  1. Mmm...Delicious conjecture. Things have a way of evening out. I think their attendance numbers will be just fine come the end of the season.
  2. Construction cam is live (literally!) with an interesting "pool" like pit formed since we last saw this view. http://www.holidayworld.com/webcams/ They're not messing around! Tons of progress in the past week or so.
  3. If this is anything like Voyage, the park would have taken input from enthusiasts to B&M (and likely other manufacturers) and asked for their best implementation given a roughly mapped out ride footprint. Edit:^I asked Paula a couple days ago about the cam and she said it is going up soon, as in, before the announcement.
  4. I think you are severely underestimating the profitability of a park that draws well over a million visitors a year. They seem to be growing intelligently and after years of investing in Splashin' Safari, they seem poised to make a big addition to the dry side. I wouldn't rule anything out at this point, but the current construction site points to a fairly lengthy B&M coaster of indeterminate model.
  5. ^Sigh... Holiday World spent $13.5 million in 2006 on Voyage and Thanksgiving. They have indicated that next year's expansion will be the largest in park history. Try to keep up.
  6. You should try reading some of the thread. No one is certain but the footings being poured are identical to those of Banshee and Gatekeeper with no word from anyone that other manufacturers use the same style of footing. It would be lame if they received B&M's most intense ride model? Also, no one knows how much money the park is investing for 2015. They spent $13.5 million in 2006 - their largest expansion to date and we have word from the park that this expansion will be larger.
  7. You should raise your percentage of certainty because I can assure you this is not a thing.
  8. ^I think we'd all be pleased if the park got something with the intensity of Kumba, Montu or Sheikra. Typing those three together really makes one appreciate BGT's lineup. Best set of B&Ms in one park by far.
  9. Provided this ends up being B&M, what are all of you thinking will be the most likely model? My order of likelihood: Sitdown/Floorless - launch or standard lift Wing -"featured" model at the moment Flying - would be unique to the region Dive - very unique Invert - yes, please Hyper - would be cool but footprint seems too small and clues point to inversions Standup - haha, no
  10. ^^Perhaps you need to be reacquainted with the definition of "sure." Does anyone have word of when the new construction cam will go live? Paula, feel free to chime in as you may be the only one privy to this info.
  11. ^Do you care to substantiate these claims?
  12. ^^Here are the tons of track you were looking for. https://www.flickr.com/photos/99502551@N08/with/14542165546/
  13. ^But this *is* part of the ride's overall marketing plan. We will ostensibly see the coaster rising behind this bannered wall in the coming months. If you take a step back you'll realize it's quite silly to imagine a PR/Marketing person researching coaster length records on RCDB and then ordering the creation of a large piece of promotional signage based on this inconsequential characteristic of the coaster.
  14. You guys can't possibly think the park would market this ride as the 8th "-est" coaster in the world, can you? This is a play on the seven wonders of the world, nothing more. They are teasing that it will be an awe-inspiring landmark, a destination attraction. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Wonders_of_the_Ancient_World
  15. Fair enough. Was just giving you a hard time. I must say though, I don't get the roughness complaint when it comes to Gatekeeper. There was admittedly some rattle last year in the outside seats but even then I would've stopped well shy of calling it rough. This year, I find the ride to be quite smooth front to back - rumor is, they tweaked wheel compounds/combinations late last year or in the offseason.
  16. ^I adore the Schwarzkopf trains too and agree they are more than sufficient safety-wise. I mentioned the Mack restraints as they seem like something that B&M could implement (read: copy!) without overhauling their rolling stock too drastically.
  17. Holy hyperbole... I would probably rank them: Invert Hyper Kumba/Dominator Dive All other Sitdown/Floorless/Wing Flyer Standup Judging by POVs, I'm sure my opinion on Flyers will be tweaked if I ever get to Sky Scrapper.
  18. ^^Agreed. The newest Mack restraints look pretty perfect for inverting rides.
  19. Day 46 entry is up: "For yet another day the wind surrounds us. The crew is no longer able to set our course. Instead these good men search the ship, tightening ropes, securing boxes and barrels. We are at the mercy of the sea. - See more at: http://www.holidayworld.com/66days/#sthash.33PwAQFC.dpuf" Probably nothing earth shattering clue wise but the use of metaphor to convey checking restraints and securing loose articles made me smile.
  20. ^I don't think anyone is forgetting other manufacturers per se, it's just that the completed footings appear identical to those of Banshee and Gatekeeper - both B&Ms, of course.
  21. ^^^Missed that tweet but I agree it reinforces the possibility of a launched coaster if she's referring to the 2015 project. I can envision awesome things for almost all of B&M's current models with the incorporation of a launch.
  22. I guess that settles it.
  23. I think the angle of this photo is throwing people off. It looks to me that there are at least 5 distinct pieces of orange/red steel (numbered below). 1 - I don't think this is part of 2. The gray connecting face and perspective make this seem like a separate piece sitting behind 3. 2 - Could this be resting on the connector, behind, not on top of 3? This is just how my eyeballs are perceiving things. I could be terribly wrong.
  24. A Giga is highly unlikely but not because of the park's slant toward families. The Voyage is one the most intense and relentless coasters in the world - certainly far more intense than Millennium Force or Leviathan. Given the clues, we are likely looking at something that inverts - probably ruling out Hyper/Giga coasters.
  25. Confirmation is a bit strong but look at the footings in the center of this image. And now look at Banshee's footings. They look identical to my eyes. I'm waiting for someone more well-versed in manufacturer footings to clue us in as to whether other companies use the oval/almond shaped cutout or not.
