  1. I ran over what appeared to be a rat tonight. He chose to return from whence he came, and squished, therefore, he became.
  2. Worlds of Fun used to have two Arrow loopers: The Scream Roller/EXT (Arrow Corkscrew) and the Orient Express (may it rest in pieces). I remember when the OTSR were round and left you plenty of room on the sides to put your arms up. Those were replaced with more rectangular restraints that basically force you to keep your arms down and they're very uncomfortable, at least for taller people. The Flight of Fear style restraints aren't too bad, but they're not comfortable in all seats of the train. The front right seat in the front car has a raised plate under your right foot which makes for a tight fit, though the left seat is fine for me. I'm fine as long as my feet aren't being squeezed too much.
  3. The plastic spinny toy intended for three year olds. I bought it, and an airplane glider, at the aviation museum in Richmond, Virginia. KidTums snagged the glider, and I imagine she still has it somewhere. Neither Josh nor Andrew (Pufferfish) quite mastered the spinny thing. And pay no attention to my desk loaded with tons of distractions from the everyday world of work.
  4. ^ That would be 2i.
  5. It's a play on googol, which is 1.0 × 10^100. Why are Twizzlers hollow?
  6. A coworker predicted that Apple would introduce iBread nano (Same price. Smaller Size.) today. It was withdrawn at the last minute because it was a half-baked idea. That was such a horrible joke that I had to share it.
  7. I killed a cicada tonight. It was buzzing around my porch light when I got home. It landed on the ground and I squished it with my foot.
  8. I just got an email notification for this thread and I was like, huh? I posted a while back and guess I popped in recently which switched it back on. So, since I'm here, I just thought I share a bit of trivia. The last time I was at Magic Mountain was when... Duh duh DUHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ninja was NEW!!!! Is that awesome or what?! And Revolution still just had lap restraints.
  9. Of course, buying it is one thing. Disassembling, moving and reassembling is three more things. $$$$$$$$$$
  10. Is it okay to be mildly amused that this discussion is still going on? How about the trims before the first loop on Loch Ness Monster? Now, granted, that coaster is 30+ years old, so it probably needs a little TLC. But griping and $5 will get you a nice cup of coffee at Starbucks! Or Caribou, take your pick.
  11. Baking is a form of cooking, so cookies is acceptable. Should we call buildings builts instead? If Helen Keller fell in the woods, and no one was around, would she make a sound?
  12. Okay, my rant: People with whom I share a name who can't be bothered to actually know their email/Gmail address and enter mine instead. The amount of crap I receive because of these idiots is ridiculous. And no, it's not spam. These are people registering on websites or signing up for newsletters. In hindsight, .@gmail.com probably wasn't the best choice.
  13. ^ Of course, because those two are so similar.
  14. I'm all over the place. Worlds of Fun Holiday World Kings Island Silverwood Carowinds Dollywood Busch Gardens Virginia Kings Dominion And a couple go-kart tracks with coasters.
  15. I'd be satisfied to know what exactly DJ Lance says when he brings out the tray of, uh, treats. I couldn't figure it out.
  16. I saw Piranha 3D tonight, though Boobies 3D would have been an acceptable title. I wasn't expecting much, so I wasn't disappointed. Decent gore, lots of bloody, churning water. Watch for the sequel, as there will certainly be one.
  17. I have a BS in Electronics Engineering Technology, but I do web work. Go figure. What's an electron? And Tyler teaching future generations frightens me. Him being called mister frightens me. j/k
  18. Because they knew Saturn would go out of business. Why do Peter Paul Almond Joys have nuts, but Mounds don't?
  19. A couple days ago I passed a Ford Ranger with a deep freeze in the back that said Bubba's Fine Foods, or something like that. When I think fine food, I think pickups and Bubba. And today a guy on a motorcycle passed me. He was wearing shorts, shoes and a helmet. So he could have all the flesh removed from his body, but at least he'll still look pretty.
  20. I'm a fan of off-white. Well, not really. That's another Monty Python bit. I think it was where a guy had to guess the color the host was thinking of. He guessed white, but the answer was off-white. I'm a fan of green. But I do like yellow shirts.
  21. Thinking of going to see Get Low. Anyone seen it? Heard of it?
  22. I think you need to specify the value that is changing as well, so you have the lim(an) = a as n approaches 1. And, if I remember correctly, as you're doing your calculations, if you wind up with division by zero or infinity/infinity, you need to take the derivative and figure the limit from that. That can be seen in lim(ax^2/x) as x approaches 0 or infinity. So I guess my rant is that I remember this...? Just don't ask me to do derivatives.
  23. Anyone know if Six Flags St. Louis has any plans to host Daredevil Daze this year? There's nothing on their site at this time, and ACE doesn't have the event listed. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything yay or nay about the event.
  24. Interesting, given the Point is supposed to have something next year.
  25. I was gonna snag her during Hol-ih-Wood Nights, but the Middle America Tour folks will be able to bring Paula closer to the edge of insanity than I alone could. But don't worry, Paula, I'll still search you out. Consider me the warm up party.
