  1. Remember it vividly. Was a good, snappy little ride. Still don't get why they felt the need to remove it, once Ninja was installed.
  2. The lower knee portion of the harness was on the same "gear" (for lack of a better word), and when the shoulder restraint lowered, the knee pads came up. The question was asked earlier, but the image above is of the restraint as I rode it, which was after the accident. This must have been taken before however, as it seems to be missing the locked waist-level seatbelt.
  3. According to the press release, it's a "looping thrill ride." I rode El Diablo at SFGAdv this year - this will be a solid addition. The lighting package on these things are great, and it's going to look good in the Rush Street Flyer spot.
  4. So, taking a guess, I'd say that times up for the "Rush Street Flyer," and it's being replaced by a Larson Loop thingy?
  5. I've been around long enough to know better
  6. So, according to an email sent today, SFSTL will make a "Huge Announcement" for something "unbelievable" on Thursday Sept 3.
  7. Finally made it out to the park last night to meet friends stopping through St. Louis. Hotter than you-know-what, but we made the best of it. Was surprised to see that Justice League was completely closed. As was Superman TOP. And Sky Screamer. Is Justice League having that many problems? Sure hope to ride it sometime this year... The Boss was running *very* well yesterday. It's impressive how well that ride is kept up! Although I'm a big RMC fan, I hope that they never convert the ride. Eagle was its' squeaky self, but the track was in great shape as well.
  8. Thought I'd add to the conversation - I'm nearly 50 and I don't find the Voyage too rough at all. Intense? Yes. Rough? No.
  9. Quick comment regarding the Thunderbird vs. Wild Eagle vest restraint. When I rode Wild Eagle a few years ago, the vest did tighten through the ride. This really didn't bother me much, but my partner hated it. Thunderbird's vest, however doesn't do this and is quite comfortable.
  10. Suggestion time? Please, please make a separate, designated front seat queue for The Boss and for The Screaming Eagle. Both stations have a the room near the front of the train, and would would make the lines for both rides move much, much faster. I've never understood why this hasn't been done in the past as (for example) at the Screaming Eagle, ride ops constantly have to remind everyone to keep the line moving as people try to squeeze in the front seat line. Same thing seems to happen at the Boss as well. Also? More vegetarian-friendly food options would keep me from leaving the park for food. I like cheese pizza, but not that much. Maybe a simple veggie burger at Mooseburger Lodge? Thanks!
  11. If you're referring to the squeal made as the train crests the hill tops, turns, etc. it was there a couple of weeks ago. One of the most interesting features of Outlaw Run is how much it *hasn't* changed since it opened. The speed, intensity, smoothness, etc. seems to be the same now as the month it opened. Typically, wooden coasters feel different almost daily, but not here.
  12. Outlaw Run rough? I was just there a little over a week ago and to me it was as smooth as when it opened. Didn't feel any bumps at all, and I rode mostly in the very back seat. Strange.
  13. The Tidal Wave flume has always been empty after the lift. I only rode it once, during it's opening season, and I still remember how strange I thought that was at the time. Lots of squeaks as the boat rounded the corner!
  14. If I'm not mistaken, the RMC work on the Boss was a few years back, and it was mainly the installation of the L shaped side brackets put in place to keep the laminated stack of wood on the track secure. It did make a significant difference, at least during the first season or two after installation.
  15. If this flips as much as it does in the animation, it'll be like a Zipper on a track. Me likey - a LOT. Really need to get back to SFFT!
  16. Yes. ERT, and usually a behind-the-scenes tour as well. Not sure if it's cool to post a link, so feel free to PM me for details.
  17. ^I'm down for a meet-up. About the only time I get to the park any more is during the "Daredevil Daze" local ACE event. Have you considered attending? It's usually a really good time.
  18. An observation - they just began advertising in the St. Louis market along with Indiana tourism. Doubtful that most people in the St. Louis area know what a B&M wing coaster is. I predict that Thunderbird will be a HUGE hit, and will attract a crowd from far and wide.
  19. According to Twitter, reporters have been told nothing. They have to wait like the rest of us! Shouldn't be any early leaks...
  20. Sigh... Of all the *many* things that need attention at SFStl, Scooby isn't really one of them... I realize that it might be a maintenance issue with the boats, but of all of the Sally Scooby rides, this is the best one. Probably one of the best Sally shooter rides ever.
  21. Regarding lift chain speed. I was there this past weekend, and I didn't notice any difference from last year. If it has indeed been slowed, it isn't the least bit noticeable. What IS noticeable, however, is the big improvement of the new shin bar thingy on the lap bar. MUCH better than the straight across version of 2013. Much. I'm about 6 ft tall, BTW, and I had a hard time putting my feet flat on the floor last year. Not the case anymore. Outlaw Run is IMHO one of the most insane rides ever built - and I'm kinda old
  22. The Eagle turns were banked to their current form in 1990 when the "New! Faster!" Screamin Eagle went to the current 2 bench PTC trains. The double-up hill thingy after the 180 turn was removed in 1996 or 1997 I believe.
  23. As much as I hate that we've inherited Flashback, I think it looks really great in this spot.
  24. While re-watching the promo video, I noticed the 1st lap bar train shot seems to be a hyper - most likely the Morgan ride at Six Flags Mexico. This appears at about 3 seconds in. Later, at about 21 seconds riders are shown in a Premier Shuttle - presumably Mr. Freeze. While I hope that these are sublte hints of of a lap bar only train, I very much doubt it.
  25. How about calling it the "Schilke Sling?"
