Probably not a launched ride but that's me. The new lifts kinda suck. Hear me out. MF and Maverick are great rides. But, the lift hill is too fast. Meaning, that you don't have that much time to look around and take everything in. Then again, The Beast has the slowest lift hill I have ever been on. There needs to be a nice compromise on lift hill speed. Diamondback's lift hill speed is perfect, not to fast, not to slow. I would love to meet up with some other TPR'ers tomorrow but the weather doesn't look that good. Not really in the mood to stand around in the rain for a coaster unveiling. I might change my mind but I doubt it. Either way, can't wait to see what they thought up. I know i'll be renewing my Platinum Pass for next year. -

Whatever it is I hope it goes upside down, lol. Not really a fan of the upside down coasters at KI. Vortex always kills me. FOF is alright, Invertigo I haven't ridden and Firehawk is weird. If if really is a wing rider that wouldn't be to bad but with one at CP, Great America and Dollywood there's just too many IMO for another one. I would still like to see a Giga or a dive coaster. Either way I will be riding it next year. Hey, a roller coaster is still better than nothing. Glad KI is still getting new stuff as it's my home park. -
Thoughts go out to everyone involved. Coasters are what brings this community together and to lose someone on one hits really close to home. I remember watching a video about TTD and Monty saying that it is one of the safest rides around. The lap bar has two locks and the seat belt has two locks so, you would have to have 4 failures to have an incident. I know that this wasn't the same restraint but not having a seatbelt on a ride doesn't make it any less safe. Like others have said, rides are built with safety in mind. The are made to be fool proof. It will be interesting to see what the investigation brings up. I have never ridden one of these rides but it seems like a restraint failure is almost a non issue. Again, thoughts go out to everyone involved, terrible news.

Yep, just drive around to the back. If anyone ask's, which they won't just tell them Soak City. I have never had a problem parking in the back. In fact, I haven't even parked in the front for a very long time. I would do Maverick first, as the day wears on ride Gatekeeper and Raptor. When I was there Sun-Tues the lines at night were about 5min for Raptor and 30min for Gatekeeper. The line moves much faster on Gatekeeper than Maverick IMO. If you are worried about the heat, Game Day Grille is your spot. They have the "Big" waters unlike everywhere else that has the small plastic cups. Go in, sit at the bar, ask for a water and a menu, act like your going to order something and then leave. That is what I did, worked fine. Being at any park in this sort of heat BLOWS. Finding places with shade or A/C can be a chore all on its own. My fav two spots are the smoking section right by MF and Red Garter Saloon. -

That is terrible news. I have a trip planned for the week of August 4th. If I305 is still down I will cancel it, that was the whole reason for me traveling from Indy. Hopefully it has a speedy recovery. I will be watching for updates. -

Nice pictures, and nice to see the skip-the-line passes! Curious -- where was this picture taken from? http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j196/wingless92/2013-07-16145319-Copy_zps5fcb8d12.jpg Thanks! I should say that I threw my iPhone in the air and then magically hit the shutter button but, lol, it was taken from the Giant Wheel. Didn't have my DSLR on me so iPhone photo's were the only ones that I took. -

Just got back from the POINT! lol. Wow, what an amazing trip. First off, I have been going to CP since 85 kind of a fan. This trip was to ride all of the stuff that I used to ride when I was younger. Got most of it in, Cadillac cars, Cedar Downs, Mine Ride, Corkscrew, Mantis and Turnpike Cars. Had a hell of a lot of fun. Mantis - not as bad as everyone says, people make it out to be the worst coaster ever invented, it is not. Corkscrew - again, not the worst thing. Mean Streak - I love the structure, other than that, ride BLOWS. Rode in the 2nd car. Felt super slow. Also, WTF is up with everyone complaining about how bumpy it is? I thought it was right up there with The Beast. IMO Blue Streak is WAY worse then Mean Streak. As for the Mecca Motel it wasn't that bad. It was clean, the A/C worked and it was $35 a night. The shower head was really low so that made for some interesting showers. For some reason the toilet took forever to fill. Will stay here again. Would recommend also. Want to save $$$ stay at Mecca. I won one of the tweetups at CP also. Got front of the line passes for MF!!! Used them for the front row. Wow, still prefer the backseat but the front is a must ride. Here are some pic's/vid's from the trip. -

I would agree on MF. Easily my favorite coaster of all time, that is, until I ride I305 in August, lol. As for Magnum. The first part of the ride is great. Good drops, some fun airtime and a tunnel. The second half blows, the bunny hops give my thighs a beating. Other than that I still love it to death. Gemini is by far my 2nd fav. That is one ride I can ride all day. Blue train, back seat. The hand chopper is awesome. If i'm not riding MF I'm on Gemini. It was my first big coaster and i'm still in love with it. Anyone else going to the point on July 14-17? -

Just got back from my trip to CP!!! Headed up from Indy on Sunday morning with a friend from college. He had never been so it was a shock to him at first. Picked up our VIP jackets at the front and good thing too, got an employee discount at DQ later that night, lol. Rides: Gatekeeper - nice addition to the park. Rode in the back all 4 times. 3 on left 1 on right. Left is better IMO. Did run into the bouncing that people were talking about. Ride restraints are awesome, a bit tight but nothing bad. I fit in the normal seats, lol 6'3 260 40in waist. MF - rode about 10 times. Always in the back seat. Friend loved it. By far his favorite ride there. Raptor - Rode it once. Still gives me the spinnies, lol. Iron Dragon - twice, still a great ride TTD - once, in the back seat. Great pop over the top hat. Friend loved it also, just really short. Maverick - twice, still pumping, but gotta hold your head. Blue Streak - once, it was all I could bear. Rough as poop, lol Cedar Creek Mine Ride - I still love this ride. Back seat, screaming like a girl down the drop is priceless. Mean Streak - friend rode it twice back seat and middle. Didn't make a difference. Rough as poop he said. Gemini - 10 always in the back. Blue train is by far the best. The steel beam of doom is awesome on this ride. By far and away my favorite coaster ever. Magnum - twice in the back, 3 in the middle and once in front. Still love that thing, the return trip from the pretzel turn is rough, but still fun. A great 4 days at the point for sure. By far the best deal is getting chilli cheese fries and getting one fry and two drinks for free. Here are some pic's. My friend and I on the CP webcam. Front seat? yes please. Best platinum deal around Fun arcade game In line for Maverick Sitting in the smoking section. Leaning tower of Gatekeeper Last site before leaving. Going to go back two more times this season. Just can't get enough of this place. Been going here since 85 and it keeps getting better and better -

I do lean into the turns lol. The restraints come down right on my collar bone/shoulders. I guess that's the price you pay for being tall. -

I like Maverick but they need to change the restraints, they beat the hell outta my shoulders. Then again, i'm pretty tall. I rode it twice in one day last year and I will never do that again. I wonder if it's any better in the front. I've always ridden it in the back. -

Hey everybody, long time lurker, first time poster. Kings Island is my home park now. Been going to Cedar Point since 1985. Since I moved to Indy I wanted a closer park to call home and i'm happy that Kings Island is that place. I will be at the park a bunch this summer, at least once a week. I will be starting this adventure on May 3rd. I was thinking about going this Saturday but it looks like the weather isn't going to cooperate. If anyone is going to be there on Friday the 3rd I would love to meet up with some TPR peeps. I will be with a friend from college that hasn't been there in 10 years. Thanks everyone.
