  1. *Busch season pass owner reporting for duty*

-I don't know the exact order, but I do know that Alpengiest opens fairly early...

    -I have no idea

-Most lines are kept short, even Griffon's. The only ride that has a very long line is BBW...

-If your kids are a old enough not to get scared too easily, Corkscrew hill is good... Escape from Pompeii is a fun one, and it will really cool you off... If you have kids Le-Scoot Log Floom is always great.

    Isn't that the same question?

-I don't really know what this is supposed to be

-If you eat meat Das Festaus (or however you spell it) is great and entertaining... Italy isn't half bad either! (The one must try is the pickles. BGW has great pickles)

-I am not really sure what this means. If you want good seats, hear are some of my recommended sweet spots.

-Second or third row on Loch Ness

    -Front of BBW

    -Front on Alpengiest

    -Back edge on Griffon

    -Front on Appollo

    -Griffon

-Don't just ride rollercoaster... Wander around and appreciate the theming... You will be amazed at some of the details... Also, Darkastle lines are insane... Try to get in a ride on it early...

I go to Busch Gardens very, very often, so any other questions can be PMed to me...

  2. GP: I just rode the fastest, tallest coaster

    Me: Kingda Ka?

GP: No Griffon. What are you, an idiot?

These are quotes I tend to disagree with.

See has he ever left the state? What parks has he been to? Did he specifically say "tallest fastest IN THE WORLD"? Did you reply, "Kingda Ka isn't here though!"? Had he ever heard of Kingda Ka?

When people are misinformed about coasters I don't consider them weird or stupid because they are not us. My GF is very into coasters but she always asks which is the tallest or fastest and even things like, "I thought you said MF was taller the TTD" or things like that.

Same applies to when someone says, "Wow this is the best wood coaster ever!" to something like Blue Streak or similar and an enthusiast goes, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!?? Are you stupid everyone knows this is small and El Toro/Balder is the best wooden coaster!!!"

Teehee, here's the thing. He called me an idiot...

  3. ^ What about the Pirates of the Caribbean ride? How they ruined it?

I wasn't thinking about the ride. I was thinking about the movie. At first, I thought the movie was going to be lame, but then i thought, the POTC movies are very successful. BUT that also has a negative effect on the ride... Lets just hope that Disney can contain themselves....

BUT Big Thunder Mountain just isn't my favorite Disney ride. To be completely honest, I wouldn't mind some extra theming.

  4. TPR, if you owned a successful theme park, what would you do with it? What roller coaster companies would you consult? What types of coasters would you include? What kinds of theming? Be specific!

I have always thought it would be really cool to have a 20th century themed park, with a well-themed section for each decade. At some point in the 30s or 40s section, I would get a B&M dueling inverted coaster (like Dueling Dragons) but theme it like a dogfight.

    What would you do?

  5. She's a dirty whore.

Ohh, wait, we're talking about the Chance-Morgan coaster company.

Well...I've only been on one, Steel Force. While it's a "fun" ride, and I really enjoy all coasters...I'd have to say, I'm not surprised that it's been 5 years since they've gotten any business.

Even conservative companies like Bolliger & Mabillard update their designs/trains periodically. Morgan has pretty much stuck to the same exact thing for years and years. Sure, their coasters are fun, but they don't compare to the competition. What incentive would a park have to buy a Morgan hypercoaster, when they can consult Intamin or B&M and get a more popular design, and spend the same amount on steel? If they could come up with a design that could eclipse their rivals, they'd probably get a decent amount of business.

That being said, it almost seems like they're on a coaster-building hiatus. Does anyone know if they even submit bids for projects to parks anymore?

This is a really good point...

  6. I was looking at the picture of this red track for a while trying to decide what kind of element it might contribute to on the coaster. I looks like perhaps the top of a lift hill, the bottom of a drop, or coming out of a bunny hop. This is because it is unusually straight for B&M tracks. This is just my speculation and I am fully prepared to be proven wrong.

    -Alex
