Going to CP tonight for Friday Saturday and Sunday, I'll post up some pics as well when I get back. Somehow I think that the suprise may be an opening earlier than June. I doubt it will be this weekend, but I can hope.

Anyone know if this is a true sighting? Anyone close enough to get a shot? And is it possible for a ride as large as this to be put together before King's Islands opening or at least somewhat close to the April 21st start of season?

I'm from Ohio (Dayton) and I have to say that I am amazed that so many people are talking about the loop being removed. The park we go to on the weekends is normaly Kings Island and I may be a bit jaded but I never concentrated much on the loop. I got on that ride and every time I thought of how bad it was going to beat up my sides, that was the fear element for me, and acording to the pictures in the cincy enquirer I was right. http://news.enquirer.com/assets/AB538031213.PDF shows the damage that was done to the ride in the official state report. The idea that the wood supports would be able to splinter like that blows my mind. I'm sure many of you on here have seen some scary coasters, (DubaiDave's trip report comes to mind), but to me SOB will be that much scarier when it reopens, even sans loop. [Cedar Point ... I saw your post and had to reply. Living in Ohio and knowing a few places around CP I want to strongly suggest you stay at one of the CP resorts. We stay at Breakers Express often and its perfect for us, we've stayed at the Hotel Breakers and I was angry with the money I spent, nice but not THAT nice. If those don't fit the bill try the Hampton Inn on Milan Rd. they were very nice to us and the hotel was very clean. If you want a peacefull place to stay and are willing to drive a little, try Maumee Bay State park, they have a nice hotel and its a beautiful park (my wife and I spent part of our Honeymoon there before going to Put In Bay and we loved it) Since you'll be in Ohio you may also want to check out King's Island its only about 4 hours away and thats if you go slow.
