  1. Damn got pretty excited when I saw this! Especially seeing how excited Rob is about it! The thing that's puzzling me though, is that Rob clearly quoted someone else saying this ride would have to cater for a large part of the family. I'm not sure most of the suggestions so far in this thread would really be that ~family friendly~. Especially the talk of drop towers. I'm also struggling to think of anything that is especially new and exciting AND family friendly. Personally I don't know what it could be but I'm going to go out and say that I really don't think it will be a launched wooden coaster. That just seems a little too simple and perhaps gimmicky considering the hype behind this, but whatever it is I cannot wait to find out and I'm sure it will be a complete surprise!
  2. Regarding people who are posting here discussing the reason for being overweight: What does it matter? All opinions aside - If she was overweight because of her own choices, then she (and no one else for that matter) can complain because that's her choice and she can't expect to ride a roller coaster if she's too overweight. If she wanted to she needs to lose the weight herself and make that choice. If she is overweight because of medical issue/herditary reasons then she (and again, no one else) can complain because that's just that and whilst it might be unfortunate, it's just like not being able to ride a roller coaster because you were born with no legs. (Rubbish example i know, but I hope it gets my point across). I just don't understand why this is even being discussed!?
  3. Thank you again. One more question (I think ). With the flash pass, if it tells you that it is your time to ride on one coaster, do you have a time limit to get to that ride? I was wondering because obviously, ideally you want to put yourself in a line with Q-bot and then wait physically in another line at the same time to make the most of your time.
  4. Thank you both for your responses - great help! At the moment we plan to head straight to YOLOcoaster then the other rides in the following order: Tatsu, Goliath, Lex Luther, Scream, X2 when the time is right and then from there just fit in any ride really... Does that sound good in terms of order? Also are there any rides that you think I should definitely include that I haven't named? Ninja maybe? Thanks
  5. Hi all! I am a UK fanatic about to visit the park early august. I remember reading someone post on here in the previous pages that you should wait to see if it is worth buying flash pass when you get there. Would the advice be the same for this time of year or is it pretty much definitely worth buying one early august? Also, with flash pass can you select rides to wait for whenever you want? For example, if i select to wait in line for tatsu can I select to wait in line for goliath straight after so i only have 10mins to walk from tatsu to goliath and then get straight on goliath? Or do I have to wait to select the next ride to wait in on the device? And one more question, I want to get in the park as soon as possible to get in x2 with little wait. How long do you think i need to get to park before opening time to be the first in? Sorry for so many questions - I did look over the last 15 or so pages but didn't find answers to these there. Your answers are much appreciated! Thanks
  6. I think we have to remember that this ride is still kind of unique. Even if the ride is very "meh", its still gonna be ridden by the general public because of the design of the trains. Air at Alton Towers may not be the most intense ride ever, but it still has one of the longest queue's in the park because of the novelty of the flying design and you can't take that novelty away from it. I also wonder this. With the intensity and high-class rides we've come to expect from Thorpe, will this be another TH13TEEN type of ride, where even if its unique its not a great ride? I guess we just have to hope that the design of the Thorpe one will be more intense. Having said this, will it matter to Thorpe weather or not its an intense ride? Looking back at the point i just made above, it probably won't matter as long as the general public ride it!
  7. Hey guys, i just installed rct2 on my computer, having only installed it once on my old computer ages ago. unfortunately i have two problems: Firstly, I have both the TT and WW expansion packs. The WW pack works fine, however with the TT expansion pack i install it, it says it has installed successfully, yet when i open the game although i can see all the scenarios, i can't open them. Instead, when i click on them it just comes up with a message saying, "Unable to load file... Requires Add-on pack: Time Twister". I really don't know what to do! I have tried reinstalling and running the set up as an administrator etc. Also, there is no yellow text at the top left of the start screen to say i have the expansion pack. Instead there is just a yellow + sign. Secondly, I have downloaded a saved game from the exxchange. When I go into rct2 i am able to see the file but when i double click to open it it comes up with a message, "Unable to load file... File contains invalid data". Any help would be much appreciated. -JC
  8. look at the plans!? The size of the plans really dont look big enough for it to be a 4D coaster.
  9. I really have no clue as to what this coaster is going to be at the moment, however i am betting it on being a big installation as the other SW's have been! Also from what DExter said... i think i would like to draw peoples attention to the word SIMILAR when they are talking about the noise tests. From this im trying to say that the ride we are getting at AT might not be the same make of coaster (a Gerstlauer) as the SAW ride they are getting at Thorpe. So they did the noise tests on a similar coaster in thorpe park but not one that is the same as the one we are getting at AT.
  10. 1. What do you find most useful about the front page? - Easy to see when there is a new update almost anywhere on the site - The right hand colomn 2. What do you find least useful about the front page? - Don't know! If there is something that i would find least useful i havn't used it yet! 3. Is anything on the front page confusing? - Well as other people have said, the first two columns! 4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates? - Normally i don't, but if i do it is never very far! 5. How often do you look at the front page? - about 3 times a week. Can be more when i am on holiday and stuff though! 6. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link? - I must admit i never knew there was one until checking just now! 7. What would you like to see added to the front page to make your visits to TPR better? - Maybe a smarter or more modern colour scheme? 8. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/leave alone/etc?
  11. Hello! I have a problem.............i tried to install rollercoaster tycoon 2 on my new laptop which has vista. While i was installing it however i had a pop-up saying my computer would restart in 2 minutes. I knew the installation of rollercoaster tycoon 2 would not finish in that time so i cancelled the installation and restarted my laptop. Then i came back on and tried to install it again only this time when i tried to do so it just said "do you wish to uninstall rollercoaster tycoon 2 and all of it's components?" so i clicked yes. Now though every time i try to install rollercoaster tycoon 2, it just says this same message. I have tried to remove the program from the control panel but it just won't go. I can't install it again because the message just pops up! Help please!?
