  1. What a night for my internet to be down! Having to follow all of this on the trusty iPhone. Pleased to see the 66 days site is very mobile friendly
  2. "Our next voyage begins May 19" I wonder if it will be themed along the lines of this: https://suite.io/rosemary-e-bachelor/2fj025d
  3. I'm a big fan of the roasted corn on the cob as a side to anything. I think you can get it at Kringles Kafe and several of the restaurants in the water park. The soft drinks are pretty good too
  4. ^ that blog post was such a tease. But it further confirms that something HUGE is happening
  5. ^ "sink ships"? another coaster that "battles" the voyage!
  6. Could those be token blocks given out to those there on the 19th for the big announcement? They could have some sort of logo on the opposite side(s). It looks to me like that they were made at (casper's?) wood shop next to the Legend. Not that that has any significance but it does stir the curiosity nonetheless
  7. There hasn't been any press about it so I'm assuming its still in the restoration process
  8. ^ I just don't see that fitting the park at all
  9. ^ I agree with that. Just with the terrain alone that almost requires a custom built coaster. Plus that just wouldn't be HW's style
  10. The line I find interesting is the "We have completely changed their ride experience!" Seems like a significant change. I can't wait to ride it next month
  11. The silver was just a primer as the Castle is back to being blue again. The crane is now gone and the JLG lifts should be going away soon. Well, I apologize. I was misinformed
  12. During our trip last week while relaxing on the People Mover, we were able to see space mountain with the lights on. I was only able to get my camera out in time to snap one picture but it was something I've been wanting to see for a long time Space Mountain with the lights on
  13. Whatever it may be, something is being done to Maelstrom. However, I noticed this week that the ride seemed to be more popular than previously simply due to more people being drawn into Norway because of Frozen. I think many people didn't know that ride was there until they went towards all the shops and signs that displayed Frozen merchandise. The wait time was often 45 min to and hour this past week. It was a walk on every time when I was in Epcot last year at this time. May be just a coincidence but just my observation. "Dream Building" in/around Maelstrom
  14. I was there this week and asked several employees and they all said its just the new look they're going with. Cranes and sky jacks were up from 12am to 12pm everyday as they were replacing tiles and painting on the silver. This is another reason for having the moat drained, the cranes were sitting in it. I would say the silver look was chosen to enhance the "Celebrate the Magic" projection as well. As we were leaving Friday we noticed that the Dream Builders fences have been put up around all the grassy areas on the half of the central plaza closest to Main Street so we'll see work begin on that very soon. Not very pleasing to the eye at the moment but It'll be a welcome enhancement to crowd control when it's finished.
  15. ^placing a ride there would definitely take away from the "in the woods" feel of both the Raven and the helix section of the Legend
  16. And that's what I'm studying in school. Imagine that
  17. You know its winter time when we're having in-depth discussions and analysis of a covered walkway
  18. I'm more interested in the "hard to miss" covered bridge for the Thanksgiving section
  19. Visited Happy Halloween Weekends tonight. HW has done a great job cloaking the park in all things Halloween. We would find another hidden decoration each time we walked a path. Overall a great atmosphere and something different. As far as the coasters goes, I rode each twice. Raven was running as well as it always has. Legend was very rough throughout (as expected at this time of the year). My first ride was in the very back and that was almost unbearable. However, the next ride in the very front was better yet still very rough. Voyage was surprisingly smooth through the first half to the triple down. It didn't get rough until after the last 90 degree turn. From there on to the station I had to keep my hands down and hang on. But was it painful or unbearable? Not at all. And I was able to ride it at night for the first time in several years and I forgot how incredible of a ride that is. Whole different animal. There's no other coaster that out-does The Voyage at night.
  20. I'll be heading to Happy Halloween Weekends this weekend for the first time, though I've been a regular at Holiday World for years. What should I expect? How will it be different from visiting the park during the regular season? Anything to avoid or must sees? Gracias
  21. "No increase in ticket prices" makes me think they're adding another holiday
  22. I rode the Voyage in late May this year and it seemed to have the roughness of a typical wooden coaster other than the final turn before the brake run. It actually seemed to me that from the camera to the brake run it was a tad bit slower than I remember previously (the last time I rode it was August 2010 and had been on it every year since opening up until that point). I don't know if it was just me or if that happened because of the retracking in that area or what. I just remember previously the final tunnel by the station to the brake run being so intense and fast that I couldn't catch my breath until after the train had stopped and the brakes were doing all they could to stop it. Now, it seems as if the train barely makes it up the final turn and slows into the brakes and the intensity diminishes throughout. Maybe its just me but thats what I seemed to notice. I'll be returning for Happy Halloween weekends so I'll be interested to see how it rides then.
  23. Native American Day? September 27th. I can see issues with being "politically correct" though Columbus Day? October 14th. Might be too similar to Thanksgiving and doesn't fit the September stipulation
