  1. Well, most of us were right about the spinning part. This looks very fun indeed. When I go to the Boardwalk in 2013, I'll give it a go for sure.
  2. I really hope someone posts the outcome here by 10am. My final guess is what I've been guessing. Spinning Wild Mouse. It's not really what I'd want, but I know what direction the Boardwalk is going in now *coughfamilyorientatedcough*, and I'd be surprised if it is something really extreme. If it is a Eurofighter, or something else, I'd be blown away. But my guess is still Spinning Wild Mouse.
  3. As awesome as that would be, I doubt it'd fit up top the deck. But the moment of truth will be tomorrow. I'm still sticking with my guess of a Spinning Wild Mouse coaster.
  4. ^^ I don't miss the old Haunted Castle ride either, but the facade was much better than what they have now. And the Jetstar still lives? I wonder where it is.
  5. @ Shawnk Thanks for those! I miss the Boardwalk so much, and videos are the only way I'll experience it for now since I moved to Phoenix. The Hurricane had a good 20 year run. Yes, it is sad to see the good old Hurricane leave its home, but at least we know it's moving to a new park to entertain a whole new generation in New Mexico. Just like Typhoon and Chaos. Man, i miss those ones especially... But like I said, at least they're still alive, and not completely destroyed like the old Haunted Castle was.
  6. We'll find out in 4 days! Oh... the suspense is terrible... I hope it'll last...
  7. The New Haunted Castle was a bigger and more complicated project, and it was done in nine months, so anything's possible. The Boardwalk means business when they set out on a major project. Just hope someone goes to do some photo documentation on the construction process.
  8. The deck will expand over the Fright Walk for sure (Rumor also has it that they're going to remake the Fright Walk as well during the process of the deck expansion). I'm not sure if the deck will expand all the way over the old offices though. The coaster was confirmed a while back. One of the park executives or someone said it's going to be a coaster that people will like BETTER than the Hurricane.
  9. It has been said already that it will be a coaster. Plus, with the expansion of the top deck they're planning something big...
  10. On August 27, 2012, the Boardwalk will announce the new coaster that will be taking the place of Hurricane! What do you think it'll be? My bet is still on a new Spinning Wild Mouse coaster.
  11. I love Wipe-Out as well, but is it me or did Wipe-Out go a lot faster when it first opened? Anywho, since it has been over a year since my last visit to the 'Walk, I'm hoping they made the Haunted Castle a bit more scary (and painted the outside a more spooky color).
  12. But for a series that has advanced in so many ways over the years, this 3DS one is a giant step backwards. Even RCT1 looks better than this crap.
  13. ^ To everyone above: Totally agree. Though RCT3 wasn't perfect, Frontier was on the right track. I believe if they had another shot at a PC debut, they'd make it flawless for the most part. But obviously Frontier's mystery rollercoaster game is not going to be a new RCT title, being the fact that Atari told me they "have no plans for that at the moment". Atari seems to be anything but excited about RCT3D. So, why are they continuing with it? That is still a mystery... But it was their fault for posting this on August 14, 2010: "We are thinking hard about the next Rollercoaster Tycoon game on PC. We have a question for you, our loyal fanbase. How ready are you for the next Rollercoaster Tycoon? In the years since the last version, what are the key features you’ve dreamed about for the next release? What would make you rush out, buy it, and keep playing it? We’d like to know!" But what do I know? Maybe they are still going to do it, and RCT3D is something to "hold us over" until they announce this new PC game... But still, the existence of RCT3D seems pointless (especially if they're going to make a new RCT for the PC in a couple more years). Honestly, I'd rather wait a few years without a new RCT game than have RCT3D come out. I hate the idea of totally skipping out on a new RCT game, but in this case, I have to. Even if I had a 3DS, I would not want this game because it looks so bad.
  14. The Boardwalk has posted online that September 3, 2012 will be the Hurricane's last day of operation. The new ride will be announced shortly after that. Come on, Spinning Wild Mouse!
  15. ^ I'm not saying RCT3 did everything right. But the concept was executed well for the most part... It did feel like a different game that just had the RCT name, but that's what companies are doing with well-known franchises now. But to steer the franchise away from it's birthplace (PC) seems like they're taking to too far;and this new game looks anything but spectacular (both graphic and story wise).
  16. @ A.J. If this 3DS debut is not a huge mistake, why are you saying Atari has brought the series "downhill"? The game is going to suck, and they KNOW it. Hence why they keep pushing the release date further and further away, and not releasing any more information on the game. It's like they're embarrassed of it, and I for one don't blame them. But for them to reply in that tweet saying they have no plans at the moment of making a new PC debut withers my faith in them as a company; because it shows me that deep down, they don't give a **** if they're pleasing the fans or not, they're going to "experiment" with a franchise that made them millions in the past. My favorite motto: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
  17. I know news about the game is vague and very few people are excited for the newest RCT installment being on the 3DS. But I just wanted to say, I contacted Atari via Twitter, and asked thm about an RCT4 or just a new RCT game for the PC in general. And this is all they wrote back: "3DS is coming but there is no official release date yet. As for another PC game, maybe someday but no plans at the moment." I then asked them what made them feel that RCT should be on the 3DS instead of the PC. No answer yet, and I won't hold my breath. It will still remain a mystery I guess. But honestly, I see no profit for them making the game 3DS exclusive. Think about it... 1 out of every 100 people have a 3DS... yet, how many of us have PCs? Now, which would sell more? Anyway I won't gripe any longer. I hope they realize their huge mistake though.
  18. Hola, everyone. So I thought I'd make this thread for RollerCoaster Tycoon 3D because I wasn't sure if there was one yet or not. I searched for one, but didn't find it. Anywho, I know news about the game is vague and very few people are excited for the newest RCT installment being on the 3DS. But I just wanted to say, I contacted Atari via Twitter, and asked thm about an RCT4 or just a new RCT game for the PC in general. 19. I hope someone can make a good video of the new Crazy Surf ride. I've only seen one on youtube, but it's crappy quality.
  20. @ 154bmag Thanks for those awesome pics! Man, I miss SC sooooo much! I remember going to Betty's a few times. Nice to see a pic of their food Looks like they're really letting the Hurricane go. It's looking all busted, rusted, and crusted now. So sad. Hopefully its condition will make the price lower. If I had the space, I'd buy it and have it moved to Phoenix, AZ where I live now... maybe start my own beachless boardwalk.
  21. In regards to that lady's little speech: It's because of people like her that the Boardwalk may not ever have a chance to expand. I heard a while back that the Boardwalk was trying to expand inward toward the parking lots. That would've been great.
  22. Haha. Wow. I guess it's those same people who didn't want the Boardwalk to expand.
  23. That's another thing. The new ride can't be too tall because it's already on top of the deck. I heard Double Shot was supposed to be 150 feet or taller but they had to make it shorter because the city people were worried about the poor sea gulls ramming into the thing...
  24. ^ The concerts are usually more July-ish. But I do miss them. The kept most park guests off the rides, so I got to go crazy... NO LINES! As for that new ride... Well, it wouldn't be fair to ask about the new coaster plans right now, being that we've barely gotten into summer... (although since I live in Phoenix, I started summer pretty early...) But as they said, late summer for new coaster news/details. My money's on a spinning wild mouse. Just got a feeling. In fact... we should make this kind of a game... we should all post what kind of coaster we think will be announced by late summer... My guess: Spinning Wild Mouse Anyone else?
  25. Apparently, the Dipper had an accident. Trains bumped at the station or something and yadda yadda yabadabadooheresthearticle: http://screamscape.com/html/santa_cruz_beach_boardwalk.htm
