a little bit off topic but.... Titanic 3D is suppose to come out in april. Anyone else think it would be smart to delay the release a few months (or a year) due to the unfortunate events that have happened this month?

My bad.. Getting back on topic, I remember a Facebook post on the SFMM page a few months or two ago, berating SFMM for taking out Deja Vu, and what not, and i had to explain to them, that yes (i "was") a little upset that they took the ride out, but most (if not all parks) usually replace a coaster with something as exciting, so you don't need to worry. After a little more back and froth conversation with him, and also explaining what it cost to run Deja Vu, and that it would be better for the park financially to take out the ride, and put that money that would be stuck with Vu, to better use he understood why they took it out.

I thought you used to work at SFMM if I remember correctly? Anyway I guess it should call them later this week and ask, If they staff their finance department onsite or somewhere else

It's funny that someone else heard this. Just like all rumors, you can take this with a grain of salt. But I also went to the park today with my wife and daughter and was in line for the metal detectors when one of the market research people (this employee has been there 10+ years, I remember him when I worked there in the late 90s) began interviewing someone behind us about how many times they've been to the park. He then went on to explain to the couple that SFMM is getting the demon drop ride next year and explained how it's going to be on both sides of the Superman tower. He then went on and told the couple they should be excited about what is coming in 2013. He said the following points about this upcoming ride (I'm aware that some of these points are commonely known now, I'm just sharing all he said) - Log Jammer has been closed and will be removed for it - Deja Vu has been closed and will be removed for it - The ride will be launched and like Kingda Ka where the ride will launch up and go over a top hat element - The ride will be the tallest and fastest and change the "skyline" of the park - The ride will begin back where Deja Vu was and go north before turning to go over the mountain where it will do some tricks in the Log Jammer area before returning back to the other side of the mountain by using the old metro tunnel. Now I know the whole dippin dots employee crap will be brought up, I just thought there was too many points explained to this couple by a higher level employee to be false. So, only time will tell. But you have to admit, the points all seem possible and coincide with what's going on it the park. A ride at that caliber would require Deja and Log Jammer to close two years early... Wow if that is true..... OH boy... .

Log Jammer was much more popular than Jetstream, at least during the summer. I rarely saw it with less than a half-hour wait for a good part of the day, and on those same days Jetstream would be about five minutes. I think it is probably due to Log Jammer being really close to the kiddie area while Jetstream is on the other side of the park, as there were quite a few families in line for Log Jammer. As for a replacement ride, I am very hesitant to believe the Giga Coaster rumor. The ride does not free up nearly enough space for a giga, and I don't think that is what SFMM really needs right now. They have plenty of large coasters, and a giga would be really expensive and kill the popularity of some of the other coasters (mainly Goliath). Until something is announced, I stand by my original idea: An Intamin launched coaster similar to Cheetah Hunt that utilizes the natural terrain and the Metro tunnel. For Deja Vu's area, I think it will either be a mid-size coaster (Eurofighter or similar size) with a couple flats or a large coaster (Diving Machine, Mega-Lite, Wing Coaster, or something similar in size), but I'm guessing that may not be until 2014/2015 (I can't see SFMM installing two big coasters in one year). actually there is PLENTY of room for a giga... and would be something they need. there is enough room there for a very large coaster, let alone 2 medium one's
