  1. It's quite the adrenaline rush! Are they only running with the VR or could you choose to ride without?
  2. I've been debating a late summer trip to CGA and this really cements it for me. Looks like an awesome ride!
  3. I definitely want to know what Chocolate Crunch is, and I really wish we had blueberry popcorn in the US (along with manners, respect, and the ability to stay to one side when standing on escalators and moving sidewalks).
  4. I completely agree. Xcelerator would also benefit from this, but I doubt either park would make it happen. It's crazy to stand there and watch the 2nd car sit on the brakes for ages while they mess around with the unload/load at the station.
  5. I thought I had a decent assortment of coasters under my belt, but this poll proves to me I need to ride more. Now I just need to convince the hubs that I need a month and about $10k out of our vacation account to make it happen.
  6. Seeing the variety of age groups at Kidzania makes me wonder if they have different levels of training for different ages?
  7. Sounds like you're answering your own question.
  8. Ah, thanks, that is definitely worth a try since it will save us a bunch of hassle.
  9. Wouldn't I have to be in-park to ride Sky Ride?
  10. Just heard back from CP, their answer was " To redeem your Season Passes, you do have to go to the Season Pass Center. " So, unless I'm told something different at the parking gates, I think I'll drive around to the waterpark, park there then walk to the front gate via the new Boardwalk pathway. The Boardwalk pathway does provide unencumbered access (even before the park opens) from the resort/waterpark area to the front gate, right?
  11. Is Whizzer the spiral lift coaster? If so, I rode it back in about 1979. My grandparents lived near Chicago and my parents told us if we behaved all week while visiting them we'd be rewarded with a trip to Great America. For some reason, I don't remember much from the visit but do remember that cool spiral lift. I obviously need to ride it again!
  12. I am so happy they got rid of VR on Revolution, the only time I rode it was with VR and now I have another excuse to get back down there when it's back up and running. I have no idea why they thought moving the VR headsets to Lex Luthor was a good idea either, the only real thrill you get on that tower is from the view at the top...oh and the shaking when a Superman car goes up the back side! I'm also a huge Schwarzkopf fan, and I really appreciate your explanation of why most of his old coasters are still smooth, that ball & socket joint makes so much sense! Montezooma was my first looping coaster back when I was a kid, so it holds a special place in my heart, added plus it still is a kick-butt ride. I honestly can't think of any Schwarzkopf I've ridden that didn't make me smile, including the goofy Wildcat at the Washington State Fairgrounds (although that one left me with some bruises). Knotts is probably my favorite all-around park in California, they have a great ride selection, wonderful history, and an excellent group of workers who really love their jobs. But your pics of the Belmont Giant Dipper make me realize I'm still missing a ton of intriguing credits in that state. I need to spend more time there!
  13. Wow, that would be sweet, I just shot them an email.
  14. Hmmm, maybe I'll park at the waterpark and then if the resort gate can't do the AP's we'll just walk to the front gate. That'll save me from having to move the car halfway through the day. I already entered our pictures online so they won't even have to take our pix.
  15. Thanks guys! I will cease fretting about Fastlane selling out Now that I know we'll have to go to the processing center at the front of the park, we'll just park there the first day and I can move the car in the afternoon. On the CP website it shows the Season Pass center hours as opening at park open, so...we'll have to wait until 9am to get passes taken care of? But more important than that, Brew and BBQ, worth it? I'm thinking 15 tix each might be a good deal and cover us for light lunch and tasting a few new beers for a couple days, or are the food servings tiny, and do we have to use all 15 tickets in one day? We're from the land of microbrew heaven, so although tasting new beers is great, we're more interested in the food options. I've got your recommendation for Trail Tavern noted, we'll be sure to stop in there for our beer fix.
  16. Hi all, long time lurker...blah blah blah. Anywhoo, first things first, thanks for all the great laughs, inspiration and information I've gleaned from this site over the years. Secondarily, I'm taking my nephew to Cedar Point as his graduation gift. We'll be in-park June 19-21st, I've purchased platinum passes because we'll also use them at Knotts and CGA (and I hate paying for parking). I'm also planning on using the Fastlane+ in-park discount that I found out about reading here. I'm so thrilled that SV is back on the Fastlane+ lineup, but I'm concerned that this will increase sales of Fastlane+ to the point that they may be sold out on the 19th when we get there. Do they sell out on Fastlane+ often? I'm watching the website and haven't seen any sellout dates yet, but I know it's still early in the season so crowd levels aren't as high as they'll be in the middle of the month. I know this is pretty much asking you to be prescient, but I guess I'm hoping for some insight. My plan is to check the website in the days running up to our arrival and if I see any days sellout I'll buy FL+ for the 19th and take the hit on the higher price, then buy it for the other two days when we're there on the 19th (if the weather report looks good for those days). Does this make sense? Next question, we're planning on taking afternoon breaks at the waterpark so we'd like to park in that lot if possible, we'll be arriving around 8-8:30 am for early entry, when we get to the gates do we tell them this is what we're doing? Also, are guest services at the Resort Gate set up to process the season passes I've purchased online? I would assume so, but I know where assumptions get me. I am completely amped to ride this lineup of coasters!
