Opening day 1981 is here, Joe here, and let me show you what is going on in the park on this sunny May day. Well The main entrance plaza is flooding with guests, all heading for the new attractions. The amusment square's new ride is well, not popular yet. But the park isn't very crowded today. Palkia's first few riders seem to like it. Palkia was a huge gamble by manfuacture, Arrow Dynamics. They never have designed such a complex layout before, and this was a totaly new type of design for them. Arrow told us, "Where not out of the woods yet, we have to see how it ages." But to be honest, as of now, it is a succsess. Palkia, has some interesting inversions. A Batwing, and a corkscrew, first drop, makes for a 1 in a kind ride ride. Our final image for today is the quiet lake. We will be holding a contest to name the lake, and the winner will get a free season pass. So think up some names. Thats all for today. -Joe

March 28th 1981 Hello, its Joe, It has been forever since I have updated you on what is going in the park. It is only a week till opening day for our second season of operation. So here is the basic update: 5 new rides, including 1 new coaster, located by Thundershock and other 4 rides are added toward the back of the park. So here is the adapted list. - Palkia- Manufactured by Arrow Dynamics of Clearfeild Utah, it flips you upside down 4 times, 3 of these inversions are revolutionary. The ride is themed after an ailen codenamed Palkia, who attacks the earth. You must be 48 inches tall to ride Palkia. -Dodgems- Classic Bumper Car attraction. You must be 48 inches tall to ride, 46 with an adult. -Chairswing- This gentle swing ride gently swings you around it's axis. You must be 48 inches tall to ride, 42 with an adult sitting on the outside. Rowing Boats- Located in the lake, this boat ride can be as long as you want, and is a very relaxing ride. You must be 48 inches tall to ride, 46 inches tall with a life jacket, 36 with an adult Swan Pedal Boats- Take a trip around our lake in a four man swan. See Rowing Boats for ride requirements. Anyway on to the photos The main entrance looks lonely without people This is the Dodgems ride. I have heard from my bosses that the buildng is only temporary, and a new building could be built. The lake will sure be popular with families wanting to relax. Chairswings are also new for 1981,and my bosses also said somthing special maybe coming to this ride. Here's the newest coaster to Montgomery Gardens, Palkia, this piece of twisted metal is so twisty that the 3 trains had to go back to the manufacturer for some changes. 2 of the trains (Green and Blue) have returned but Red still is out at the manufacturer.I'm hoping Red will return for opening day. Palkia is a Martian that lands on Earth and causes havoc to all Earthlings. The Signature element of Palkia is the Batwing. I hope to see you on opening day. P.S. I hope I have more updates.

June 27th 1980 "MG81?" Hello everyone, its been 2 months since I last updated, I have been very busy with "MG81." The codename for third roller coaster opening 1981, construction has also started and alot of landscaping has been done to its site. Crates have arrived and some track has been erected, leaving coaster lovers serching for clues. Anyway, here is today's park update. Our day starts off with the park entrance On a hot day like this, It would have suprise me if Sawmill Splashdown wasn't filled Amusment Square is busy today Swashbuckler and Teacups are attracting huge crowds Heres an interesting addition, 2 of 4 new rides will be located in this new area. Swashbuckler was an instant hit with families. Now, on to the fun stuff, MG81's station has been finished If your a real coaster nut, you'd know what manufacture this coaster is. This is the completed transfer track. Also, see the pools of water. More track and supports have been sent from Clearfield Utah, hint hint.. and are stored next to the site. RCTTrio- The next update will have more flowers and the Landscape will be adapted, the storyline will develop, and the landscaping will change due to the additions of new rides. I wanted it to seem like the park is more focused on rides at first. May 3rd 1980 Hi viewers Joe here, its opening day here at Montgomery Gardens, a few things has happend since I last updated so lets take a look. First, here is the entrance building, people piled into the park and were treated to free balloons. The thrill seekers in the park were overjoyed with Thundershock Sawmill Splashdown is so popular, we had to add more boats and lower the interval time between dispatches Coal Miner had some updates to it, fans love it. If timing is just right, two trains will have a flybye in the near miss crossover. Heres somthing different. These two rides, Swashbuckler and Teacups were suppost to arrive with the other flat rides. But a delay caused these two rides to come 2 weeks ago. They are still undegoing testing, so these two wern't running today. The theming on Swashbuckler was a suprise to me, I never had even heard about it. But, In 3 weeks time the park didn't do to shabby of a job. I have also been told that the flowers around Scramblur will be replaced by some other type of theming. I am hoping natural trees, because the Alabama lanscape doesnt have much. Garden cars, like Sawmill Splashdown, has needed extra vehicles to supplement the crowds. It has been extremely popular, with the guests. Thundershock broke down later in the day. What might be going here? This will also be a sight of future development. Those dumb Fun and Only commercials are bad enough, but I saw somewhere on youtube, that Cedar fair crammed the word Michigans Adventure in the spot where they say the parks name.

I'll do some upgrading, actually the scenary and the buildings was what I was most concered about.

Family owned, you can get more creative that way.

Your doing a nice job making the Inverted Coaster and the Floorless Coaster actually have a B&M look to them.

April 12th,1980 Hello, I am Joe George, Public Realations Manger of the new Montgomery Gardens Amusment Park, here in Montgomery Alabama. My job is to give you the info about what is going on in the park. Even though our opening day is still three weeks away, I will show you around the park as our fine staff prepares for the season. This is the main entrance building, it contains, information areas, restrooms, cash machines, as well as the ticket booths. Behind that is the main square. This is the Amusement Square, containing the Grand Wheel, Carousel, Octupus ride and Scramblur. This area we think will atract the whole family. Say hello to Sawmill Falls, designed by world renound amusment ride designers, Arrow Dynamics, this flume ride will take you into a sawmill then up a 40ft incline then splashing you down into a pool of water. This is one of two rides in the Calamity Mine section of the park. We know this ride will be a family hit, Riders must be 46 inches tall to ride, 36 inches with a responsible adult. This is Coal Miner, also located in Calamity Mine, this Arrow Dynamics Mine Train Coaster, speeds along its track, having countless near misses and a helix that will test even the toughest coaster challengers. Riders must be 48 inches tall to ride, this ride also may not allow larger riders. This is our vintage car attraction, riders will be able to drive along gardens and beautiful landscapes in a car that resembles a car from the early 1900's, this will be another family hit. Our final ride is our largest. Thundershock, standing at a dizzying 125ft tall, is the tallest coaster in the South. And it will test anyone who rides it, Desinged by Al Collins, and Jeff Gramke, and built by Charles Dinn, the same man who constructed, The Beast at Kings Island in Ohio.
