Well, first thing to keep in mind is that they're only open the 6th and 7th, then they're closed until Fright Fest starts on the 27th. In my past experience, that last weekend of normal operation is usually pretty dead (at least compared to Fright Fest). I would expect the first weekend of Fright Fest to probably be busier, but less crowded than later in Fright Fest would be.

With both the Viper height thing and this beer thing, without being there, it just sounds to me like the employees were basically just doing their job. Maybe they erred a bit on the side of being overly cautious, but they're probably trained to do that (because its better to annoy a customer than break the law). Now, again, I wasn't there, maybe this employee was on a power trip and wanted to screw somebody over for no reason. I kinda doubt it, though.

Not true. If I'm in line without flash pass, the new person would be in line after me. With flash pass, they can go ahead of me. Therefore, there are more people in front of me, so my line is longer. And don't get me started on rerides... I'll say this again: there is no way to make lines shorter for some people without making lines longer for other people. I know people who use flash pass don't consider that, but it's a fact, and, to me, it's a negative thing. I'm curious: if you like/support flashpass, is there any point where it would be too much? Like, if they had "Ultimate Flash Pass" for $500, but you could reride for an hour on any ride with no waiting - would you be ok with that?

Sure, I get that, I'm sure using a flash pass is great. Who wants to wait in lines, especially with kids? The thing is, because you have more money than me (or you're less concerned with saving it), you get to go ahead of me. It's a zero-sum game for everybody who benefits from flash pass, somebody gets hurt. If you choose not to care, that's on you, I just get a little bitter at being (increasingly) a second (or, really, fourth) class citizen at a place that used to be so much more equal.

I don't care if people have a nice car or a first class seat, because that doesn't effect me. People with flash pass directly impact my experience at the park. I miss the days when everybody at the park would have the potential for an equal experience, rather than being able to pay more for a better one. I'm usually not a person who would confront anyone (and I never would in person), but when I see a post that strikes as so out-of-touch with the reality of how much money a flash pass is to some people I can't help myself. Keep your flash pass, just don't expect me to be happy for you. Also,'m aware the park makes a lot of money on flashpass, but I think the idea that they charge less for other tickets because of they utterly ridiculous. They charge as much as they can for everything they can (and I'm fine with that, they're a business). I promise you everything in the park is vastly more expensive than before flash pass (and at a higher rate than the rate of inflation).

If you buy a flash pass, you're buying shorter lines, you're nnot buying acceptance from the general public. I get why the park loves it (money!), but Flash Passes are the worst thing that's ever happened, and I basically hate every single person I ever see using one. I know some people might save up and do it once in a lifetime, but way too many appear to just be kids who's parents have too much money and have no idea how other people live. Basically, if you want to buy one it's your right - but it's my right to hate you (and I do).

It sucks to have this kind of thing happen to your kid, or a kid you know. Still, though, it's hard for me to be too upset at any one person or situation without knowing more (which I'm sure in this case we never will) - if the operator was convinced she was too short, shouldn't it be his job to not let her on, wristband or no? Maybe he was trained to use his judgement and not trust a wristband, which could have been given in error or could be fake. Just for the sake of safety, I'd rather the employees err on the side of not letting people on - a crying child is better than a child who slips under a lapbar or gets hurt.

I have a daughter who's borderline 36 inches, and we go to SFGAm a lot. She gets measured on a few rides, and we've never had any problems. The most annoying thing that's ever happened was on some kids ride where the one employee was measuring EVERYBODY, even children who were very obviously far over the height limit. Not the worst thing in the world I guess, but it made loading take forever. Basically, I think (at worst) the situation that happened was maybe just one bad employee - and, really, without having seen what happened it's kind of debatable on how bad it was. Let's say the employee measured her the first time and was POSITIVE that she wasn't tall enough. When the same person came back a little later with the wristband, he might have remained so convinced that she wasn't tall enough that he disregarded the wristband. Probably not the best behavior in the world, but it seems a least possible that he was actually worried about her safety. There are two sides to every story.

I obviously can't tell you what they are thinking, but it could be that other guests waiting in a line for an hour or two get upset when they see somebody riding 5 times back-to-back (even if that person riding 5 times back-to-back didn't make their line any longer). Even if it seems dumb to you, the park has to balance the enjoyment and fairness to all guests. On a related note, it could be that they have a vested interest in not making it easy to keep riding, because they want you to buy a Flash Pass. They might not want to give anybody ideas.

It got sold to a carnival after the incident. Nothing much else. I know, I was just surprised it was still there this long after. The next day, I saw another truck leaving (and took a picture which I can post later if anybody cares) and saw the rest of the supports sitting in a back parking lot with trucks around them too. Should all be gone soon (if it's not already).
