^ It's not just a spinning coaster I'm after. I'm from California, but had to move to Phoenix because life was too expensive. Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk was and is my favorite place in the whole world, and I haven't seen it for 2 and a half years. I miss it so much. Towards the end of August, I'm going to go to the Boardwalk new coaster or not. It would just be really nice if Undertow was open by then.

Amusement Ride Breakdown!
Sheep-O-Matic replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
One night at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk I was riding the old Haunted Castle dark ride alone. The ride was not scary as it was, but I was in for a surprise. In the middle part of the ride, my car stopped. Before I could even wonder what was going on, another car hit my car from behind, followed by another. The lights turned on in the whole ride, but then they went out. Before I knew it, an employee came with a flashlight, and escorted me out of the ride. Apparently, a section of the track had lost power, causing my car to stop, and I guess everything else was malfunctioning as well. It was weird to walk through the rest of the ride, but kind of cool. The Boardwalk's new version of the Haunted Castle ride has broken down a few times as well, but resumes after a few moments. -
I hope there's a time lapse video on the construction of Undertow. Did they end up expanding the top deck for Undertow? I think they mentioned about doing that a while back. They'd expand it over the Fright Walk and over that little alleyway where the offices used to be long ago. Also, the Boardwalk getting a zipline? I don't think that's such a good idea, but we'll see how long it lasts.

True. I'm sure the new logo disappoints some of the employees there, but they changed it for a reason... whatever that reason may be... I'm all for change, as long as it's a change for the better. Some of the changes that the Boardwalk has made over the years were for the better, while some were made with good intentions, but need improvement (like the Cave Train and Haunted Castle). This logo change was with with good intentions, but I think they should've got the public's opinion first... Being that the Boardwalk logo is a pretty big deal.

Old Logo > New Logo I agree with Wes. It does look like clip art for a powerpoint project. But as long as the company's happy with it, I guess that's all that matters. There was something magical and exciting about the old logo... I won't ever find that in this new logo. Oh well. Times change, and things change.

Woah Nelly horse! They're upgrading Cyclone? I wonder what they're going to make it do now... Maybe it'll lift up and then start rotating the entire spinning cage or maybe it'll go upside-down... or maybe... I got nothing... I have to say, Speedway looks a little funky down by Speedbumps. Hopefully they can fix that area up a little better before the summer hits. Fireball could use a new paint job as well... Maybe paint the ride all red and add some yellow flames going up the supports? Anyway, I can't wait until the Undertow construction starts.

^^ Dang I remember getting my pass every year. I still have mines from 2011. Anyway, I wanted to know everyone's thoughts on the new coaster's name. Personally I think they should've took a vote or took up suggestions like they did for the new Haunted Castle. "Undertow" sounds a little funky in my opinion... I would've called it "Spin-Out", "Whirl-Wind", "Tidal-Wave", "Centrifuge" or leave it titled "Hurricane".
