  1. Just wanted to let you all know that we just pushed out 12 pictures of the bridge before Verbolten's drop. LINK REMOVED!. Not all of them are new, but they're all full quality. Enjoy! PS: Like last time, you don't need to sign up to see them, but if you like them, please consider doing so. MODERATOR EDIT: We are removing your links because you need 50 posts to post links where the sole purpose is to promote your personal site or blog. The only exception to this is if you get permission from a site administrator which you have not done.
  2. ALMS7TH, one of the members of the BGWFans Forums, LINK REMOVED! that there is a segment with an 86 degree bank inside the event building. Also, B-Mac LINK REMOVED! that the Rhine River drop has about a 52 degree angle and that the coaster is comprised of 171 segments of track. Ok, I'm going to stop spamming up this thread now.
  3. Just posted some more (very awesome) leaked plans to the BGWFans Forums:Link Removed! This time around, you don't need to sign up. The only thing I ask is that if you share them (please do!), share the link above, don't link directly to the pictures. Thanks and enjoy! Also, we have two pictures of the event building construction from over the weekend that can be found here: Link Removed
  4. Looking at the plans, I can tell you that basically all the footers from the bottom of the first drop to the brake run are reused Big Bad Wolf footers.
  5. The station has been completely gutted and will be fully rebuilt on the inside with the outer shell staying the same. As for the transfer track, the old maintenance area will now be part of the station and two new maintenance areas will be added. Together, they will be able to hold all 5 trains. The village area has been completely destroyed and is the future site of the "event building". The forecast cost for the attraction as a whole is $54 Million.
  6. Water Country USA's Master Plan for the next decade or so: http://bgwfans.com/?p=1329 Enjoy the maps!
  7. Actually, the one I'm referencing hasn't been released anywhere (yet). If you all have any more ride stats questions, I can do my best to answer them.
  8. Looking at the plans, I'd say 18 feet. Very close guess though.
  9. Public drop track pictures: Link There are also a few more ride drawings posted to the forums that we'd like to remain forum exclusives. They can be found here. Signing up takes maybe a minute or two and we don't send emails (aside from the initial confirmation email). If you chose not to sign up, that's fine- major content is almost always posted publicly on the main site.
  10. I don't think anyone posted a video of the announcement, so, if you weren't there, here you go. It was a great event, but I wish we could have heard more about the coaster.
  11. Don't worry, it didn't crash again. Anyway, Mach Tower employee training still hasn't stared yet. Anyone know what they're waiting on?
  12. Video taken by @aaroncorasdad today at the park for BGWFans:
  13. This is my first time entering the Track of the Week contest, so if I do something wrong, please let me know. Name: Psycho Mouse Type: Zamperla Spinning Coaster Game Exchange Link: http://www.themeparkreview.com/game_exchange/track.php?id=2345 Pictures:
  14. In line for the Haunted Mansion at Knoebels a few weeks ago... Girl's Mother: "Do you think this ride is scary?" Girl (about 5): "This ride is a little scary but the roller coaster is a lot scary. It goes all the way up to Jesus!" She was completely serious about it too.
  15. I'm not doubting what was said, but I have a very hard time believing that a tour guide has access to that sort of information. The poll including the name Verbolten was sent out months before the theming documents were leaked which included a ton of signage for the name Elementum. Looking at what happened to Griffon and Cheetah Hunt though, I imagine neither Verbolten or Elementum will end up being the ride's actual name. In other news, you can check out some interesting pictures taken from inside the Busch Gardens Williamsburg "Boneyard" here. They include a Big Bad Wolf car and a few Le Mans cars.
  16. I have already been in touch with BGW as to what they want us to do with these pictures. I'm just seeing all this stuff for the first time right now, I'm not exactly sure what to do with it all, but since we have a relationship with the park, I'm going to go right to the source. I've linked them to the images, and if they would like us to remove them, we will. --Robb Robb, I wouldn't be so concerned over your relationship with the park, I'd be more concerned about the job safety of one of your members or their source.
  17. ^Yes. Either he or his source is about to be in a ton of trouble.
  18. pkdcoaster, I recommend you take that picture down immediately. The watermark is clearly visible. Each document that has been handed out has it's own watermark. Whoever had that number probably just lost their job. BGWFans has a version without a watermark. Really, I can't stress this enough, take the picture down. Someone is probably about to face legal action over this.
  19. A public release should be coming within the next day or two. And yes, we do have a reason for waiting.
  20. I couldn't agree more. Intamin: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2151/1835403518_9abb3e7039.jpg S&S: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/36/16-doubleshot.jpg Moser: http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/6883/picplz20110429000018841.jpg Moser's version feels much less refined than the Intamin and S&S versions. I really hope BGW has something up their sleeves to make this thing look better... DarkStitch, it will stop and spin for a bit before it drops. The seats are also supposed to vibrate (that was the big surprise).
  21. A view of the construction site as of today.
  22. I think they should take a whole new direction with the theming of the ride. I'd say go with an animal theme. Now you might say that the cat video is perfect for this. I would agree, however, you have to look at it from the park's point of view. They want to make something that makes money. You know what makes money? Catchy songs put to ridiculous videos about obscure wildlife. After realizing this, I've now come to the conclusion that the ride should be themed to Narwhals. To fit this theme I found the following video which is catchy, addicting, while still being highly educational and inspirational. In an effort not to annoy the general public by making them wait through a one minute preshow, the song can be cut down to only one verse. And now I give you the new preshow for Six Flags Magic Mountain's newest ride, Narwhals: THE RIDE! NOTE: In order for this to work, the on-ride audio will need to be put back onto the ride and made to play the song's chorus on a loop throughout the ride.
  23. Thanks for the free onride pictures!
