Crap, I liked East of Chicago. I mean, I like Dairy Queen okay, but I can't imagine ever going there while in Sandusky--not while Toft's still exists. I like toft's as well, but it's just too expensive. I am working on the next update right now. $600 for ice cream?

I was able to take a tour of cedar point yesterday and took a bunch of pictures to share. I also learned a few things about next year at the park. 1. East of chicago pizza is being replaced by a dairy qween. 2. Rock star will not be returning. 3. Ocean motion will return to demon drops old site, right next to the bathrooms(Demon drops entrance area. 4. It does not look like choas will be returning. This is a large trip report, so I am going to break it up with a few updates. I hope you all enjoy........ Part TWO of this report - Coaster Trains - Can be viewed HERE! Since this is the christmas season, I will start this report off with cedar point's christmas tree. Even snoopy was decked out in christmas swag. If you want to see the progress of windseeker, you will have to wait till next year as it's nothing but a pile of dirt right now. See.....Dirt More dirt and stuff.... That's not snow over the water, it's seagels(sp)....and lot's of them. No footers to look at quite yet. Just a bunch of dirt.....nothing to see here...move along... Wanna know what's more amazing then dirt??? If you guessed "boobs", your right!!! All of ocean motions themeing is being stored under the stadium. The 4x4 ride was also in the area. The 4x4's have balls.....just in the form of this. I am not sure if the jet ski rental is going to be returning to the same spot next year, as the building looked totaly empty. I looked over tourds dragster, and there were people actually working way up there. Anybody guess what this is? ??Hmmmm?? Something is missing here. And is was not just the crowds... More ocean motion crap. Random behind the scenes shot. Yep....there is a tree missing. Oh yea, and choas is missing as well. Giant wheel....naked!!! Kiddie land Troika was in pieces. See..... Lighting for the ride. Looks like a green r2d2. I see you giant wheel cabins... Maxair was all wraped up for the season. Snow on the midway. It looked like a ghost town. Sky ride station. Even the cow gets wrapped up. Merry go round. The horses were all under blankets. I am still getting used to this area with no demon drop. Soon, this area will be the new home of ocean motion. Lots of little flags. In the meantime, ocean motion waits in the parking lot. The picinic area was all blocked in. This is where the maintanance of all the rides is done in the winter. Cool drink anyone? Pieces of calypso. More pieces. Rock star will not return next year. The park is preparing a new show. So empty..... The only sign of life right now. Random shot... Noted.... Blue streak was feeling blue. No trains....no people... No wait for the front seat eather. The old pirat ride location. Calypso naked... More pieces of the ride sitting on the midway. Sigh..... See you in the spring blue streak. Cedar downs was getting some roof work done. The arcade was all sealed up. It almost looks like it had a fire. Something you never get to see at a cedar fair park......NO GARBAGE CANS!!! Everything had winter condoms on. Empty.... The dodgems building was also sealed up and being used as a work shop. This way to millennium force. Coasters drive in. Another look at the dodgems. It was like a scene out of zombieland. Matterhorn. The skyride cabins were sitting in the station. Scrambler. The lagoon is drained every winter. All that is left, is a pool of mud. Shot of the midway. Kind of spooky. Scrambler all bundled up. A closer look at matterhorn. I see you dragster. Good time theater Nachos anyone? Or how about one of these? Wires everywhere. Behind matterhorn is the laundry dept. The water tower. Employee wardrobe dept. Can anybody guess what this place is? If you guessed this, than you were right. Another random shot. This is where the food is stored. The girls dorm rooms. I spent lot's of time there when I worked at the park. Raptor trains. There will be a lot more of the trains in the next update.

Just started a new job, but I should have more up by this weekend.

They look like fun, but by the look's of it, it look's like the line is going to take forever. What's the capacity of one of these slides?

All future plans may change because according to screamscape(Rumor mill), Disney is interested in buying universal studios theme parks. I know it's just a rumor, but interesting none the less.

Thank you. I have a lot more, but it will be a bit before I update this thread. I am starting a new job, and mix in all the christmas madness and the other 4 jobs I have, that will not leave me a lot of time.

I refuse to eat at cedar fair parks. On closing weekend at cedar point, they raised the price of a large soda up to $5.50. Besides the high outragous prices, the food quality is just below what they would serve at a soup kitchen. Six flags has bad food as well, but not nearly as bad as cedarfair parks do. Last time we went to magic mountain, we ate at a quiznos just on the other side of the expressway at the same exit as the park. I got a great sub AND drink for around $6. Here are a few examples of cedarfair. This was the prices on opening day at cedarpoint. Since then, the price has shot up another buck to $5.50. They now charge twice as much as what disneyland is charging for the same size drink. This is for the crappy buffet at cedarpoint.This is the same buffet that they use such high quality hamburger, that we had chunks of bone in our food. What a deal.... The re was 10x more bun than burnt brat. Made you so thristy, that you had to buy a soda since they were not included anymore. $6 for a hot dog that is about the same size as a ballpark frank. More great deals to be had at dorney park.Only $20 for a few pieces of chicken. Makes you want to buy 5 or six of them. Over at carowinds, there are all kinds of great deals for a bottle of soda. Pizza anyone? Only $25

Kinda off topic here, but did anyone see Jimmy Kimbel last night? Him and his guest brought up magic mountain, and made it sound like it's full of thugs. On the food subject, I agree that the food at six flags is not that great. But I will take six flags slop over the garbage that cedar fair parks are dishing out any day.

Due to me being very busy as of late, and the lack of interest of this thread, this will be the last update till at least after christmas. This is part of the Disneyland space mountain s.o.p manual. The cover. Just like in the mean streak s.o.p book, there is a test that you have to pass before you can operate the ride.

How much is this costing six flags? I remember reading it somewhere, but can't remember what the price tag was. I am not sure that CF would be saving much, if any money re-doing mean streak. Not only would the whole ride have to get reprofiled, but you have to get new rolling stock and several other things. Even then, with mean streak (or sob), will people forget about what kind of ride it was and give it another chance? Or have they written the ride off and swore to not ever go near it again? A new woodie cost's what? 7-8 million? I can't wait to see how this ride turns out, and if it does I think there are several other coasters out there that are more deserving than mean streak. I have to side with Rob on this one.
