  1. Well I was reading up on some rumors and had a few edited screen shots lying around. Here is what might come within the next few years. If anyone would like to correct some of the drawing so that a more accurate drawing can be done, let me know. I can try to draw it more realistic in a way. This is basically all the rumors I heard wrapped up into a neat photo. This is a more general picture (sorta) of what the last one was. Here is just basically property lines and general areas of what we can see going on.
  2. Sorry, I have been away. Actually when I first saw the footers at the final drop all I could think of was, "They built giant blocks of concrete on top of small blocks of concrete. They really want this thing to last forever." For those who are interested in the Christmas Town Employment Process, and for those I have neglected to respond to: As for Christmas Town employing goes. All the regular employees are there by volunteering. During August/September time they have forms in place so that any employee who wishes to continue work for Christmas Town, can continue. The neat thing about this is, when they go to volunteer to continue to work, they can choose almost any job in the park they want to do. During November, if you choose a different department, they will do a quick training for you. They never hire new people just for Christmas Town to my knowledge. Other than maybe performers might be new hires, but that is it. However, when I say volunteer I mean, they volunteer to continue to work for that job's pay rate. So they still get paid what they usually do during Christmas Town, but they get the option to stay on or quit if they want to. Anyways, I think they will do more with the building, as far as outside scenery goes. After all, they did build on to the little plywood stand-up buildings they had for BBW when the back became visible to the public. Although I must say, I am very upset with the lack of theme put into the sides of Curse of DarKastle. Although construction seems to be going swimmingly for now *knocks on wood*.
  3. Netdvn, I will be working all weekend this weekend, if you want to come by and say hi, I will be at one of the Oktoberfest games. I will probably have a ton of maps on me. It is upsetting though. the very first night I didn't have any maps, and the most popular question was, "do you have any maps?" type questions or "do you know the show times?" type questions. Ever sine I hold on to like a dozen. Sadly, I have hardly ever been asked those type questions ever since
  4. Me personally, I would love that, it would make me lmafo. However, this sounds like a great idea, the gift exchange, but not sure if I can. I will definitely PM you Brandy at the very latest Saturday morning. I have school tomorrow morning then work right after until really late. However tagging on to what was asked, I suppose a real surprise gift would probably be the best to get.
  5. Hidden Christmas Town Fact - 2 of the penguins Busch Gardens Williamsburg borrowed from SeaWorld died during Christmas Town last year. This is because they were South American penguins and they were put on ice. Which was a poor decision in hindsight. Ah yes thank you! You are right, 1 person per 25 sq. ft. Also, thanks to my research here is what else I came up with thanks to an area calculator I found via Google: Whole Areas Closed: - Festa Italia = 1.5 Acres - Sesame Street: Forest of Fun = 0.91 Acres - Land of Dragons = 0.73 Acres - Loch Ness Monster Area = 0.20 Acres - Floating Bridge (includes Hear Attack Hill) = 0.53 Acres - Griffon Area = 0.37 Acres - Jack Hanna's Wild Reserve (except main path) = 0.97 Acres - France Sky Ride = 0.10 Acres - Log Flume = 0.15 Acres - Festa Train Station = 0.10 Acres - Germany Sky Ride = 0.12 Acres - Pompeii = 0.16 Acres - Curse of DarKastle = 0.22 Acres **I was counting ride queues, not the entire ride. Some queues I included in the general areas.** Total Closed Area = 6.06 Acres or 261,360 Sq. Ft. The original problem: During the regular operating season Busch Gardens Williamsburg allows 36K people in their park. If the park lays on approximately 21 acres or 920,847 square feet of 'developed' land, with the above mentioned closed areas, what would be the new limit of people they would allow in the park? Here is what I am thinking: Regular Season Max. Capacity (MC) = 36,000 Max. Space (MS) = 920,847 sq. ft. Sq. Ft. per person (P) = ??? MS / MC = P 920,947 / 36,000 = 25.58 25.58 Sq. Ft. per person Christmas Town Max. Capacity (MC) = ??? Max. Space (MS) = 659,487 Sq. Ft. = 920,947 - 261,360 Sq. Ft. per person (P) = 25.58 MS / MC = P MS / P = MC 659,487 / 25.58 = 25,781.35 So in conclusion, the maximum capacity for Christmas Town should be 25,781.35 people. If each person had 25.58 Sq. Ft. per person which is the approximate space each person has during the regular season. This is of course basic algebra. If you know algebra this should be a breeze. Now if only I was any good at physics. Also, I did round a lot and use basic generic areas in area calculation so this number is not exact but really dang close! Anyone see any problems let me know and I will try to fix the equation. I know it is not perfect, but it is, like I said, really close. Edit --- Verbolten should open up sometime in April 2012. The park has basically said spring, but a top guy working on the coaster let slip that they plan on it opening in April 2012. Error --- So I made a mistake! I just edited it, so it should look nicer. Please let me know if I make any more mistakes. This should be the most accurate estimate of capacity ever right down to the decimal point.
  6. I was being a bit sarcastic with that question But, actually if you think of all the places guests can't go during Christmas Town, it seems to be a lot. Here is what I come up with: Whole Areas Closed: - Festa Italia - Sesame Street: Forest of Fun - Land of Dragons - Loch Ness Monster Area - Floating Bridge - Heart Attack Hill - Griffon Area - Jack Hanna's Wild Reserve (except main path) Ride Queues Closed: - Loch Ness Monster - Griffon - France Sky Ride - Log Flume - Apollo's Chariot - Festa Train Station - Germany Sky Ride - Pompeii - Curse of DarKastle Anybody think of any thing else? Here is the math problem During the regular operating season Busch Gardens Williamsburg allows 36K people in their park. If the park lays on approximately 21 acres or 920,847 square feet of 'developed' land, with the above mentioned closed areas, what would be the new limit of people they would allow in the park? Here is what I am thinking: Regular Season Max. Capacity (MC) = 36K Max. Space (MS) = 920,847 sq. ft. Person(s) per sq. ft. (P) = ??? MS / MC = P 920,947 / 36,000 = 25.58 25.58 person(s) per sq. ft. Christmas Town Max. Capacity (MC) = ??? Max. Space (MS) = ??? Person(s) per sq. ft. (P) = 25.58 MS / MC = P MS * P = MC Here is the trick! What is the space during Christmas Town?
  7. Yeah, I was wondering what those things were, I was walking out of work the other night and saw them (by the way, you know you work there late when there isn't any music playing anymore.)there. I thought they were peculiar. Now I understand what the are doing. They are preparing the area for supports and track building. I think it would actually be kind of funny if they used those to put up a big black tarp so we couldn't see the outside track. Talk about secrecy . Anyways, I think park expected attendance for Fridays is 6K. It is sad they don't expect more and the first Friday was the fastest Christmas Town reached capacity. The second Friday was a bit calm than the first Saturday but busier than that first Sunday. The Maximum Capacity for Christmas Town is like 18K where as during the normal season it is 36K. Big difference there. I wonder why? Also, I am planning on visiting Christmas Eve, and since it will be my only time going this year, I want the ultimate Christmas Town experience! Pictures and all so look forward to that . That is unless my plans are some how ruined but they shouldn't .
  8. ^^ Wow, they should have that in the script! Then all the children will really learn the true meaning of Christmas ----- I just got the Red Laser app for my iPhone! I can finally see what those QR codes refer to!!!
  9. ^ In the show, Abby is learning about Christmas. When she notices the presents she asks the other characters on stage, "Is it someone's birthday?" Then they reply, "No, it's not for someone's birthday" which has caused some controversial issues on their Facebook page. She wasn't trying to refer to Christ or if anyone was born on that day in the audience. It was more of a 'I don't understand Christmas, but there are birthday presents' type of thing. It has been debated this is inappropriate because it completely denies Christianity , however on the other side it is seen as nothing more than a simple line that they looked too much into . I don't see it as a problem, but I am thinking that yeah they could change the line a bit so it avoids birthdays all together. However, then that means they shouldn't or can't appeal to those who don't celebrate the religious values of the holiday.I am just curious to know where you guys stand.
  10. Does anyone think Abby in the Sesame Street show ask if Christmas is someone's birthday and given the reply of no? Someone was complaining that it was an offensive line. I just don't think it was meant in the way she is taking it. Also, look forward to Verbolten in April. I saw a video on Youtube where this guy from the company making the coaster that it will open in April 2012.
  11. Yeah, I made the mistake, I thought the supports was the track, silly me, because I saw them from a difference. But either way, it still looks a million times amazing already.
  12. Yeah, a forest green, personally when I first heard green I thought it would look too out there. However, seeing the tracks, it doesn't look that bad at all. I think there was a roller coaster named after the Hulk and it is a worn out green, sorta like that. But there was still a few pieces that looked wrapped up? I think the supports are black. The tracks just caught my eye. Yeah I love this picture it is awesome.
  13. Hey Behind the Thrills has posted an article about Christmas Town! It says: Which by the picture they posted, looks interesting. I mean I am disappointed it isn't more, but with how Pompeii looks, I think that would just be fine. Then there is Gloria! That sounds like this show is a must see when visiting. Finally, they have a picture saying, "Your present is our future." With the Verbolten logo gift wrapped. Also, here is a little spoiler (sorta) Verbolten's track is going to be green. Not a cartoony bright green. More of a pine tree green. More like this. Here is the picture *Spoiler* Pompeii in Polar Pathway

  15. I have some hot news for you! Blitzen-Volt sounds like the name of the coaster. Some poster something about it on their Facebook and it was deleted almost instantly. However, I can't find any trademark information that could be leading to this. The guys said, on the main BGW website instead of it saying "2012 Coaster" it said Blitzen-Volt. It also had a high speed of 81 mph. Although after some checking it wasn't there and he said it was probably a glitch. What do you guys think?? Edit - So BGWFans.com is doubting the reality of this info, somewhat. I say this is very likely. If it is multi-launch, it's highest speed could be 81 mph. I think we are in for one wild ride with this coaster.
  16. Yeah I know, sad thing is the GP isn't supposed to know about it and people are asking for details on their facebook.
  17. Well, I meant we know the basic layout of the coaster. Yes, we don't know the name, the firsts, the specs and all that Jazz. But I am just more excited about Howl-o-Scream this year than the new coaster next year. XD
  18. I really want to know, what possibly could they be announcing about Howl-o-Scream that is so important? That is my main thing for that weekend. We already practically know everything about the new coaster and I get 30% discounts everyday and loose raffles all the time. It just drives me crazy to not know what they possibly could have in store.
  19. The same family attraction with multiple launches and a drop in the dark and a trip through the Black Forest? Airtime is the least of these families' worries. I just have to laugh out loud! I think the air time will be the least intense thing on this ride. Especially if the event building is filled with a ton of great effects that won't stop being used after a few years. Such as Loch Ness's cave and the misters by the bottom of Big Bad Wolf's drop. I'd actually like to see these effects last for a long time. Anyway, Mach Tower only opens separately because it is their newest attraction. I would give it a year or two and it will open with the rest of Oktoberfest. I think a Switzerland idea would work best to replace New France. Maybe some one should let the park know that is what they really need.
  20. Actually, Alpengeist is considered to be in New France. After all they open up the coaster before opening Rhinefeld, Germany. Now if they used the bridge as the border, it would work out better. Sadly, they don't. New France needs to go and we need a get a new country to replace it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I hate having Spain as an idea. I think if they were to do Spain it would relate to Mexico too much. I would love to see Switzerland or even Holland/Netherlands.
  21. I think New France is probably the worst area of the park, seeing how it basically has nothing to do with Europe. Especially with all the indians and such. Plus, to them Alpengeist is considered in New France? How is a german-named beast even get to Canada? It is one thing that really drives me crazy. At least when they have a theme they go hardcore with it, sorta :/
  22. You guys still on Mach Tower??? Can we just get along and move on to Howl-o-Scream, Christmas Town, and the new 2012 Coaster?
  23. Crows from England last year have been sighted next to Sesame Street. They are nicely spread out behind the fence behind the train tracks next to Pompeii and next to Groover's Alpine Express. Think we can expect them this year? Also, lights have been changed and ready for HoS.
  24. Guess what time it is! Stitchin' Time in Germany! Yes, the new scare zone for Germany is zombies!!! This is probably the first time I have seen zombies other than Frankenstien used at BGW! I am so excited already!!! Also, I think the last scare zone will be in England/Scotland. It seems like the odd place out for a scare zone.
  25. Someone said Mach Tower was open yesterday and Le Scoot opened back up too. So the park is fully functional again. However a lot of people are pretty upset with Water Country USA. Do you think they would extend their season? or no? I honestly don't think so because it is too much paperwork. As far as they go they still have problems to fix that might take as long as Mach Tower took to open. Oh the Pre-School Pass was extended until October 30th. Any chances of the Fun Card extending to October 30th to? Probably not. It would be a major rip off to season pass holders if they did unless they gave season pass holders something more in return, like admission to Christmas Town perhaps?
