  1. Robb, you've put an closing tag instead of an closing tag in the Tatsu testing video page, that's why it doesn't work in FireFox.
  2. It's actually a wordplay on the name Kålle, which is a nickname for the name Karl only used in Gothenburg. Kålle is also a character used in a set of Gothenburg-based jokes that are well known throughout Sweden.
  3. Yes, when I saw the thread title I at first thought they were going to open a park here in Europe.
  4. It's amazing that the coasters are open in the snow, but is it really pleasant to ride a coaster when it's that cold? I did some calculations of how it cold it would be to ride Balder here at Liseberg if it were open today and if you factor in windchill. It's -5C / 23F here right now. The top speed of Balder is 90kph / 56mph. With the windchill at that speed it would feel like -28C / -19F. That's pretty darn cold.
  5. It's the other way around, objects contract when cold and expand when hot.
  6. Cold!? By my standards it's never cold in the Los Angeles area.
  7. It was done on purpose. There were a lot of complaining on the official forums about not having any boosters, so they made the block brakes into boosters in the first patch.
  8. Voted for Speed Monster, because it's the only one of the new coasters I'll likely be able to ride during 2006, except possibly Expedition Everest if I can get my orlando trip sorted out (but sadly that doesn't seem likely at the moment).
  9. I haven't ridden that many coasters in my life, only about 30, but these two are my favorites so far: Balder @ Liseberg Apollo's Chariot @ BGW
  10. ^^ I read in another article about this that he has received $30 million in royalties.
  11. Tusenfryd actually has a suprisingly low attendance level, only about 450 000 visitors per year. In comparison, Liseberg, which I think is the closest major park, has an attendance level of 3.5 million visitors per year. Oslo is a larger city than Gothenburg if I'm not mistaken, so I expected it to be a lot higher than just 450 000.
  12. Yes, you are correct. But as I said, they have some land they already own to the south of the park that they are going to expand into. It's a parking lot there now, but they've already built a new parking garage to replace it.
  13. Hopefully this could be the start of some "friendly competition" between Tusenfryd and Liseberg, but I doubt it since Liseberg have very little space for coasters. They've said will be expanding into their parkinglot to the south of the park at some point though, so you never know...
  14. I live about 15 min from Liseberg and I have a season entrance pass so I will be going there. Maybe I'll be able to help you.
  15. I've never ridden a wild mouse , but yes, it kind of seems that way. One moment you're in a tight turn banked almost 90 degrees, the next it whips you into a turn the other way, also banked almost 90 degrees. That's a transition of almost 180 degrees in no time at all. When i rode it the first time in the back I thought it was almost too violent.
  16. Wow, my first post here. Nice timing on this, since I was at Liseberg yesterday. I live about 15 min from the park so it isn't that big of a deal though. No crowds this late in the season so there was partically no waiting time at all, 5 min for Kanonen, 10 min for Balder and 5 min for Lisebergbanan.
