Texas Tornado at Wonderland Amusement ParkUltimate replied to Ultimate's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! ^That sounds cool, I had a look today but I couldn't see it Also, if you look at that picture on RCDB again, has anyone noticed that the two halves of the large circular structure are mis-aligned? Or is it just me?

If you look at this photo: http://rcdb.com/254.htm?p=40489, you can see that the loop of Texas Tornado at Wonderland Amusemet Park has a large outer support structure, but it appears to be the wrong size. Does anyone know why it is? Was the train failing to conplete the loop, so they had to make it smaller?

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion ThreadUltimate replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! It's odd that they are made out of steel however. I'd imagine that they woul rust or just not look great. I was expecting them to be concrete.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion ThreadUltimate replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! Without the MCBR, it would still be able to have 3 trains: one in the station, one on the lift hill and one actually in the ride layout. Or am I incorrect?

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion ThreadUltimate replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! This has probably been asked before, but are Hersheypark scrapping the Roller Soaker or selling it, as they appear to be taking it down very carefully!

Jumping over/crossing station trackUltimate replied to Ultimate's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! Thanks! I guess my local park just isn't very safe then lol

What are the rules about an employee who is operating a roller coaster jumping over the track in a station while the ride is running? Is it bad? They do it at my local park when operating their ZL42, because they should have two or three people running it, but they only use one. This means that the guy running it has to climb over the train or track every time to let people in, then do it again to reach the control panel. Also, when looking at pictures of Ultimate (my user name! ) at Lightwater Valley, there are foot prints all over the front of the train. Is this dangerous? Are there any laws on this?

There's a picture of it here: http://rcdb.com/1603.htm?p=21160 . This was built in 1996, so they clearly only started changing loop sizes/styles significantly after the mid-90s.

Flamingo Land Discussion ThreadUltimate replied to ParkTrips's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! Although this is just a rumour, it seems very likely this is true. If you look at the old Corkscrew spot on Google Maps, then compare it to an existing Volare, they are almost exactly the same size. I was really hoping for a Wooden Twister/Out & Back roller coaster, but awell

Flamingo Land Discussion ThreadUltimate replied to ParkTrips's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! According to http://www.screamscape.com/html/flamingo_land.htm, Flamingo Land could be getting a Volare Flying roller coaster from Zamperla

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion ThreadUltimate replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! Will this drop get the record of steepest? Near the top, the train will be moving downward at a greater angle than Takabisha?

Most Complicated RestraintsUltimate replied to tribar's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! I got really confused with the motorbike restrains on Velocity at Flamingo Land - I thought they were going to send the train out without fastening me in, as I couldn't figure out how to do it. Turns out that it was actually just a really slow dispatch (a usual at that park). Also, at the opposite end of the scale, I went on an enterprise, then thought my car's seatbelt had been broken, so I went to the next carriage, and that one didn't have one either. Obviously now I know you don't even need restraints!
