The "fit" of PTC trains
gatorchomp83 replied to KenniB's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm pretty skinny with a 34" waist and I find fitting onto most PTCs uncomfortable. Gwazi, Voyage, Raven off the top of my head aren't the most comfortable seating arrangements. -
Don't get me wrong, I'm VERY excited about this coaster and think it's going to be a lot of fun. However, if they had taken out the MCBR and put in a nice 360deg Egg Turn that goes over the station and back into the direction of the brakes, and then a nice little bunny hop like Fire Dragon that is lead by a trim, that would have made this ride that much better. There are ways around a MCBR that can control the speed going into the splash down, but with how intricate they seemed to have planned the "splash down," I'm sure there are plenty of ways to program it to their liking, regardless of the speed of the train.

^And as I said, if they run it like Kraken that brake run is going to be absolutely pointless. Up until around 2:30pm Saturday, they had one train on Kraken. Once the line reached the third "building," then they decided to add the second one. After adding the second one, they managed to stack them every cycle. We were sitting on the brakes for a good 3-4 minutes waiting for the other train to dispatch. I don't really care to complain and whine about dispatch times and whatnot, but that was ridiculous, and is precisely why I feel the MCBR on Manta was not needed.

LIVE UPDATE FROM ROB'S LIVING ROOM: Have not been shot, raped, robbed or murdered yet. For all the doubters, the area is very nice, as is the complex. Very homey. I'll be moving into the second bedroom within a month.

Went to Sea World today and got there right around 11:30 when they were installing the last piece of track. Manta definitely is taller than it looks in pictures, and the interaction with the non-riding public is going to be great. The location right in the front of the park is awesome, and that wing-dip is gonna make a nice first impression when entering the park.

Question is, do they have Slush Puppies by your place? If not, I'll go run to the Shell after work and drink one for you. Maybe I'll even bring one down for your drinking pleasure if you'd like.
