Paula, Can you update us on Giraffica? I'm not sure what it has been like this year, but I've heard it's operations have not be good. Also, I found an article about the Golden Ticket Awards calling the Wildebeest the "Wilderbeest." The first thing that came to mind is Holiday World adding to the station announcements, "This here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!" http://www.wdrb.com/story/23373249/holiday-world-takes-an-international-splash-for-being-the-best -

The Sinister Clowns area will include a walk through attraction (free) with a spinning tunnel and a walk through the normally employees only break area that is being converting. Going through there today, I was extremely impressed with how cool it is going to be for free. The Gnawlins' Hollow area will also be a free walk through although this one sounds like it's going to be pretty small. Basically a normally backstage area behind the arcade will be opened up and converted. This area is the space between the arcade and the Scooby-Doo dark ride building that gives the illusion that they are all just one building. Anyway, talking to Dave tonight on my way to drop off my keys, he seemed really excited talking about the insane amount of theming. There is an employee preview night this Wednesday, the 25th, so I will let you guys know any kind of reviews of which attractions are the best without including any spoilers. I hope that everyone who went to Daredevil Days today enjoyed having all nine coasters to themselves and had a great day. -

Hello everyone! Fright Fest prep is in full swing! If you haven't been down to the park recently, the park decorations are going up slowly each week. The haunts are being put together inside of their locations, and a really awesome Blind Fury facade has gone up by the Thunder River queue. In front of the park, we have one of our new zombie paintball hayride wagons sitting between security and ticket sellers. It looks really cool! Also, if you head over to the Hannibarrels location (future location of Tsunami Soaker), you can see the set up going on the the circus side show themed scare zone. It appears that they are setting up one of those spinning tunnels that you walk through. There are a bunch of weird animal statues with blood (red paint) inside the walls of our employee cafe area. Also, the giant wall to get to the employee cafe in that area was just painted a bluish color. It looks great compared to the old grey paint. Next weekend, I'm going to take pictures of the circus statues and tents being stored there as well as a mini trip report of some of our backstage building including the old bumper cars and hayride wagons lined up in the parking lot. If anyone is going on the 14th, I'll be at the front gate all day. I'm in a wheelchair, so I'm easy to spot. Please come over and say hi. On the 15th, I'll be in season pass processing. -

Paula, I gotta say, that video was amazing. Whoever put that together did a better job than the big corporate parks! However, I would bet my summer Six Flags paycheck that we're gonna see another announcement for 2014. I believe this is their best PR "trick" ever. Make everyone think that it's an awesome flat and then come out with something else. Besides, then the flat will get attention. If they announce two rides together, the big one would get all of the attention. This way, they get double the publicity. -

The area you are referring to is being saved for Hurricane Harbor expansion, including a possible second entrance to HH. -

I'm still believing in the 17th St. Patrick's Day. I can't believe nobody is going with me on that. -

A large amount of our guests have been to, or regularly go to, Six Flags Great America. We will definitely not be getting a wing coaster. Besides, Dave said that he would rather have something that moves fast and is intense like Batman rather than something like X-Flight, which he describes as moving too slow through the inversions because of its weight. There's also another big reason of why I know we won't be getting a wing coaster, but I'm sworn to secrecy on that for now. If he had his way, he would build a B&M Dive Machine (with the smaller cars) to replace Ninja with a first dive going under the train tracks and coming out like a vertical loop on the other side. Obviously that would still be years off, and after a Boss redo, so that doesn't really matter, but it's nice to see he cares about getting something awesome. -

^ That's probably it. For instance, I saw the bucket of pony tail holders on Flickr, and then later that evening the blog about the roof cleaning was posted. By the way, I accidentally told a guest at another park that Splashin' Safari closed at 6, so they needed to wait for the supervisors to sweep the park for lost and found items. I couldn't figure out why they gave me such weird looks until I had said "Splashin' Safari" two or three times. I guess it ranks up there with the time I used the name "ZOOMbabwe" in history class because I didn't realize the country was actually called Zimbabwe. EDIT: I still can only see the first 17 HoliBlog posts for August. I'm pretty tech savvy, but no matter what I click, it won't show me that first page. It just defaults the next page's posts onto it. The only way I can get to see any of the others is by direct link. -

^ That was me! I was night Lead at ticket takers. We were actually discussing some small aesthetic and logistical changes to the front plaza there. Next time stop by and say hi. Dave especially loves to chat, and with Dave, he'll answer you straight up about the park's future. I'm really glad you enjoyed your day at the park. We'll see. Unfortunately so much that happens isn't set in stone and can change at any time. They would like to, though. -

So if you go on the Holiblog, some pages say that there are 22 posts for August on the side bar, while others say there is only 17. It seems like there are some that are hidden or only available by direct link (i.e. http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/whats-new). Also, after checking their Flickr page, as I do daily, there is a picture titled "Rocket J. Squirrel" that I've posted below. I wonder what it could be for. Direct link: -

Three Things: 1. Park management did NOT have a meeting with RMC about the Boss. Any Boss/RMC work would be years off still. 2. As others said, the current plan is to have Tsunami Soaker in the Hannibarrels site. When it comes to the name, Dave said that it turns out that people would actually be happier with a name that describes the attraction more than one that fits a theme. 3. This was the first day of processing 2014 passes. We actually added a couple of cool new passes this year. Also, we have some great deals right now if you guys are interested in getting passes. Here's a quick summary: -$29.99- Go Kart pass. 2 rides per day in the park. -$59.99- Dragons Wing pass. 2 single flights per day in the park. -$29.99- Tube Pass. 1 single tube per day in the park. -Season Passes- Buy 4 or more passes, and the price is $54.99 with a free gold pass upgrade for each pass. - Single passes are $64.99 each. I hope I didn't sound like I was pushing the products too much, I just thought it was interesting how the prices are right now, and the Go Kart and Dragons Wing passes. -

Happy early birthday!!! I'll send you an edible arrangement in advance, because I'll be busy watching HW for the new St. Patricks Day land, which has apparently been rumored around town. The Facebook posts that people posted on HW's wall are gone or else I would post a link. Only time will tell I guess. -

What's the change next year? Also any updates or pictures of the hannibarrels? There are no visible changes to the Hannibarrel site besides the addition of a skeleton for Fright Fest, which suggests that no work will really be done until after Fright Fest. And with the change, I'm still waiting for explicit permission on what I can say, but I will say that it's going to really effect my job...speaking of which, I just got promoted to a lead!!! Now that I'll be staying later, I'm hoping to see one of the ghosts sometime after close. -

Convenient how she didn't respond to this... Pirate Splash Battle back by Giraffica anyone? I'd love to see a splash battle, but I don't know if they'd do a pirate theme rather than some kind of safari theme. What about a swinging pirate ship ride themed to the Mayflower in Thanksgiving too? I think it'd be a classic ride that the GP would love. -

The only thing that seems weird about a Halloween addition is that I remember them saying that they want to work on expanding the park outward by Thanksgiving first to help spread people out instead of overcrowding the front. But who knows, they could be getting "The Bat" wing coaster from the fake Kings Island leaked webpage back by the legend helix. -

He still owns 40% of the company, and he's told me that overall, both parties share the same vision for the park itself. Also, he's working with Lori on the park's future with that NY Theme park board member acting as the messenger between them if I'm not mistaken. -

I trust her. She actually meant it. There was nothing deceptive about it. I'm pretty sure HW is in great hands. Lori: Will's wife. She spent years with Will and working at HW. Matt: Will's best friend. He knew exactly what Will's vision was. Dan: Will's brother. They talked about HW daily, and talking to him, you can tell he loves the park. Below I've attached some interesting and relevant screenshots of Dan's comments on the Holliwood Nights page. He addresses the future including a hotel. I think that they're all interesting and relevant. Here he goes into actually costs. Anyone else think it's interesting he includes an Entrance complex? Maybe for a second one down by Thanksgiving? So, no hotel for a while at least. Looks like Dollywood isn't the only one with a massive ten year plan.
