  1. I am sure this even is going to be Awesome!
  2. Is row 4 on X Flight for larger riders like Gatekeeper. I have ride. It before, but the seats on Gatekeeper were right this year. It was better riding in row 4.
  3. I am sure it has been asked a million times, but is Row 4 on XFlight for larger riders such as GateKeeper. I was at Cedar Point a week ago and went on Gatekeeper front row and 4th row(several times) and though I barely fit row 1, i'd rather be comfortable. I liked the ride from the 4th row better anyway which was surprising.
  4. Yesterday Gatekeeper @ Cedar Point 3 times in a row. Ride had no wait was walk on. Ride is under-rated. My favorite ride in the park could ride it all day. First inversion is awesome.
  5. The seatbelt on Millennium Force was very tight on me when I went 3 years ago. I think I've actually gained a little more since then (although I've also gotten a tad taller) and made it on both Outlaw Run and Goliath with room to spare this year. I can't make any guarantees, but I saw some very heavy people ride Goliath yesterday. Cool to know. I never have many issues, except Cedar Point. I had to make a decision the night before Goliath opening and bailed because of high chance of thunder. However in the morning it was clear. Made out like a bandit at CP though as all the rides were pretty much walk on. I rode Gatekeeper 5 times in an hour. I couldn't get on Mantis though due to size. Got on everything else. Never had an issue anywhere else. Kings island this year didn't have a single issue.thanks for the info. Last time I was in Gurnee no issues either.
  6. Alright... I still need to get on goliath and need to figure out time to go now. Now that more people have gone. Larger riders... If I cleared Top Thrill and MF yesterday can I get on Goliath? Or should I wait and diet. I am losing weight either way. I don't want to waste a drive. Sometimes I think I am 25 and can drive 4 hrs to a park go all day and then drive 4 hrs home, but I can't anymore. 34 is different, I feel young and ready to go, but at the end of the day I am done and need to get a hotel I found out.
  7. I was at the park yesterday and the longest we waited for any coaster was 20 min and that was Maverick and TTD. I am a larger rider. I took my first walk of shame and it was on Mantis. My shoulders and chest did me in. I didn't mind that much though, because I find that ride unpleasant. I got on every other coaster in the park. I only needed help on the front row of gatekeeper and MF. The bigger row 4 rumor on gatekeeper is true I found out. Is there a row on mantis or raptor? I don't mind missing the mantis as I have been on it many times and don't like the headaches that come with it. However, if I go back I Curious.
  8. I wanted to go to Goliath opening day pretty bad. I would wait in a long line too as I said, but waiting in a severe thunderstorm and driving 4 hours to do it, I am going to have to waive a white flag. I will try to come in the in the Fall. Will be amusement parking tomorrow though, in the other direction from where I live. Hope all that road / are riding it have a blast. Hope it doesn't rain much where I am going tomorrow!
  9. Raging Bull and Diamondback are tied for my favorite ride ever. Yes I have been to Cedar Point too. I am a huge B and M fan! Can't wait to ride Goliath hopefully tomorrow.
  10. I was all good till "unforgiving for bigger riders" sounds painful.
  11. So I just now saw that Six Flags Great America is 25.00 to park. I know that Chicago is expensive, but I have been there before, and it isn't chicago it is in between Milwaukee and Chicago. This is more expensive than parking at Walt Disney World. I have seen I can get a deal at a Hotel that has a shuttle. Has anyone done this before and if so how did it work out? I may not have a problem waiting in line, but I am cheap and do everything to save a dollar. I have coke reward points for tickets to Cedar Point later. I'd rather walk a mile to the park from a hotel and safe the 25.00.
  12. Cedar Point needs a big wooden coaster. Really a classic wooden coaster would be awesome, but that breed is dying. I'd say do the RMC treatment or year it down and make a bigger badder El Toro by intamin.
  13. I have never been denied access to a rollercoaster due to size, but it was a very close call for me on top thrill dragster. Which surprised me because on Insane Coaster Wars there looked to be people bigger than me on it. I am glad to know others compare the intamin rides too lol. That is why I asked about RMC restraints as I have never been on one and there are very few out. I saw a picture on a SF fan sight that showed a huge muscle man half naked posing as Goliath during the photo shoot so that is promising.
  14. For those that rode Goliath during the commercial shoot how is the seat belts/restraints? Are they accommodating? Can a bigger person ride if they could get on every other ride at the park?
  15. Prozach626 : also I only planned to do opening day for Banshee and I has that planned since it was announced. KI is my home park and I took a ten year hiatus from coasters from 2002 to 2012. So it was my first opportunity and it was a lot of fun. I am glad I did it. I actually planned six flags trip thinking goliath would have opened in May.
  16. To prozach626 : here is the deal. I work full time, my partner works full time. I have two small kids who my parents took out of town for the week. I love the experience of being with the crowd and being there opening day. It is a story and an experience. I don't mind waiting in line it is excitement and low stress. 10 years later I can say I was there opening day. Considering I am in Indianapolis, I don't have another chance to go to Great America... It is an awesome deal it will be open. To each there own.
  17. Six Flags Great America advertises a Thrill Pass unlimited visits for 64.99 on it's website. I am going the 19th and 20th and likely won't return this season. I am thinking of going this route. Has anyone else done this and is it a solid deal? Seems like the best route for 2 days Thanks!
  18. What blind luck! My trip to Six Flags planned for June 19 and 20! Opening day Banshee opening day Goliath! Win! I am so ecstatic! I will go two days so a wait I can handle!
  19. Does anyone know the investment cost on Goliath? How does it compare to Outlaw Run?
  20. Wow 800 an hour. Opening day is going to be a nightmare line if that is accurate. Opening day for Banshee I arrived at 3 pm and waited 3 hours earlier it was 5 hours and that was for 1600+ riders an hour.
  21. I am gonna go. Trying to work out babysitting for the day. Event is only 2 hours from home! This event needs an awesome t-shirt! I'll pay extra
  22. I don't care how long the line is I'd wait. I waited for Banshee 3 hours opening day. Two opening days would be crazy. My back up plan at this point is to try to go to Holiday World and do the three coasters, leave and get to Kentucky Kingdom ride the two coasters then go to Kings Island again the next day. Or to go to Kennywood at night and then Cedar Point the next day.
  23. Thanks for responding. Yeah I know no one can tell me a date yet, but I was hoping to see what people who are around there thought. I have never been on a RMC. So I am wanting to experience it. I don't want to go to the park and watch the ride being tested more and miss out. I did plenty of that at Disney World in May with Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. However, I had to be in Florida for a wedding then, so that is how the timing worked. I had an awesome time though... best time ever really.
  24. I love Cedar Point, I really do. However, Mean Streak is terrible. It either needs to go iron horse, or be torn down. I think Cedar Point is proceeding with caution and watching from the sidelines. I think they want to see how well the coasters they build hold up for at least a few years, as well as look at maintenance and safety records. There is a reason they haven't jumped at RMC yet. I am in the midwest and the only ride they should ever consider doing an Iron rebuild to is Mean Streak. I think that if they were going to jump on RMC anytime soon they would have saved Son Of Beast.
  25. My partner and I have two small children 5 and 3. They are great for taking to Disney World, but not so much going to a coaster park. I have done ride switch at Cedar Point before, it isn't that bad if you have to do it, but it is a pain. I have June 19th and 20th in which we can go to a theme park without children. I was planning to go to SFGA to check out Goliath. Who could beat riding 2 new coasters in one year? We already went to Banshee opening day and got front row. However, I don't know how this Goliath opening is going to roll and it is a week out now. If I need to get a season pass for a preview day I'd totally buy it as they don't charge much at all for season passes. However, if we are not going to even get a chance to ride Goliath, I'd rather re-plan for Cedar Point as when I went to Cedar Point last year on the first Tuesday it was open Gatekeeper was closed due to high winds. I still need to get on it. My current plan for CP was to try to go in the fall. Perhaps I should switch with Great America and do that in the fall? My rule for going to a theme park at this point is the park needs to have something I haven't been on yet. I don't get much time, so I have to be picky! What do you guys think? Should I hold on a few more days?
