Hey all. Evan, a GCI engineer is doing an AMA on Reddit. Ask him a question! Link: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/156ma3/i_am_evan_a_roller_coaster_engineer_ama/

I think we have the list up to "working in a restaurant or food service, working in the airplane business, and working at an amusement park during the busy season". Honestly, I'm glad that Busch Gardens had a packed night. I didn't think that it would be as busy as last night. I do understand people's complaints about traffic being terrible into the park. Busch Blvd is only a 4 lane road, so it can back up very quickly. I'm sure BG had most, if not all, the parking gates open that evening. I was very upset that one lady had to post so much on BG's facebook that all they wanted to do was take people's money and that BG should take some notes from Mickey. This is their first year and they will have kinks. Complaining that it's too crowded at a major attraction is like complaining that airport security is too long during peak flight hours. It's just stupid to complain about it when it should be obvious that it will occur. I know I will be going on a Sunday, as it should be quieter than any Saturday.

I would suggest either the Dinner Show or the front of the line pass. The first is $26 and you get first access to the houses before the rest of the people who didn't get the dinner come in, but after that, you're stuck in the lines. The quick queue is $35, and it lasts all night. Either way, try to do as many houses first when the lines are short. Then try the rides later in the evening. Sheikra and Cheetah Hunt will be long all night, but Montu and Kumba should be walk ons. Enjoy!

Unusual ride accidents

^^ and I hate this one, cause the guy was taunting the seagulls near Sheikra, which caused the accident. www.keepbusy.net/play.php?id=girl-on-roller-coaster-owned-by-seagull -
The "GP" of Theme Parks Facebook Thread!

^How could you have missed this one? (Unless it wasn't posted when you looked.) -
The lines. I went twice last year, Freaky Preview Sept. 23 (Friday) and TPR's Busch Bash Oct 22 (Saturday). The lines were terrible in October, while in September, my girlfriend and I walked into every house. I also had better timing with the walking hoards in Sept. than in Oct, maybe due to the lack of people so they were able to move around more. This is not always true. They were great both dates and I would have gone back a third time I had the money! Can't wait for my visit this year.

I just noticed my "quote" above my photo. That's....a weird one...

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

Chiggers...had to look that one up. Well that would be uncomfortable on the ride! -
So I have 2 updates, all coming from my roommate who works on skyride. First, he said that the Drop Tower may have been put on hold...permanently. So we may not see it in awhile, if ever. Second, he learned that all of the employees from Rhino Ralley have been fired or moved. I have not been in the park to confirm its closure, but it looks like it may be removed eventually. I guess we'll see.

If it's a weekday, then 9am-7pm (based on your estimated time) is "almost" too much time. I mean that based on how tired you will be. You could get away with leaving at 7 or 8 and do a 11/12-7 day. Even a weekend day in September would be slow, but we don't know if there will be millions of Brazilian tours that day. As for comparing coasters to Orlando, there is none. Flats are not great, but the animal enclosures are a nice break for a large park. If you're up for the drive, I'd say do it!

So I'm a little surprised this was not posted here in a month. attractionsmagazine.com/blog/2012/07/13/hos-insider-teases-howl-o-scream-2012-line-up/ I for one am excited for Zombie Mortuary, Ultimate Gamble, Blood Asylum, and Circus of Superstitions. And Scarezones plus walking hordes? This could be better than last year! I hope we can have another TPR event, or at least a TPoRlando group.

Hidden/Secluded Park Areas
jjune4991 replied to coastercrazy 9's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I could have sworn I posted already on this thread. Oh well: BGA: Pathway behind Tut's tomb towards the Crown Colony house and Edge of Africa. Unfortunately, there is a new smoking area at the old train station, so it now has more traffic, and I wouldn't hang out near there too long. IOA: As mentioned, the shortcut through Seuss Landing and the lakeside section of the restaurant in Jurassic Park.
