  1. That was a great day on a great trip, Robb. While I'd say Wodan was 'one of the best' new woodies in the World, of all the parks I've ever visited Europa Park in Germany was unquestionably The Number One Best amusement park in the World. (Sorry Disney!) Can't wait to go back one day.
  2. Today's Christmas Day and I was just getting in my car to cross the City for the family get-together and thought I'd check my mailbox. OMG a TPR yellow packet with Roller Coasters in the Raw 7!! So I have to admit, there Really Is a Santa Claus! Thanks Robb & Elissa, its made my Christmas Day!
  3. I've bought all the DVD's so far and will only buy DVD versions, so I'd be disappointed if you discontinued them. I've never had much success downloading large video files off the net; we have an ancient 'patchwork' broadband system in parts of Australia and the connection usually gets dropped partway through. (Government is building a new national broadband network, but it won't be finished until 2020!)
  4. I can see it from the other side of the World!
  5. Another great update Robb, and an amazing unique POV of the old woodie Wild Mouse. Having been the one and only permanent coaster in Perth for several decades, although only ever in operation for one week a year during our 'Perth Royal Show', its to blame for my love of coasters. But it's a great thing that it now gets to be ridden and enjoyed all season/year in its new home.
  6. For nostalgic Aussies or peeps interested in how Sea World looked in its 'bigger days', I discovered a promo video circa 1990. You've just got to make it past the dancing pirates song at the beginning - LOL! Water ski acrobatics used to be the signature performance back then.
  7. Sea World used to be the king of the Gold Coast parks back before Movie World was built, but now Roadshow owns them both so seems to have less interest in keeping coasters and dark rides at SW. Sad that you guys have missed Bermuda Triangle and the Pirate Ship swing, but their closure/removal is said to be so that they can build a new attraction. I went on 'Lassiter's Mine Ride' which was recycled into Bermuda and it was pretty wild with a lot of flooding and fireball effects inside the 'Volcano' structure before a huge flume drop. Back then they also had a wild mouse style coaster, and the Viper was known as 'The Corkscrew'. They also had a waterpark included in SW.
  8. Hope you guys are having a wild time down here - your reports are amazing! Especially Robb's POV's at Movie World - never thought I'd ever get to see inside with the lights on!! wow! I last saw the Orphan Rocker back in 1988 and it was looking old and overgrown even back then! I always thought it'd just be a matter of time until it opened.... but I'm not so sure 20+ years later. As others have mentioned, the stuff about failing a sandbag test etc are just urban myths - the actual "uninteresting" story can be pieced together by Googling, including lots of great photos before it got quite so derelict-yet-unused. Sadly I'm way over in Perth so there's not much chance of running into you, but when you guys get to Aussie World in Queensland you'll see a great old 1935 Wild Mouse that used to reside here in Perth for about 50 years. How we lost that to Aussie World I'll never know, but I can vouch for it being a great coaster! (my 1st!) Catch you in July on the NE tour.
  9. A new video has just turned up. Now we can watch people getting their eyeballs gouged out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MqLVNmpFCw
