  1. (Politcal BS that has no place in the discussion.) And how well is Italy doing with their "free" government-run healthcare-for-all in this situation? Please take your opinions on to the functionality of health care in the US elsewhere. I wasn't comparing the US to Italy. Both countries have extremely corrupt governments and are not civilized in any sense of the word. But keep drinking the grape-flavored sugar water; that's what the government expects.
  2. That's because you live in a civilized country that cares about its citizens. The US is no longer governed "By the people, for the people." It's now "By the corporations, for the corporations and only the corporations." This is the main reason all of this hysteria is so worrying. Since US corporations are only about money and shareholder value, most of them do not offer their hourly employees paid sick leave. The healthcare industry is run by giant corporations that are probably rejoicing at the tests that they will be able to charge an arm and a leg for.
  3. In Pigeon Forge, there is MagiQuest or WonderWorks. Also Dixie Stampede is a good dinner show. Gatlinburg is a trolley ride away, Ripley's Aquarium and Ober Gatlinburg are both good. If you don't mind driving, do the Cades Cove loop and the Laurel Falls hiking trail (it's paved) in the Park, the Knoxville Zoo, Lost Sea in Sweetwater, and Forbidden Caverns/Tuckaleechee Caverns. Also in Knoxville, the Three Rivers Rambler is running their Christmas Lantern Express steam trains.
  4. I am tentatively planning a trip to Carowinds Memorial Day weekend. What will the crowds be like on Sunday? Will it be as bad as a Saturday in May? Will I be able to hit all of the coasters at least once without FastPass? Thanks for any info, it will be my first time there and I am looking forward to it.
  5. Would Herschend be interested? Maybe offer some type of Smoky Mountain package deal?
  6. Wow, that POV is so different from today. The forest really adds to the ride experience. Were the 4-row cars ever used after it was opened to the public or were those just the test trains?
  7. ^Thanks The problem with Monday is that a some of the people I am going with have to be in school Tuesday morning and it is a 4+ hour drive home so we probably couldn't stay until 8 p.m. How long are the lines on a typical Sunday? If I remember correctly, the only horrible line in the past was for Flight of Fear but this was before Diamondback, Firehawk and Windseeker. Is the wait for Flight of Fear usually over 1 hour on Sundays?
  8. I am looking to visit Kings Island on either Sunday, August 13 or Monday, August 14. It has been several years since I was there last and was wondering which day would be better to go. On Sunday the park is open to 10 p.m. versus 8 p.m. on that Monday so that would give us a couple of extra hours to ride. What are the lines like on each day? I don't think we will be going to Soak City. Also, there are 4 of us, so Fast Lane would only be $35 each. Is that worth it? Thanks for any help or suggestions.
  9. Does this mean that everyone (abled and disabled, alike) had to wait to be evacuated? What would they do if the building caught fire or someone planted a bomb?
  10. McDonald's, Johnny Rockets, Panda Express, etc. are all franchise operations. The parks would be the franchisees and the employees working in the food locations would be park employees (Disney, Six Flags, etc.), even though they have on McDonald's uniforms.
