KD Photo TR 4-6-09 Spring Break
bpmitchell replied to bpmitchell's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I had to leave early because I had my g/f sitting in the car waiting for me and it was raining so I only stayed 2 hrs. I do plan on going to the park today if time persists. -
KD Photo TR 4-6-09 Spring Break

forgot to let everyone know photos are from yesterday, sorry for the mixup. -
Well I made a stop by the park today on my way to DC for some time off and spring break with my g/f Sara. The park was completely dead with about 45-50 cars in the parking lot and lots of rides not running. Dominator was on and off most of the day with the train getting stuck in the break run 2 times in a row. On my way out of the park it was stuck with passengers and it was pouring rain. I spent 2 hrs in the park and catched up on rides I didn't ride on opening day. I did Dominator in the front row with no wait, Volcano 2 times with no wait front row 1 time with no wait at all, anaconda, and took lots of pics of Americana and El Dorado. Here are the photos: Americana is still under construction, not much going on today except for some lights going in Americana again 4 cars were missing the red roof Here are 2 of the cars missing the roof together The other 2 cars missing the red roof Here is a closeup of the car The Queue line fence is made of wood like El Dorado which is classic Americana Logo looks nice Workers putting on light bulbs Americana car logo closeup El Dorado Logo This photo stands out and would look nice on KD's rides page for El Dorado The crane is working on the grizzly track work, it was moving around a little today Closeup of the crane A beautiful photo of Americana through the trees And now a photo for all you guys that have seen or not seen a completely empty queue line for Volcano before: I hope you guys enjoy! -Brian-

Photo TR: Hanno's start to the 2009 coaster season
bpmitchell replied to Hhappy's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
The restraints look like adult sized highchairs, lol. The ride looks insane and I hope to ride it in the near future. It looks like the newest version of Millennium Force at CP but with a launch. -
Nice TR! I am hoping to visit the park in June sometime, that is bad though that most of the rides were down but heavy wind can play a role in ride closure because the rides need gravity to get over the next part of the ride and heavy wind can deny it from making it.

Hey Chuck I was at the park on Sunday as well. I have never met you before but I have seen you around so next time you are planning on going to the park I'll like to meet up with ya for a hour or so. Well the funnest pic or moment I thought of from the day would have to be this pre season christmas town photo for all you Santa Claus lovers. Here ya go: Photo by Clint Novak of the coastercrew. Other than that it was a wonderful day and the lines were minimal to no wait at all. Great photos Chuck! -
Skoosh.com for booking a hotel
bpmitchell replied to Moose's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I work in the hotel business as well, I have never heard of these guys but most of my hotel reservations come through differently, so some people may use them to book rooms with. I strongly urge that if you are going to use a 3rd party site to book your room, please double check with the hotel prior to arrival that your room type and all is what you want because sometimes people book non smoking rooms and they come through our system as smoking rooms. Just be careful and safe shopping for your hotel room. -Brian- -
Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
bpmitchell replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have my platinum pass for this upcoming season. This may be my last full season of owning a season pass due to next year saving up money for a house and planning on going back to school etc. I am going to enjoy it while I can. Anyways I'm looking forward to April 5th I can't make it on opening day I work every Saturday so it won't cut it for me. I'm looking forward to some laps on Dominator and the many new changes happening this year. -
Photo Showcase: Dominator at night
bpmitchell replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
hey jeff great pics! I'm hoping to do some photos this summer and am looking at getting into some night time photography. I'm using bigstockphoto.com right now to try and sell photowork but as long as the photos don't have any logos or copyrights they are fine. I like the sunset shots, those are awesome. -

Six Flags May Not Survive 2009...
bpmitchell replied to sfmmrules!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If Six Flags can turn a profit and not give Mark Shapiro huge bonuses, then yea they may survive 2009. The problem behind the economy is that all these big fat suit dressed ceos and shareholders walk off with dividends and huge bonuses, and make us look like a bunch of hoes. -

I'll let the strippers know, they may sign up for TPR and start commenting on this thread, who knows what they have to say -
Track Spottings!
bpmitchell replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You do realize that strippers are, in general, paid to say that they're into the same things as potential customers, right? yea but we got to talk and chat with them for free for 15-20 mins the other night, one of the greatest in the loop shows ever. -

bpmitchell replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
the enlightened strippers blogtalkradio show loves coaster dorks like us, go and listen to their radioshow monday night at 8pm. In the loop called them up last night, it was so much fun getting to talk to some strippers who like coaster dorks like us. -

bpmitchell replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
lol, close tpr. I enjoy what the site has to offer with the international park scene and all. You're funny Robb, I enjoy all the site has to offer. Just some of the site members get a little too out of control. The coastercrew had a date with strippers the other night on in the loop, you missed all the fun Robb!! -
Track Spottings!
bpmitchell replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is one of the reasons why I don't come on these forums too much anymore. I enjoy the coastercrew forums more than all the pathetic back and forth talk that goes on here. I enjoy Robb and Elissa's enthusiasm for keeping this site going with the tons of people that come on here. It's great to have a community of coaster fans and ride dorks, but some people get way too much out of control. It's yellow track, get a life and find something else to conversate about. -
Track Spottings!
bpmitchell replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
a forum topic for people who have nothing better to do than to chat about yellow track from the b&m factory in Ohio. These words are from the coastercrew!
