If you could post videos you have of Ritual of Fire, that would be awesome. I loved that show, but can't find any videos anywhere.
  22. Don't know how many people care about Live Entertainment, but according to Ed Alonzo's website, he will be back at Valleyfair this summer.
  23. This has nothing to do with construction or anything, but I thought I'd tell you all that I've auditioned for Live Entertainment at Valleyfair this summer. So who knows, maybe you'll see me onstage sometime this season! I don't know how easy it is to get in, so I definitely don't want to get my hopes up, but since I love performing and Valleyfair I figured why not give it a shot?
