More so the restraints than the airtime. I don't think anyone is complaining about airtime. -

Shame to hear about the lap bars being painful. Last year after 5 rides on El Toro in one day my thighs were sore for 3-4 days afterwords. Are the restraints even more painful than El Toro's? I'll still probably ride several times either way. Another question. How does the GP reaction seem to be. Ive read a few comments online about the restraints being painful and that they didn't enjoy it but is this something you commonly hear people saying or do most seem to have enjoyed the ride. -

Here is a video on Skyrush with some riders if anyone hasn't already seen it. -

I'm curious about this as well. How many moments of airtime are there are there? Ive seen some say 7 and some 5 but all I can see from the layout and POV is the 1st drop depending where you sit and the 3 straight airtime hills. -

Any idea what their thoughts were on the ride? Where is the project 2012 page? -

Trims were in the video I posted too. I guess we will have to wait and see to know for sure how they are going to run the lift. -

About the lift speed do we know for sure when this POV was made. In this test video from 5/19 the lift appeared to be going full speed again while in the previous few testing videos the lift was slower. Isn't it possible the POV was made earlier and just not posted until today. Doesn't really matter either way though. -

Looks great and I see no noticeable reduction in speed from the trims. I can't help but lol at some of the comments on facebook though complaining the ride sucks because there are no loops. Ride the ride before saying it sucks. I can agree with he comments about it being a little short though. It is only 40 seconds from drop to brakes which is in line with a lot of their coasters. Im sure the ride itself will makeup for that though. -

I'm thinking the problem area was the last airtime hill. Without trims it almost looks like it was taken a little too quickly. -

Here is a video of the ride testing after the trims were installed. Here is a video when they were not (go to 2:05 for a similar perspective). Lift appears to be at full speed in both. Playing both at the same time it looks to be going a little slower through the twisty hill and last airtime hill but otherwise nearly identical. -

Not necessarily. In the test videos since they have sped up the lift the ride finishes approximately 5 seconds sooner than the first testing videos and you can tell visually it goes faster over every element after the first hill. -

If the ride didn't slow down as much as it does it might have went through the zero G transition and last airtime hill too quickly. It still takes those elements relatively fast now. -

There is more airtime in the front while cresting hills while in the back there is more being pulled over hills. I tend to prefer the front of coasters for airtime, especially on Intamin rides where the ejector feels stronger to me. -

New video is amazing. It flies through the entire course and doesn't lose speed like it did before. The zero G transition and last airtime hill looks much better in particular. The ride is about 35 seconds as opposed to 40 seconds now but the much better pacing will make up for it. There is going to be ejector on all 3 airtime hills judging from the video. -

The testing videos look great. Can't wait to see it testing at full speed. Using no limits the lift might only add 3-4 on the ride but that could make a large difference on the 2 small airtime hills at the end. -
I will be going to Six Flags Great Adventure for the 1st time next Sunday, July 11th for the first time. I was just wondering how the lines generally are on a Sunday in July, especially for rides like El Toro, Nitro, and Kingda Ka. Im thinking about investing in a Flash Pass but my friends don't want to spend the extra unless we have to. When I went to New England in midweek August last year most lines were at least 60 to 90 minutes. Will we be able to get on all the coasters or ride anything more than once? Thanks.

I do have to say that I still can't wait to ride this thing in whenever I get a chance to get down there from PA in June or July. For a more positive outlook on things, the ride is longer now, even if only about 5 seconds or so. The rest of the ride after the 150 foot hill is probably more enjoyable as well, especially the 75 foot hill which now has more airtime from what I have read. There are also "rumors" about the ride getting new restraints over at kdfansite but I don't know how reliable that info is. -

It also seems to take 3-4 seconds longer to get over the 2nd hill. -

Would it have been possible to add the trims on the backside of the 150' hill? This would have kept the best parts of the ride intact, while keeping the improvements during the rest of the ride. With the trims on the 1st drop the blackouts/greyouts are potentially worse since the high positive g's are even more sustained. -
Which Coaster Gives The Best AIRTIME???
JayB18 replied to Crazy4Coasters!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For me it is Bizarro SFNE and Boulder Dash at Lake Compounce. -
I was originally planning on going to Six Flags Great Adventure, but after having to reschedule more than 3 times due to work scheduling complications and friend/family availability, I decided it isn't going to be worth the hassle. Also I'm sure the crowds will be terrible on a Friday in July. I will now be going to either Hershey or Dorney this summer. Unfortunately I have to go on a Friday since my brother is taking summer classes. Im having a tough time deciding between the 2 of them. Which would be less crowded on a Friday in July? Which park has a better selection of flat rides? I know Hershey crushes Dorney's coaster selection, but Dorney seems to have more water rides and a better water park. Overall my main concerns are lines and flat ride selection as the coasters at both parks seem great. Any help is appreciated.

The last time I was on Steel Force was in 2001 or 2002 and I remember the brake run severely slowing the ride down, destroying the airtime on the bunny hops at the end. I was disappointed because on previous trips (before the brakes killed the ride) I got some decent ejector air on those hills. Can anyone who has been on Steel Force recently let me know if the MCBR brakes still significantly slow the ride down. Thanks

I will be going to Great Adventure for the first time on Wednesday July 8th and I have a few questions. How are the crowds and lines generally around this time of year. What coasters are rough? (Im going with friends who dislike rough rides) Do they give out free ice water? Is it possible to ride the 15-20 rides I want to try, some more than once (El Toro and Nitro mainly) without a Gold Flash Pass? (most likely getting one since my friends don't like to wait even 30-45 minutes) What are the best places to eat, regardless of price? Any other tips or recommendations? Thanks for any help.
