  4. Hello Fellow Enthusiasts. I spend my evening in Tivoli Gardens today. Which basically means that my evening was filled with beautiful sights and a sexy beemer. I will say that it was crowded, but i did manage to get a night POV of Dæmonen, a B&M Floor-less that is fun but not intense at all. I got some pictures for you and a POV video waiting in the bottom of this post. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8vYHz8SodE
  5. Hahaha you did! Looking forward to it Eric!
  6. ^ I was a bit confused too. I think it's because the coaster got to be digged a few meters into the ground because of the height limits in the area.
  7. For those of you are interested, i visited Bakken today and made this construction video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Qta4wR-jOc Have a great day!
  8. A picture of some awesome looking trains from a danish news station, pretty much confirms that it's an Zierer!
  9. Here is a little draft from the press release. You'll find the full press release here: http://www.legoland.dk/en/About-LEGOLAND/Press/Press/New-in-2012/ "Press Release Polar Land is the name of the completely new area in LEGOLAND® Billund. The main attraction will be the first roller coaster in the world to combine a 5-metre-drop with an outing among live penguins. The poles meet in LEGOLAND, in the new 12,500 square metre Polar Land area. Here guests can take a ride in the Polar X-plorer, which is the first roller coaster to combine a 5-metre-drop with a visit into the world of penguins. Moreover, the area holds a penguin display, a restaurant and the existing Power Builder, which will be transformed into a flight simulator. The expansion is the largest expansion in the history of LEGOLAND Billund and needs a 75 mill. DKK investment. A crazy ride The new area has been developed by the LEGOLAND Park’s own designer Tom Christiansen: - New young polar researchers can expect quite a ride in the Polar X-plorer. The coaster has a top speed of 65 km/h and leads guests through an ice-waterfall, past impressive polar animals built of LEGO® bricks, into a giant mountain, just to crash through the ice in a 5-metre-drop. Then speed decreases, allowing guests to enjoy the view of live penguins, Tom Christiansen tells. He is looking very much forward to testing the ride himself. Only two roller coasters with drops already exist in the world, but this is the first to combine the experience with a zoological element. Polar X-plorer will be the fastest roller coaster in LEGOLAND Billund and will take guests 20 metres up in the air." So we have some specifications! - 65 km/h and a 20 meters of height. Here's a picture that is also taken from the press page on their official website, giving a much better overview of the area.
  10. The roller coaster is now registered on RCDB! http://rcdb.com/10214.htm As for the drop segment, i think it's going to be inside that iceberg right after the brake-run that you can see if you look closely.

  17. Hello Guys! A very happy danish roller coaster guy is here! It has just been leaked that Legoland Billund is to open a new roller coaster for their 2012 season. It's gonna be the main a attraction of an all new area in the park. Polar Land. The whole project is going to cost 75.000.000 danish crowns. I am very excited about this new coaster and i can't wait to follow the construction and to ride it of course. This is from the parks homepage: "Polar X-plorer - the wildest experience in the park's history Take the goggles on, jump aboard the cool snowmobiles and go explore the wild polar animals and penguins. But hold on tight! You come out on a furiously fast rollercoaster ride, under and through the icebergs, until you land on a frozen lake and drops through the ice - in 5-meter free fall - and land in the polar bears' cave." Sounds so awesome! The Polar Land area will open in may 2012 So this could either be a Intamin Family Drop Coaster or a Zierer of some kind. What do you think? Source: http://www.legoland.dk/da/Oplev-LEGOLAND/Nyheder-2012/ Heres some screens i took of the animation on the parks homepage: Start. Crackling. Drop. Ending.
  18. Sorry for double-post. But found some new pictures showing of their progress with the tunnels! Note: These pictures belongs to: http://gaulix.olympe-network.com view on gaulix. 'Rock' themed tunnel right after the loop. I think this will be the exit of the ride. Wow, just beautiful....
  19. A little update here. I translated a newly released french article about Parc Astérix, removed all the boring things, and this is what i got. (French Magazine Ask if Parc Astérix Can Tell Something About Their New Attraction) - Answer from Parc Astérix: The new attraction will open on April 7, 2012 on the parks opening day. They say that the park needed new 'life'. They tell that they haven't found a name yet, but that the new attraction is going to be inspired by the the world of Astérix and Cléopâtre. They inform that it's an inverted roller coaster and that it will have a ride time of about 2 minutes and 30 seconds. The passengers will have a feeling that they are touching the ground and dives into the water. They say that the queues will be shorter because of the capacity of the ride. - 1250 pph. The guests will not realize the time that has gone. Source: http://www.tourmagazine.fr/Parc-Asterix-Le-parc-prepare-la-2eme-edition-de-Peur-sur-le-Parc_a18843.html Personally i think this coaster is looking stunning! And knowing that i'm going to ride it next year is really nice! I would love to see some testing soon... - Kian Kronvang.
