Poor kid, poor monorails, this is horrible news. On the good side, tragedy always brings change. Those people in the article were quoted as saying that they would not be riding the monorail (they obviously didn't realize that they had no choice) so Disney needs to instill confidence and trust in their system somehow. Perhaps they will be fast tracking the new generation of monorails.

Cool stuff, thanks for the pictures and the commentary. -
That article is packed with information, nice find! Indoor snow? Count me in. ^LOL indeed! I had to look the wordfilter thing up, but I guess that's why there are so many dings and dongs going on over at the Rip Ride Rockit forum... locker Haha, it worked! This is like a scavenger hunt, there needs to be a forum with all the words that have been discovered.

I see the nolimits ride video is not on youtube (or coastertube) for those of us without the software. Anyone feel like making one? -
Yes the books are good, yes you should read them. If they are fresh in your mind going into the park, you will be amazed at how you have been transported into the world you just read about. You will be amazed anyways, of course. I would say the early books were very good because there is a sense of wonder at this new world, and Rowling has written them so you are also discovering the secrets and magic along with Harry. Engaging read as long as you remember it's fun fiction, not real life! I think it's funny how they blocked off the picture spot by the gate. They really didn't seem to have any problems with people going back there except our kind. No more 3D screen pictures then? Anyhoo, there is a new update at Orlando Rocks. I'll post some of their pics here. The scaffolding from HatetoFly's picture is quite high now, impressive. Is this another new wall going up on my favorite box in the world?

I love innovative new rides! That's so cool. I hope that S&S installs something like Tranan stateside for those of us domestic types. -
I'm sure people here watch the TV coaster specials. I didn't wait in this line, but soon after Millennium Force opened there was one of those specials and they had a great shot that followed the line way out into the western themed area, they gave a wait time of something like 3.5 hours or perhaps longer.

The British make up a substantial part of the guests who visit these kinds of parks for holiday, vacation to us. They are a very important demographic to both Disney and Universal. In fact, this reminds me of a story I read regarding the proposed exclusive jungle themed attraction experience that Disney has been working on for ages. A British fellow was taking an online survey for amusement parks, and once he stated that he was British, the survey provided him with a video to watch about that particular project and then requested feedback about his interest. Point is that he was considered an important customer because he comes from abroad with money to spend on vacation.

^I take back what I said. I thought it was rust, it's just paint. I even took a picture back when I visited to figure that question out and forgot about it until just now. I'm very proud of my tiny camera's zoom! And just to spice things up, my tall friend + my hands bring you this picture from my last visit. Random, but I'm sure it will interest someone. Check out that PAINT and Hagrid's Hut.

Track Spottings!
Shellemonster replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So now we have mystery yellow supports on site at King's Dominion and mystery yellow track at the B&M plant. It's a real shame that the track and the supports don't fit together though. Round connectors on the supports, square mounts on this track. There's pictures in the King's Dominion forum. Forum Link -

While I do believe this will be an Intamin, there are a number of strange, but important, differences between these types of supports that seem conflicting to me. I'm going to be technical, so sorry if you don't care. The first thing I noticed, the circular connection points (track connection?) are not ribbed which hypothetically reduces the strength while iSpeed's are ribbed. The octagonal bases now appear thicker and sport a different bolt pattern. Also, the entire support is fully boxed, notably the angled connector coming from the "top" and sports an external flange. The iSpeed model resembles an I-beam for each part and bolts together internally. These changes may just be design revisions, reactions to what they learned from iSpeed, but it seems like a quick turnaround for a redesign. -

14/20, I would call that nerdliness and guessliness. -
Check out the last picture from HatetoFLY's update, that structure on the right side top of the building where the clock tower will be. (I haven't seen it posted here so I'll mention it, the concept art has been changed from having a generic building on the right side to having that be the clock tower.) It appears that the building is being designed to be viewed from that upper floor area on the inside. Interesting...

Haha! I assume you're implying that this is where the mystery track is going?

I drive pass the billboards and exits for this park every time I come home from school, and it calls out to the coaster enthusiast in me. I think the only way I could visit this park is to sleep overnight in a rest area... oh the adventures of college.
