  1. Anyone else find it interesting that the challenge park has no hours listed yet on the website? Could it be a sign it will be demolished for 2017 expansion?
  2. It looks so much like Gatekeeper in different colors, lol.
  3. I would say mid August. Mid May is so iffy with weather and operations. Also, most shows are still going on in mid August. In May, most of the shows have not even started yet.
  4. Sounds like CP is getting wifi next year! Awesome!
  5. I wonder how much longer into the year they will be painting Raptor and TTD until it gets "too cold" for them? I would assume they could continue throughout at least the rest of November, weather permitting... But who knows, the top of TTD is probably what, 20 degrees colder than down below?
  6. When did they announce this? I highly doubt the dorms will be around too much longer, but I haven't seen them say anything about the removal of them yet.
  7. BS is a classic and will be going nowhere anytime soon. That would destroy history!
  8. According to twitter, the announcement for Tuesday has been post poned.
  9. Great photos!! Thanks for the report.
  10. Looks like the coaster timeline has been taken down.
  11. Surprised no one posted this... Work behind the fence! https://m.facebook.com/jacob.seagraves.3/posts/pcb.811086145672242/?photo_id=811086025672254&mds=%2Fphotos%2Fviewer%2F%3Fphotoset_token%3Dpcb.811086145672242%26photo%3D811086025672254%26profileid%3D100003125927142%26source%3D48%26refid%3D8%26cached_data%3Dfalse%26ftid%3Du_0_p&mdf=1
  12. If I remember correctly that paint was there last last summer...
  13. Went to the park on Saturday... Good day at the park! Crowded though as expected on a Saturday. Got to the park right at 10 and went right to Gatekeeper. 45 minutes wait. Honestly, this ride is just OK, it hurt my head the those restraints just strap you in there so tight. Next up we did Millennium Force. Waited about an hour and 15. Great ride as usual. Next we did Mine Ride, 15 minutes wait and as usual a good little kiddie coaster. After we went to lunch at Chik-Fil-A and that place as always was amazing. They got some great chicken sandwiches there. After lunch we rode Shoot the Rapids, 45 minute wait and did not break down once while in line. Was impressed. The ride is OK, but does not deserve the hate it gets. After that we did Skyhawk which was about 15 minutes wait and after walked over to Iron Dragon and did that. Waited about 30. They really need to extend that que area as it overflows on busy days. Next we did Magnum and waited about 30. Awesome ride as usual. Magnum is one of the best coasters in the park for sure. Next we did Top Thrill and waited about an hour. As usual, it delivered the punch. Next we went to Friday's for dinner and sat on the patio. I love the new utilization of the beach and the hotel looks awesome. Good work CP. As for the food at Friday's, it was just meh. Great day though, besides the crowds!
  14. The forecast says "Chance of a Thunderstorm" all week, not rain. That usually means sunny almost all day with one passing storm during the day, and probably lower crowd levels and shorter lines. Low winds too... looks like great weather to me. Very true. I went on Friday and it said 80% chance of rain. It rained for two hours at one point during the day and the rest of the day was sunny. It was great because crowds were very minimal!
  15. Was at the park today. Had a good day! First trip to the park this year. Forecast showed for 80% chance of storms all day. Stuck it out and knew it wasn't going to rain all day. Which it didn't! Got to the park around 10 and it was clear skies and pretty warm! First ride of the day was Gatekeeper. Pretty much a walk on! We only waited a little bit on the stairs and then about three trains in the station. My friend did MaXair next and I sat out because I would have puked my guts out! Next up was Iron Dragon and waited maybe around 2 trains. After ID we went over to Millennium Force and waited maybe about 30 minutes and sat in the front. This ride is amazing in the front! After we walked down the trail to Maverick and waited maybe a half hour to 40 for this one. The new restraints are awesome and made the ride even better than it ever was. Next we had lunch at the Roundup right by Maverick and after checked out the petting farm. After we walked over to Shoot the Rapids and shockingly enough it was closed! (gasp) ...well what was weird was it had riders on and it was running but the sign out front said it was closed. Who knows. So next we went over to Thunder Canyon and as we enter the line the winds are getting heavy and it looks like a big storm is coming. TC was a little chilly at this point with the wind. Was still a fun ride though. After we walked over to Mine Ride and waited a few trains for that. We were the last train to go and then it shut down due to weather I guess? Even though the storm didn't come until probably a half hour later. Also I guess there was a power outage at the front of the park according to the ride op? Anyways so we get in line for the train and downpour begins. Train closes down but luckily we were safe under the Frontier Town station. Probably sat there for a good half hour and then it lightened up but rides were still closed. During that we took a stroll through Breakers and did they do a great job! The hotel looks great! After that we noticed Rougarou was still running in the light rain so went on that. Good ride and better than Mantis! Seemed faster and more intense. Minor head banging was experienced. After that the downpour came back and we decided to ride the train in circles until it stopped. Probably a half hour of riding the train. It was relaxing at least. After the rain stopped we took a spin on Mean Streak. Running one train and had the worst ride ever on it. Rough as no other! After we walked over to TTD which seemed to be running so jumped in line and waited about 45 for the front. Awesome ride as usual! Next we went to dinner over at Friday's and had a good meal. After we headed back into the park and rode Magnum and then headed out for the night. Good day overall besides some bad weather! Also, I know this is a random observation but I noticed they added a lot of new trash cans around the park without the CP logo stickers on them! Looks better with them.
  16. Hope the rain holds off tomorrow at the park.
  17. I'd be willing to bet Sky Ride, Dragster, Gatekeeper, Raptor and Windseeker will close at some point as the gusts will likely exceed that speed but it doesn't mean they'll stay closed. If you see them open, ride them ASAP. I've been trying to ride Gatekeeper for the past 2 years. I can only go to CP usually once a year. In 2013 it was open all day and when we decided to ride after dinner a big storm came through and closed it down. Last year it was down for wind all day. Hope I can finally ride it this year.
  18. How fast are the winds?? I'm going Friday and it says 16 mph. Will any rides be closed for that speed? Hope things won't be closed.
  19. Prob not seeing as they are only doing current coasters. Rougarou will likely be the last coaster before the finale.
  20. Anyone know if shoot the rapids or thunder canyon have opened yet?
  21. Anyone else see this timeline added to the construction fence? Can't wait for the announcement in August!!
  22. Gemini is running two sides. Anyone know if the water rides are running yet?
  23. Wicked Twister is currently testing!
