  1. This is much better than your other park. I still think you need to cut down on the amount of ornamental trees you use though.
  2. Oh I know that and completely understand that, but surely the fact that there is still a gaming forum here suggests people want to share screens and feedback with each other. If people are posting screens here they are asking for feedback, so surely when someone else posts a screen people should feel a need to give feedback on them as they would hope to get feedback on their own. If that makes sense of course I mean what I was directly referring to was earlier in this topic when someone had posted a screen and someone else had come along and posted a screen straight after without even giving any sort of feedback to what the person above had posted.
  3. I like that you've taken the time to go back and re-do certain areas that weren't as good as they are now. In regards to your problems, reduce the amount of shops and toilets etc to enable you to build more rides. Possibly think about removing any rides you don't think are necessarily needed, and if you have any trackitecture, consider removing it. With the trainers, make sure you set RCT2 and all the trainers to run in Windows XP Service Pack 2 mode, and disable visual theme and also disable desktop composition. This should allow all features in 8cars and Son of Beast to work except when it comes to track merging, which with windows 7 cannot be done in the normal way. To merge tracks you'll either have to get someone else to do it for you, or do it via map object manipulation, which I can link you to a tutorial, but I wont unless it's asked for as it will link to my site (NE) and I don't know if that would be allowed or not. I hope this helps
  4. I like this, it's got a certain charm to it. I'd watch out when it comes to the foliage though, there seems to be an overuse of the ornamental trees and bushes, don't be affraid to leave some parts open and just plain grass.
  5. Is it me or is there a lack of people replying to screens in here? In the terms that some people just ignore what's been posted directly above them and post their own screen Anyhoo, Xtreme, I love that screen, the zip line looks great, I'd also ignore those that have said to colour the rockwork grey as it looks perfect as it is, the rocks blend into the landscaping here, they don't stick out like a sore thumb like they would if they were grey. It's great to see you improving.
  6. I know what you mean, and I believe that it's physically impossible.
  7. Ah! That makes total sense now. Thanks for clearing that up!
  8. I was already confused by the voting system, now even more so Little Leaper, which I voted highly because I thought it was a really nice little layout, got 9 votes and rated 3 stars. Starflyer got 8 votes and rated 4 stars. Now, as I didn't get disqualified, I'm a bit confused as to why 3 stars beat 4 stars, especially when there was a similar amount of votes etc. I'm sure there is a logical reason lol, I just don't understand the voting process very well. Don't get me wrong, I'm not being funny because my track didn't win, I thought CoasterRollin's track was great, I just want to better understand the voting system
  9. Very cute. The issue I have is that the tables in the middle of the path seem a bit random in their placement, also the wagon in the planter. The foliage itself is lovely, as is the architecture. The park is really shaping up nicely.
  10. Extended chain??? If everyone is talking about the supporting being done with 8cars - it's not. See the quote below (from NE) for how it was done, it's a handy little glitch within RCT2: Fair enough, I will admit to using 8cars to add in the archery sign on the path, 1 roof tile to go over the entrance building and some areas of the foliage. However, as it hasn't had any effect to the ride itself (it hasnt been hacked one bit) I figured that a little bit of 8cars to make the entry more aesthetically pleasing would have been fine. I am now aware that no 8cars whatsoever is allowed, not even to the surroundings (which technically aren't meant to be judged ) so if you wish to disqualify me, then do so, as I had fun building anyway, and will come back next round with another entry. Either that or let me re-submit a non 8cars version (with the archery, 1 roof tile and little bushes removed).
  11. My Junior Woodie is complete. I'm a bit worried on the whole voting aspect of things as mine has only just been uploaded today, which means it hasnt had the same amount of voting, however I really had fun building Starflyer: A Classic Junior Wooden Rollercoaster Starflyer can be found in the Game Exchange HERE Enjoy!
  12. Fantastic screens. Really immersive atmosphere and the little details are brilliant.
  13. I'm still deciding on whether to go for what everyone seems to be doing, the compact traveller, or whether to go for a more custom layout. I know that terrain isn't allowed to be altered, but still, you can't beat a custom Schwarzkopf in my opinion, even if it is on flat land.
  14. Brilliant, thanks for clearing that up Edit: Is there anything against entering more than 1 track? Or is it only 1 track per person?
  15. Sorry, can I just ask, the B&M Twister contest, does this need to be added to the Game Exchange by 26th August or in the week after???
  16. Since you don't fully meet our qualifications? Again, I'd like to point out that you don't have to be an incredible RCTer to be a member and contributer to RCT. There are a lot of incredibly skilled members at NE, but there are also those that play the game for fun, or like to recieve tips etc. I'll pick out Robbie as an example here, 3 years ago when he joined the site, he wasn't the amazing RCTer he is today, however he has grown in his skill, and I'm sure that the members NE have helped him along the way. Now he is one of our more established members, his attitude hasn't changed one bit, he is still the same Robbie that joined 3 years ago, just a tab bit more skilled and knowledgable. There once was a time when NE was intimidating, I was intimidated back in the day and lurked from the very beginning until I felt 'worthy' to join, but those times have gone. We aren't here to be elite, you don't have to be outstanding at the game to be a member, you just have to love the game.
  17. As an admin at New Element I felt that I should explain what we are about. Some would say we are elitist, and to a certain extent, we are, but that doesn't mean we are egotistical and aren't friendly. Our slice of the RCT Community does indeed pride itself on producing quality releases, but we also pride ourselves on having a large number of members from every corner of the world, all at different skill levels, all playing the game for fun, all posting feedback on each other's parks. This is what we are about, this is what we are here for, to be a large, friendly forum dedicated to the game. Certain aspects of our site can be portrayed as elitist, because at one point in our 10 year history that is what we considered ourselves to be, but time moves on, and whilst our ambitions and goals change, our history becomes tradition, so things stay the same, which is the reason behind our 'policies'. Throughout our history we have awarded parks of high standard with acolades, which have changed over the years but currently reside as Bronze, Silver, Gold, Spotlight & Design. This is the backbone of our site. We feel that by awarding acolades and points, we aren't creating an elitist attitude, but rewarding those who clearly have skill in the game. This provides a lot of members with inspiration and aspiration, therefore improving their own abilities so that they themselves can recieve an acolade. The reasoning behind not allowing previously released parks to be given an acolade is because of the effort our members put in to providing each release with a full scale aerial, a website banner, a logo and a park review. All of which take time from our volunteers. It doesnt state anywhere on our site that people can't release their park anywhere else after, and those that don't want to recieve an acolade have every right to post their release anywhere else before NE. We aren't against TPR in anyway whatsoeverr, we are one community at the end of the day, just split over several sites, it would be great to see TPR members joining NE just as its great to see NE members here at TPR. I would like to stress to everyone, that before judging our site on what we seem to be, join up and find out for yourself what we are about. We are simply a free to join forum dedicated to celebrating one of the best PC games of all time. Louis!
