  1. ^Exactly, Robb called this back when it was first announced. It wouldn't be Fastpass without the park hopping feature! He told us to WAIT and here it is! Just in time for the summer season and the opening of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! What it looks like to me, is that once you've used your three entitlements (lets say at Magic Kingdom) you can then get an additional ones at Magic Kingdom or another park if you so choose? Does this sound about right?!? Boy oh boy! I can't wait for my trip in June! It can't get here fast enough!
  2. Just booked all of my family's fastpasses for our trip in early June! I've been reading this forum and all of the changes and tweaks Disney has been making to the system to make it less stressful in being able to get a fastpass for your favorite rides. While I'm not a fan of only being to have three a day in only one park (I know this is about to change where you can get more than three and park hopping is coming), but for the time being I am content to know that 56 days out from our trip I have secured rides on my family's favorite rides without having to scramble at the park the morning of. It was a pain in the rear the last time we went to WDW when I had to race all the way over to Expedition Everest first thing in the morning to get a fastpass and then meet the family who is waiting in line for Kilimanjaro Safaris, or have to race to the back of Hollywood Studios to get a fastpass for Toy Story Mania that is already 6 hours later from when the park first opens. This system is getting an A++++ from me before I even leave for WDW!!! Knowing that we now can reserve seats for shows and parades makes this system even better! Plus, knowing how easy it is to change things on the fly without being limited into one time slot for one ride is stress free for when one of my sisters hates when I start "micro-managing" our trip. The only downside I see for my taste at Epcot and HS is not being able to get two E-Ticket attractions on the same day (i.e. Tower of Terror & Rock N Roller), but realizing that a lot of the newer rides and ones that have been refurbished are starting to get interactive queues (Test Track, Soarin') so it makes not having a FP okay in my book. At least for my family, going to WDW is about making new memories with the family instead of seeing how many times we can ride Rock N Roller Coaster over and over. Granted, RNRC is one of my favorite rides at HS, I just don't want to kill myself racing around the parks getting fastpass after fastpass, and with this new system I don't have to anymore!
  3. From a photo I saw on my Twitter feed last night, it looks like the media preview is April 30th - May 2nd. I'd expect to see a 'soft opening' sometime between April 20th (that is when Cast Members begin their training) and April 30th. I'm really excited for another roller coaster to add to the excitement that the Magic Kingdom brings!
  4. This is the news I've been waiting to hear! I hope that by the time my family and I head to WDW the 2nd week of June that these new upgrades are all in effect especially the park hopping!
  5. Just finished paying off our family trip to WDW this summer! Can't wait! I've been keeping tabs on the Fastpass+ system since it's been rolled out at the first of the year. When do we think we will start to see the system be expanded to more Fastpasses per park and/or see the ability to park hop? I love the fact we'll be able to pre-plan our Fastpasses, but does anyone think the system will be expanded come the first of June? (We're going June 8th - 15th)
  6. Drove by Hurricane Harbor to check in on construction over there on the new Wahoo Racer. They have removed the Bubba Tub, Kamikaze, and Blue Niagara rides to make way for the new water slides. Ground work is pretty much all that is going on at the moment and slide pieces are yet to be seen in the parking lot. It'll be a nice improvement to that part of the park!
  7. ^Anytime! From what I can remember from last year during HITP, there really isn't anything "new." They've just transitioned most of the lights to LED's to conserve on energy and they moved the kids karaoke that used to be in Looney Tunes Land to out in front of the Texas Theater over by Yosemite Sam. Other than that, its the same stuff as last year so you aren't really missing much. From what I could tell when riding the train around, the expansion to Looney Tunes Land is going to be just to the left of where you entered the area. The entire portion of the area was graded and walled off. It'll be interesting to see how they expand that portion of the park which is VERY limited on space. Everything else in the kids area was open and doesn't look like it's going anywhere, but then again they need those rides open for the age demographic. I would think they probably will concentrate on getting a majority of the expansion completed before March rolls around and then concentrate on finishing it up before schools let out in the summer. Who knows. Time will tell. I just wish we were getting a new roller coaster for next season. Here's to wishful thinking for something we've never seen before for 2015...
  8. ^Thanks! I've grown up in DFW so SFOT has been my home park since I was little. So, I'm used to the park being super crowded. It always is nice when you can walk onto rides and be able to re-ride without having to go back through the line. The park was so dead last night that ride ops were cycling Shockwave trains through empty to let people know driving by that park WAS open. The longest line we waited for last night was for Superman since they had only one tower open, but after about waiting 15 mins they opened the yellow tower and we immediately were seated. I guess the weather had a lot to do with the crowds being SUPER light, but I'm not complaining! It certainly looked and felt like Christmas at the park last night!
  9. Hey there! Been following these forums for the last couple of years and enjoy reading everyone's thoughts and opinions on here. Coming from the DFW area and wanted to give y'all a quick trip report from my latest visit to SFOT. Dropped in for Holiday in the Park for the first time this season. My family and I tried to go the Friday after Thanksgiving and the park was insane. That afternoon guests were already starting to park in the back lot after only being open two hours. I guess with the weather not cooperating for the first weekend (Nov. 23rd & 24th) and the park offering bring a friend free for season pass holders it seemed to bring out the crowds. We then tried going last weekend but obviously we couldn't go due to the Icemageddon that occurred last weekend. So we thought we'd give it a try tonight. Let's just say the park was DEAD. I'd say less than 1,000 people were at the park tonight. Weather was cold and damp tonight. Maybe that kept people away; however, it was perfect for me and my buddy that tagged along. Walked on every ride that was open we wanted to ride except for Superman. Atmosphere was great and the Fa-la-la-la light show was nice. I did like the way the park has moved the "Christmas tree" that used to be decorated on the Texas Chute Out over to the Tower. It also seems that the park has become super energy conscious with the majority of the lights up in the park being LEDs. It gives it a crisper cleaner look and I enjoyed all the lights throughout the park. Decided to skip out on all the shows since they've been the same ones we've seen the last several years. Really wish the park would have kept the Majesty of Christmas which is now at Fiesta Texas. That show was one of my favorite parts of going to Holiday in the Park every year. Noticed that they've also started construction on the expansion to Looney Tunes Land. The train, mini bumper cars, and daffy's tour ride (or whatever its called) have all been removed since Fright Fest began and the area has been walled off. Other than that, not much has changed construction wise. It'll be nice to see the expansion next year when everything is finished. Wishing the park had Batman and Freeze open tonight cause it really puts a damper on being able to ride the bigger roller coasters but I understand that they have to start maintenance on them at some point. Overall, I enjoyed my visit with the crowd being super light and the weather cooperating enough for us to enjoy our night. To me and my family it isn't a Texas Christmas without our annual visit to Six Flags and Holiday in the Park!
