I think for having only 2 rides down after a big hurricane, that is in itself a reward. I don't think Mach Tower will be down for very long. Actually someone asked if any rides were down and they replied with something along the lines like all the rides are working fine. So it may be working right now. As far the the 2012 ride goes, we probably won't get any announcement regarding a name or specs or anything like that until at least until either tracks start showing up or until probably the 'event building' is mostly done, or even by the end of Howl-o-Scream. Attendance is almost nonexistent from last Friday before the Hurricane to now. In fact, they aren't even expecting too many people to show up. Just a few thousand. So basically, it is the perfect time to go and experience the whole park.
-
The park did very well considering the Hurricane was super bad and tough! Also, they were giving free food to employees because they had a surplus of food that wasn't used Saturday or Sunday go figure. That tree in Festa looked pretty cool. I bet things will be normal in no time! Mach tOwer probably will be up and running in just a few weeks, or so we think.
-
Sadly yes BGW is closed for Saturday and Sunday. Walking through the park you can tell already some of the actions taken to prepare. Such as: - Festhaus window boarded up - Loose signs throughout the park taken down - Lil Balloons figurine taken down - The covers for tents/Pompeii queue were removed - And many more.
-
As of now there should be no closing for Hurricane Irene; however the Pat Benatar concerts have been cancelled and may be rescheduled. Howl-o-Scream Three of the big signs for Fear Fair have been taken down, last time I checked. This could be preparation for Hurricane Irene so they do not get damaged; however it could be related to something else. San Marco Bridge is now decorated with signs of Howl-o-Scream and a chant. Some light music was playing nothing big. the light poles have been covered in vines with eye ball roses. Apparently the story behind the dark side of the gardens is; some little girl got lost in a garden and bad things happened to her and that eyeball we see is hers. Haunted Houses - 13: Your Number's Up (Europe in the Air Queue, Killarney, Ireland) - Catacombs (Royal Palace Theater, Aquitaine, France) - Fear Fair (Behind Roman Rapids, Festa Italia, Italy) - Bitten (Festhaus Park, Oktoberfest, Germany) - Unconfirmed Shows - Monster Stomp Revamped (Abbeystone Theater, Killarney, Ireland) - Jack is Back (Killarney Town Circle, Killarney, Ireland) - Unconfirmed Scare Zones - Widow Makers (New France, France) - Grin and Scare It (Festa Italia, Italy) - Unleashed (Jack Hannah's Wild Reserve) - Unknown - Unknown 2012 Coaster -Verbolten- Nothing new is happening other than construction has seemed to hit hard. A foundation to the event building should be coming near. I imagine with Hurricane Irene construction will be pushed back for awhile. That big hole may turn into a big swimming pool very soon. 2012 Park Updates I have heard Festa Italia is getting some work done over the off season. La Cucina is supposed to become a permanent buffet.

In the dark side of the gardens, there's so much you will find, the only thing you have to loose is a little of your mind. In the shadows black, you can't turn back, they come from everywhere. Both above below and behind, their screams are in the air. Come play in my gardens. Nice little chant don't you think so?
-
Unleashed actually looks (excuse my french) bad @$$ from everything else we have seen so far. It has me really up-ing my expectations. That will be the one time I actually say that so please don't get riled up about it or give me a lecture. Anyways, the traditional string of white/yellow carnival light s are strung around the place behind Roman Rapids. Theming should be awesome, I hope to get a good look of it soon. Does anyone know what they could possibly have four semi-trucks sitting around for all of the sudden? Could it be for storage for a haunted house or something else?

Mach Tower Ride Time for employees is this morning, so if ll goes well we can see it opening this weekend with a media event but we could see something before then or since its so close to the weekend already Friday could be big. Also, as far as judging anything goes; he was judging the concept art and not the coaster, or was trying to. A coaster should be judged by multiple ride experiences and nothing more. So yeah and expect to see a "freak show" like maze in Festa, I know i was announced and all, but it really is going to be more of a freak show than what people were saying with clowns and fairs. I think we could see the first ever "man-eating chicken". Also, I am assuming the Howl-o-Scream trailer trucks rolled up here since there are four of them sitting next to the Festhaus, probably fixing Bitten up.
-
So yeah the park definitely is doing fine without all these crazy coasters; however they are more known for trying to open something that breaks some sort of record. The only coaster that I don't think I could find was a record breaker was Apollo's Chariot. All the other coasters, Griffon, Loch Ness, Big Bad Wolf, Alpengeist; all have some sort of major accomplishment or something of the sorts. I think those coasters just would not look right or fit in with the park, just structural wise as well as it doesn't seem right. Speaking of Howl-o-Scream, it looks like Festa's carnival theme is taking a turn for a scare. That is cool though, I think we can expect to see some great scares here. As for Mach Tower, I hope it is open by this weekend. And finally the new coaster, its a big hole with concrete footer now. Don't forget the station is just an empty shell and the gift shop with tons of Mach Tower merchandise has been completely trashed. That basically cover everything up in a nutshell.
-
Yeah my supervisor told me told me today that Mach Tower will be an observation ONLY tower during Christmas Town which makes sense since you are supposed to admire all the lights and decor. I got a glimpse of the new maze taking over Cursed, I am OFFICIALLY CONFIRMING that it will be a fair themed maze n that area. You can even see the carnival style tents from the train, there is even a ticket booth at the gate just on the inside. I know it was confirmed by inside sources for BGWFans.com however this just me saying I actually saw it so you know its all cool. I also saw a Howl-o-Scream golf cart. It was entangled in vines with red flowers that had eyes and the slogan The Dark Side f the Gardens was posted on it, maybe we can be seeing a new permanent theme??? Sorry all you Mach Tower fans, the gift shop that was loaded with Mach Tower merchandise was torn down completely and is no longer there, I guess you have to get your shirts and mugs in England for now on. Employee Ride Time for Mach Tower (which we get paid almost minimum wage for as extra hours) will be Wednesday 9am-5pm. Want to see people scream their heads off? You probably should visit then.

^^Thats very interesting and neat. 2012 Coaster Update - We have been teased! Like it was mentioned, one of the green construction walls, the one off the bridge by the station is covered in warning signs, some actual german road signs, and some more. What was really cool was I got to see them screw on the construction tape one night. Howl-o-Scream Update - Haunted Houses are 13: Your Number's Up, Catacombs, and other rumored to be confirmed are The Dead Line, Fear Fair, and Bitten. Looks like we are in for a treat with three new houses this year. Shows are Monster Stomp, Jack is Back, and another rumored to be confirmed is Fiends in Das Festhaus. I am interested to see this show since I have heard so much wonder talk of it. Not much with scare zones as far as spiders and loggers in New France. MAJORLY NEW News - Howl-o-Scream set-up started yesterday 8/10/11. So hopefully we can be expecting to start seeing some new things around the park for another year of scares. Mach Tower Update - What is there to update other than, I saw it doing full tests! That does seem to be the new phrase everyone is saying other than, it will open in [insert # or few] weeks. Labor Day openning has been rumored now, so we will see it open anywhere from next weekend to Labor Day weekend, hopefully. Don't forget my question! If originally, it was supposed to open memorial day weekend and they only had about at most two weeks to test it before said opening date and it is fine, how long is testing supposed to take? I am just saying, before Memorial Day, they didn't have much testing time that is until now where they seem to be spending more time testing than actually fixing something. Maybe they are taking their time with testing is all I am saying at this point.
-
The Illuminights shows are supposed to be cartoony and amusement park like in a way. I am glad you enjoyed your time there! As for the new coaster, like I said before they started showing off the theme of the coaster already, black forest/autobahn is what they are aiming for and with the new added signs everywhere, we can count on an announcement soon they can't just put up a million and one signs and then ignore them. Which only means Mach Tower is ready to open soon.
-
We can be expecting an announcement soon for the roller coaster. I noticed they have added some german road signs to the green construction fence by the bridge so now as you walk by you are bombarded by a ton of warning and caution signs saying you are entering the black forest and there is danger afoot; or something along those lines. With this bit a theming, I expect Mach Tower open by next week and an announcement shortly after about the coaster.
-
I am assuming that he is referring to the ride more commonly known as "the swings". Its official park name is Wirbelwinchen or something along those lines. Actually if it did, it could not have been too bad. I do remember going into work passing by security, an ambulance, and a fire truck all racing towards Das Festhaus on the service roads. Although for the rest of the day I think Mach Tower was testing fine. I think it may have dropped, but it could not have been too bad. From the testing I have seen, it looks pretty good. I hope we don't have to deal with another crash, I think it was just a small one this time that did hardly no damage at all. After all, it has gone through so much work already and for it to be in the hands of the park now, I don't think we should worry.

NEW!!! HOWL-O-SCREAM 2011 UPDATE!!! Jack Is Back, let's hope is old head is too. Nope, they still have that stupid head judging by the picture posted on their website. However, they did make the caption look more spookier and scarier, so maybe that is a good thing? So far we have: Haunted Houses- 3 - 13: Your Number's Up (Europe In The Air Queue, Killarney, Ireland) 4 - Catacombs (Royal Palace Theater Backstage, Aquitaine, France) 6 - *Rumored* Bitten (Drachen Fire Queue Building, Oktoberfest, Germany) 10 - *Rumored* Clown Maze (Cursed Area, Festa Italia, Italy) 12 - *Rumored* The Dead Zone (Pompeii Building, Pompeii, Greece) Shows- 1 - Monster Stomp Revamped (Abbeystone Theater, Killarney, Ireland) 5 - Jack Is Back (Town Circle, Killarney, Ireland) 13 - *Rumored* Fiends in Das Festhaus (Das Festhaus, Oktoberfest, Germany) Scare Zones- 2 - Widow Makers (New France, France) 7 - *Rumored* Vampires (Rhinefeld, Germany) 8 - *Rumored* Clowns (Festa Italia) 9 - *Rumored* Ghosts (Heatherdowns, Scotland) 11 - *Rumored* Werewolves (Jack Hanna's Wild Reserve)

The big boss Mr. President of SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment is coming to Busch Gardens Willaimsburg today (Friday, July 29th, 2011) to ride Mach Tower. Or at least that was the plan, he is still coming, but I am not sure if he will be riding it? Also, they have been cleaning up Mach Tower, a quick peek inside the fence shows the area is pretty much preped and ready for the public (almost). So maybe Mach Tower will be open soon, this is either really good news or really bad news. I know because my supervisors have been doing some extra cleaning around the place. He can literally walk through the park and say your fired right now, leave, and you have to do it.

A drop doesn't make a drop tower good, it is what you can do with it. I am sure the vibrating seats, on board audio and spinning make it better than what it looks like now. I guess that makes sense regarding the fireworks, but they just seem louder. I guess I just need to go live in Kingsmil and hear it for myself. I actually don't like Kingsmil, they are terrible drivers, I almost got hit by one They really are slow too, every time I go to work there is always 10 of them blocking me.
-
I imagine Mach Tower will be opening up in a few weeks as of now. I know thats what all park employees are saying and have been saying for what seems like months, but to be honest it has only been about 1 month and I don't think that is too bad. I do think it will definitely open before Howl-o-Scream; or at least the day Howl-o-Scream starts at the latest. I wonder how come BGW is still allowed to have 56 nights of fireworks, I would have thought Kingsmill would have stopped all that, however I am glad the fireworks are still here, just a random thought. Anyone have any thoughts on Howl-o-Scream??? Any rumors, guesses at all, or is everyone just being patient and waiting to see what pops up on the site before talking about it?
-
I think everyone is loosing sight of the main topic, this isn't the contract forum, lol, this is the Busch Gardens Williamsburg forum. I think we need to try to shift back to that. Anyways, I think BGW wouldn't need an exclusivity clause or what not seeing that there is only 1 park nearby it and they don't seem to care about making similar coasters. I'm just saying KD seems to just want fast and tall rides. But we all know being faster or taller doesn't mean you are better. But yeah, I don't think BGW needs anything like that. BGW News - 1) Mach Tower is still testing. Late night work hasn't been going on for a while now, it just seems to be daytime testing. Hopefully, that is a good sign. 2) 2012 Coaster (Rumored: Verbolten) seems to be going well. There is still a big hole in the ground and some footers have been poured from what I have seen, I still need to go back and see what else is new there. 3) Howl-o-Scream is starting off, sorta. We know Monster Stomp Revamped is back. There is a spider/chainsaw scare zone in New France and 13: Your Number's Up is a maze from the first year of Howl-o-Scream is coming back to Ireland in the Europe in the Air Queue. So no more EitA during Fall. The latest rumors going around is that the Pompeii maze is being re-done to make way for a new Subway Zombie themed maze. Also, the next this to be revealed is a maze which I am assuming by my hypothesis is to be located in France. A new show called Dig it up is also rumored to replace Mix it up in San Marco. Here is a list I complied so far: HAUNTED HOUSES: 3 *CONFIRMED* 13: Your Number's Up (Ireland, Killarney, EitA Queue) 4 *Guessed* Royal Palace Theater Backstage? 6 *Guessed* Drachen Fire Queue Building? 10 *Rumored* Clown Fair (Italy, Festa Italia, "Cursed" Area) 12 *Rumored* The Dead Zone (Greece, Pompeii, Pompeii Warehouse) SCARE ZONES: 2 *CONFIRMED* Widow Makers (France, New France) 7 *Guessed* Germany, Rhinefeld Area? 9 *Rumored* Clown Zone (Italy, Festa Italia) 11 *Guessed* Wild Reserve Area? SHOWS: 1 *CONFIRMED* Monster Stomp Revamped (Ireland, Killarney, Abbeystone Theater) 5 *Guessed* Jack is Back? 8 *Guessed* Das Festhaus Show? 13 *Rumored* Dig It Up (Italy, San Marco, Teatro Il San Marco) Anything about this list sound interesting, let's all talk about it. 4) Christmas Town is not looking anywhere near ready. All we can say is Rejoice was taken off of last years map, so maybe the map was updated a little bit. The latest rumors going around is Rejoice is not returning and A Sesame Street Christmas will be replaced with a new show. I do plan on visiting the park as a guest sometime soon and I hope to get pictures fro everyone Now you may resume to your regular Busch Gardens Williamsburg talk and rumors.

Who knows, maybe KD already did hire an assassin for Mach Tower Or maybe the employee that decided it was a great idea to mix ammonia and bleach together in the smokehouse? Loyal misguided employee or spy??? Howl-o-Scream List - Haunted Houses: - 13: Your Numbers Up (Ireland, EitA Queue) Shows: - Monster Stomp Revamped (Ireland, Abbeystone Theater) Scare Zones: - Widow Makers (New France) Now we know almost all of Ireland's attractions, we just need to know where that next things is. I think we can conclude the numbers may be going in order around the park. I believe the next haunted house to be revealed is either Catacombs in France, a new maze in France/New France, or something in Oktoberfest. I believe they are going in order working their way counter clockwise around the park. I have gathered information and based upon the first show and scare zone I created a list in order of what I think it going to happen. with the first haunted house info released, it only further confirms my theory. Here it is: 1 – Monster Stomp Revamped 2 – Widow Makers 3 – Europe in the Air Queue Maze 4 - Catacombs/Haunted House in France/New France 5 – Das Festhaus Show 6 - Haunted House (Still Unknown) 7 – German Gifts/Rhinefeld Zone 8 – Italy Pavillion Show 9 - Clown Zone 10 - Haunted House (Still Unknown) 11 – Wild Reserve Zone 12 - Pompeii Maze 13 – The Globe Theater Show

I think if they do as well as they did with Groover's Alpine Express in Sesame Street: Forest of Fun the new coaster may really be great. Honestly, I think its not the fact that these smaller companies have never built this stuff before. I think they are just trying to build them too fast. Take your time and everything will work out. However, it is like buying something new that requires "some installation". Do you stop to carefully read the directions over and over to make sure you know what you have to do? Nope, you put it together thinking you already know what to do, and then you have that one piece left over and you can't find where it goes, but it is super crucial. Howl-O-Scream Update - Pompeii will be renamed and zombies seem to be a theme for the new maze. Read this at BGWFans.com forums. This should be interesting. I might have to take a look in there to see what's up. As far as he "Cursed" area goes, last time I checked that place was bare, but I guess I might have to take a look there too. NEW! - The Count's Halloween Spooktacular at Busch Gardens! It is a "daytime Halloween celebration" that will last 10AM to 5PM. Does this mean that Howl-o-Scream will see longer hours, maybe but most likely not. Just something to get the HoS rumors started. At least we know they aren't dropping the KIDsiderate theme just yet. Christmas Town Update - Has anyone noticed, that on the website the park map displays all the stuff from last year EXCEPT Rejoice? I guess they might have updated the site a little and removed the show? Or it could be a technical problem. Let the Christmas Town rumors begin.
-
I have a feeling we may not see any of the mazes from last year except for a revamped Pompeii unless they consider Catacombs a fan favorite. Although I think we can expect at least half the stuff fan favorites, one of them being clowns. I am excited to see what is in store this year, I think they are giving the info out one or two things each week since there is only about 10 - 11 weeks left before HoS starts.
