  1. We will get to SDC some day and possibly SFGAm this Summer. We have four kids ages 2 to 20 so we do a Disney vacation every couple years. (My wife grew up in Southern California with DL annual passes so she is a Disney freak.) The nine-year-old just hit 54 inches at the end of last year, so other parks with more extreme coasters are now feasible. Thanks for the suggestions. Mike
  2. I agree that watching the ground fall away as you climb the spike backwards is cool. The momentary hang time, sitting in the front, staring straight down at the ground is awesome. Then for a different experience, sitting in the back, you just feel so high up when you are at the top of the spike. But for me, launching forward stills trumps all that. We get our launching fix on Rock 'n' Rollercoaster at DHS and California Screamin' (soon to be Incredicoaster) at CA, but we don't visit those places ten times a year with the opportunity for multiple rides on most days. I respect your opinion, but I have experienced the spike in reverse enough times that I would like to go back to the forward launch. Mike
  3. Those were the days. Yes. Time to turn it back around. I think this is the seventh year of "reverse blast". I think the gimmick has run its course. Mike
  4. Thanks TNT. I think most of our visits must have been during that down time, and then it was not running the one time we made it to Frightfest. Mike
  5. Do any of our "in the know" park employees know whether or not Boomerang will be up and running on opening weekend? I know it does not receive much love on this forum but it is one of my kids' favorites. It seemed to be down most of last year (at least when we were there) and I think we only road it once. thanks. Mike
  6. I know, I know. I'm just having a bit of a digital temper tantrum because the passholder email seemed to be an announcement that is was open and I got my hopes up Yeah, the passholder email totally made it sound like it was definitely going to be operating. Very disappointing.
  7. Yeah, pretty disappointing for us. We get to the water park once a season at most. It is too crowded on weekends and I have to take off work to go on a weekday. Maybe a joker clone next year. Good for the water park regulars though! Mike
  8. Over six hundred pages since I joined the forum in 2014! Cheers to all! Mike
  9. We will never let it go (unless we get a hyper, which also means never). Mike
  10. Thanks castaway kid and HWFAN for posting pics. We are getting really excited for HITP at SFSTL! Totally skipping the Zoo this year! Mike
  11. F***ing wife got a hold of my account again!!!! Damnit, Emily!!! I was scratching my head when I saw this. Thought it was Prozach sarcasm but it seemed a bit off. Welcome Mrs. Prozach the prankster!
  12. So far everything I've heard says Chevy Showcase is staying. Its either going to run parallel to the tracks or its going to take Slingshots spot. Looking at the aerial image posted a few pages back it looks like it would be a pretty tight fit between the tracks and the old show building. From the photos and video Spinsanity looks to be a fairly large installation. Is that area southeast of tsunami soaker even considered to be in the Chouteau's market area? Mike
  13. We have visited the park five or six times this year so far and my only complaint is slow food service most of the time which seems to be mostly due to understaffing. My seven and nine year old boys have a great time every visit, and they are not quite tall enough for BTR or Mr. Freeze so they have those to look forward to next year. Oh, and please turn Mr. Freeze back around like it belongs! On a lighter note, I noticed this on our most recent visit, located on the back end of the fountain in the entrance plaza. Nice way to honor Dave whom I met and spoke with numerous times over the last ten years. Mike Dave Roemer plaque
  14. [responding to DoinItForTheFame's posts on JLBFM] Generally our wait times on JLBFM have been around 35 minutes once we are in the building (if there are no breakdowns). We have had no breakdowns and all effects have been running smoothly on our last several visits. Whatever work they did some weeks back really seems to have improved reliability. Mike
  15. I just got that too, and had to roll my eyes. Sheesh. How would you describe Fireball to a person that hasnt seen a ride like it before at a park or a carnival? You would describe it as a coaster loop, not a whole coaster only the loop. I see no issue here, they could be calling a looping coaster and running around saying come ride our tenth coaster like the other parks did last year, but their not. I just thought it was funny that a number of people were pleasantly surprised that SFSTL did not market Fireball as another coaster, but then this. I have never seen a Larson loop referred to a as a coaster loop anywhere else. I have not been to the park yet this year, but from the photos that have been posted it looks great up on the hillside. I am sure my kids and I will enjoy it. I like going upside down.
  16. I just received the SFSTL passholder email newsletter. They just could not help themselves. They are referring to Fireball as a "coaster loop".
  17. I lurked on the sfstl.net board for over a year, then joined, then it went dark a few months later. Found my way over here, saw a quite a few of the old sfstl.net members were here, and joined. I don't post a lot, only when looking for information, commenting on something relevant to me and my family, or to appreciate others' posts (mostly those of Josh, and Zach when he is lobbying to turn the trains back around on Mr. Freeze). I do appreciate the input, information and insight from the members of this board/thread. Mike
  18. Thanks for the info Sportsdude. I really hope they make this happen. Getting in with our season pass we would probably go a couple of times, weather permitting. Mike
  19. Does anyone know if the HITP events at other SF parks are an upcharge, or does the season pass get you in? Mike
