  1. Ah ok. Must have read that wrong.
  2. According to Screamscape (another amusement park site I visit frequently), tests are being made on the second train for Flying Turns. With any luck the coaster might be open for August (crosses fingers). I really hope it does open soon, a new spin on a coaster concept created in the 1920s - 1930s. I expect to visit there in early August, so I'll check the progress.
  3. ^This. I was stuck on a Tilt a Whirl for what was easily 15 minutes because the operator was busy looking at the bungee jump that was next door. For me a ride that is insane is the Cosmotron at Knoebels (an older indoor Himalaya) I don't know what it is about it, but I felt like I would be thrown out of my seat.
  4. Thanks for that! I always forget that there's good food at the front of the park too http://www.knoebels.com/images/pdf/MediaDownloads/Knoebels-park-map.pdf Looking at the map, you'll see the Italian Trapeze (a red number 28). Nearby there's the Kandy Korner (Blue number 9). To the right of the Kandy Korner, there's the apple stand. The Kandy Korner selld caramel and candy apples so it makes sense where the apple stand is. I do find that it's sometimes not open, so in that case probably the Kandy Korner would sell cider too.
  5. Not sure how the Lake Compounce one is. Knoebel's one takes about 15 minutes and proceeds over the main road and up a hillside before going back down. The down part is better as you're facing the park then. It is one of the more expensive rides though at $3.00 per ticket.
  6. Hello all. I've been a fan of amusement parks for as long as I could remember. I find amusement parks to be magical places due to being created for the sole purpose of fun. It's interesting to see how they continue to evolve with new and better rides. As for roller coasters, well, I've been working up the courage to try a few. My favorite park has to be Knoebels. It's only two hours away from my house and was the first park I went to as a kid. I love the fact you can pay as you go, the free parking, admission, and shows, and the fact that it's a lovely park in the woods. Other PA parks like Hersheypark and Dorney Park I enjoy. I'm also drawn to abandoned parks as well. Did you know that in my area of Pennsylvania there were several popular parks now gone? I'm talking about places like Hanson's, Fernbrook, Angela's, Rocky Glen, Luna Park Scranton, and Nay Aug. There's something haunting about them, thinking about what they once were. Aside from parks, I'm an avid fan of fantasy books, movies and art. I'm a moviegoer, lover of music, and a fan of history. So there you have it, me in a nutshell!
