Photo TR: Josh's 2014 Park Adventures
boldikus replied to JRice92's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Awesome report, good photos. Dying to visit this park. -
^ ^ Thank you, Genx24! Well folks, I reluctantly called the park about this and if you can believe it not only did they answer the phone right away (!!) the employee I spoke to was awesomely helpful, friendly and wished me good weather (!!!) and she was able to answer both my questions. For anyone curious - yes, if the pass and parking is on the same voucher you don't have to go to processing for parking UNLESS you want to add shopping or dining stuff. She did say I should just double check with the person at the gate when arriving and getting my card, so me being me I'll likely ask a few people to be sure. She even said "you wouldn't want to come back again and not be able to park for free!" As for my other question: she seemed even more confident in telling me that yes I'll be able to just show my voucher to the ticketbooth person and they'll give me the BAF$14.99 coupon my buddy can use for entry to CAD and I'll just give my voucher to the person at the gate in exchange for my card and shouldn't have any problem at all. Just wanted to share the update and my excitement at this unexpected interaction with the park. Also, who else from here is going to CAD? Meeetup?

Best Color Scheme?
boldikus replied to Snowyowl1028's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Weirdly, I am generally a creative type but coaster colors don't really matter much to me (looks great but how does it ride!?!?), but I will say that this piece of machinery just looks stunning from every angle. Love the blue and yellow against the green trees. -
Hey guys need a little bit of help/advice about my season passes. Trying to make this as short and to-the-point as possible but it won't be easy. I have plans in place to go up with a buddy to Coasters After Dark next Friday but I haven't been to the park yet this season and therefore I have yet to process my pass (for whats its worth: they are Gold Passes w/ parking, were purchased in early Dec during their black friday deal and parking is on the same voucher as the passes are on). I am pretty sure I have read here and elsewhere that if I paid for parking and its on the same voucher (it is) that I don't have to go to processing to "add it" and since I'm not adding anything else right now (I might get the photo card but that doesnt go on the pass anyway right? Anyways, I'm not getting the dining/shopping stuff added). Is this true? I'd hate to go up for CAD for a night of short lines and have to spend it @ processing. Will they just give me my card at the gate and parking and all is done/processsed/etc and I'm good and can presumably just run to El Toro lol? Here's my other dilemma: my ride up to the park that night is from a non-SP holder, I was going to bring him as my BAF for $14.99. I know I can show my voucher for parking before I get my card at the gate, BUT can I use my voucher at the ticket booth if I won't have my card yet? Like I'll show my voucher at parking, can I show it at ticket booths again to get him in and then I can get my card at the gate? Does this make sense? Anyone? Bueller?

I don't care much for the ride, so I wouldn't care if it had a short line, but in my experience the GP obviously eat up this gimmick because it almost ALWAYS has a long line when I am at the park. It's only been walk-on for me once when it was down and we happened to walk past right after it started running again. I get that people dislike the ride but I am of the firm belief that GL is NOT rough, just awkward because of the standing position factor. The first drop, vertical loop and the drop/pop after the MCBR are all fun, smooth, pleasant parts of this ride to me. The rest of the course I am always riding defensively to avoid my ears being boxed in. But if I am with someone who wants to ride, I will. I think another big factor in most of us disliking the ride is that we have 4 other decent-to-great B&Ms so we're understandably spoiled. As low as GL sits on my list of rides I like at this park, I'll take it over GASM, on which I took my last ride sometime in 1992.

I really wish folks would stop insinuating the park removed Rolling Thunder for this. This isn't a personal attack Jcoaster, I just keep seeing it everywhere and its driving me nuts. Think about it. I highly doubt the park had plans two years ago when RT was removed to add a Super Loop of all things and took RT out because they wanted to put that in. Rolling Thunder was removed because THIS vvv Also THIS I would love an new coaster as much as anyone here, but even without one for 2015, we still have one of the best, most well rounded line-ups on the planet, with our top three being pretty big-deal, renowned coasters. If you don't like the new addition, then don't ride it. Plain and simple. Look at it with a glass-half-full-perspective: there is no major huge flashy ride to bring people to the park that wouldn't normally go aka less long lines this year. Also (unrelated) Great Adventure Online posted this, anyone know the story?? LMAO

Surprised everyone is so shocked it went up so fast. We all knew that would be the case, its not like its a giant woodie or anything. Also, keep in mind they still have to build the "station" and ramps/steps around the ride, probably lay some concrete to complete the queue (though I'm sure they are using as much of RT queue as possible to save $) and hopefully they'll put down a little bit of landscaping around the ride. Not to mention putting the rest of the train on, testing the ride, lighting package, etc etc. I'll definitely try it. The last time I rode an old school ring of fire was in the 80s in Wildwood and I barely remember that. Not to mention this is right next to my favorite coaster on the planet.

Six Flags America (SFA) Discussion Thread

That's a bummer, I liked Jokers Jinx (though to be fair I have no idea when I'll be back down to this park). Good ride though, imo. -
Looks INSANE. Hearing reports of 2+ hour waits for the headliners. Saw a post on FB telling people to "STAY AWAY" lol. On a Monday. In April. WTF. I went to the park 10 different times in 2014, all on totally different days of the week throughout the spring/summer and fall. We had a few crowded days but NOTHING like that. I can't imagine its all just for that concert/spring break.
