  1. Intimidator 305. I rode in the very front seat, and the second-to-last seat. It wasn't that great. I don't get the big deal about it. There was only one hill with real airtime, the rest were trimmed.
  2. Big Bad Wolf was an amazing suspended coaster. I never got the chance to ride Eagle's Fortress, but I know for a fact that Flight Deck and Iron Dragon aren't anywhere close to the quality of BBW. I heard it might be because Schwarzkopf laid the foundations for it, and Arrow didn't do much track design. I haven't been on many suspended coasters, but of the ones I've ridden, BBW was easily the best, and the village scenery and woods only improved the ride.
  3. Sorry to be so late, but you said you wanted to see a B&M remake of Drachen Fire - that's what Kumba is. Originally, Busch wanted B&M to design similar rides for both parks, but B&M could only take one project so they chose Tampa, so they gave the Virginia project to Arrow. Arrow had a lot of trouble recreating B&M's designs, which is why it's so different. That's also why Drachen Fire had the only ever Arrow cobra roll, and it has the cutback because Arrow couldn't figure out the overbanked curve that B&M's do. Also, Arrow couldn't make the loop go around the lift hill so they added that half corkscrew thing.
  4. I'm not sure I believe Screamscape in this instance - a movie-themed ride would be easy to market and also helps to produce both the movie and the theme park - a win-win situation. Not that I'm a movie/theme-park/copyright expert.
  5. I'm so glad! The rides visible from the parking lot have the important job of representing the park to all outside patrons; and it's been too long that we've had this painful ride representing our park. People see it from their car, think it looks cool, get on it, and then, die. They'll see Chang, think it's cool, get on it, and, like it and be amazed by the fact they are standing up. This all depends, of course, on whether or not we get Chang. Which we will.
  6. Great pics! GADV is my home park, and I really think it's time for GASM to leave. I used to skip it whenever I went unless I brought a guest, but now I go on it whenever I visit since it seems like it's going to close. I really don't like GASM, or have pity for it, because it's a two-faced ride. My analogy for GASM is a bi-polar pitbull. Sometimes, it runs smoothly to make you feel bad for it. Then, when you're on it again, and rattles you around like some sort of voodoo doll and makes you feel like your head's going to explode. Depending on what time of day you ride, what train you chose, which seat you chose, which side you're on, the ride can be smooth, rough, rattly, or an ugly mix of all of these. At least Chang will probably be more consistant. I'll be honest, the only things I'll REALLY miss about GASM are the chain lift sounds, the cool station and queue houses, and the totally nostalgic feel of the whole ride area.
  7. ^ Sorry, it's my fault for saying it like it was fact. It's not, I just got over-excited. There's still no need for insults, though. This forum is just for discussion.
  8. Who makes you in charge of what Gadv deserves and doesn't deserve? Rumors are flying around left and right...how do you know that Gadv is NOT getting flat rides for next year?? Why don't we all wait for the official announcement? Getting upset of rumors is supid haha Edit: I just read the guy's post above me. You all are being so naive. You have no idea how many flats Gadv is getting next year. People hear a rumor on the internet...ON THE INTERNET....and believe it to the "T." You say Gadv is getting 6 flats like its written in stone, provide some sources if you post stuff like that Sorry, but six flats is what Shapiro planned for GADV, according to CoasterFusion. This may be right or wrong, but I was trusting CoasterFusion in the post above. Obviously Weber could have changed this, but if he's really looking at what each park needs, he'll realize we need flats. Thanks for calling us naive, though.
  9. Sorry I thought Arrow and Morgan were the same company for a second. Either way there was no need to be an A$$. ...and there are is 700+ employees in the rides department at Gadv; More than enough to staff any new rides we get. Magnum was built by Arrow, not Morgan. And adding Chang isn't adding more staff spots, since they're getting rid of GASM. At most, it will add one staff member to assign seats. And to whoever said that this is a wrong decision because GADV needs flats, we're getting six flats as well. What's smart about this move is that all the money saved from not getting a new coaster can be used to buy some good flats, possibly theme them, and make general improvements around the park. Assuming Chang opens up to the Boardwalk, hopefully along with it comes a revitalization of the area with better "Boardwalk" theme elements, new pavement, etc. The Boardwalk has a potential to be a great themed area, it just needs more theme elements. Six Flags was spot on with all the colorful game booths, Nathan's Hot Dogs, and Ted's Cheesesteaks, we just need more Boardwalk-y stuff.
  10. I agree. Usually, I'm a softie to see old classics go (BBW is but one example)...but this ride was brutal this year (we were the only one's riding it and now I know why) and it wasn't really what I would call "fun" when we rode it last year either. I would have no problem with them removing both GASM and Rolling Thunder for something better. Thou speakest of removing Rolling Thunder?? That's the one problem at GADV I'd have a problem with them removing. Now THAT'S truly a classic, and there's no headbanging. The front seat on this baby has been great this year, with no side-to-side movement at all. GASM I'd understand, but getting rid of Rolling Thunder would make even more people mad.
  11. I have a feeling (and hope) that they're closing down the ride this early to disassemble it and plant grass. GASM was the only remaining asphalt coaster in our park, so it'll be good to just have grassy coasters. I hesitate to say "parking lot", because GASM was actually on decorative stone made to look like an American flag from the sky (which no one but giants could see, not even Skyway riders). Unlike Scream and Medusa (Discovery Kingdom), you could never see the parking spaces underneath the coaster.
