  1. http://tinyurl.com/3bfeub About 2 and a half hours However, it's only about an hour further away than Kings Dominion. http://tinyurl.com/3bfeub
  2. We went on the weekend of September 20th last year. The weather was a little rainy at times, and kind of cold, and as such, crowds were light during daylight hours. A little worse at night, but still a fraction of peak summer crowds. Weekdays during May and early June are pretty light, too, but there are some organized school trips which will make for *some* lines.
  3. PKI is only about a 5 hr drive from CP. As others stated in the thread, You can easily hit Knoebels and Kennywood on your way from Ohio to SFGAdv. Most car rental companies won't rent to anyone under 25. Even then, you need a major credit card, or they will take a huge deposit from a debit card. If you go in May, or Early June, you can ride everything at CP in no more than two days. Maybe even one if you hurry. H
  4. A few ideas: Donkeytastic Assmasterful Burro Bomb Inexplicably Average Ow Big Ow Chiropractor Needed I Barf'd Climax Bargain!
  5. As unimaginative as the cross-Ohio trip is -- I think you'll have the most coasters to ride at the lowest cost to you. My wife and I are doing the same thing in May.
  6. Hi Ya'll. I posted a thread in Ask Alvey. I'm considering a Japan trip and would appreciate some feedback on the plan so far. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34057 Thanks in advance, and apologize for the slight crosspost. H
  7. Hi there, folks. Thanks so much for the awesome web site. Your Japan Trip stuff is singularly unique and awesome. I've always wanted to go to Japan -- -- and recently have just begun to have the income to consider it. I love steel coasters -- inverts, mainly, but not averse to anything else. I don't know when I'll go (next year?), but would you think the following is a decent itinerary for a 7-8 day trip? (I'd love to be able to go on your escorted Amazing Race trip, but I can neither afford it nor could I sustain the pace. ) My main priorities are Pyrenees, Titan, Gao and Steel Dragon. * Fly into Tokyo, stay in Tokyo. LaQua (Tokyo) Sea Paradise (Yokohama) Fujikyu Highlands (Fujiyoshida) (Maybe take in an onsen while in the Fuji area) * JR to Nagoya, stay there. Parque Espana (Shima, Mie) Nagashima Spa Land (Kuwana, Mie) * JR from Nagoya to Kitakyushu Space World (Yahata Higashi, Kitakyushu) Mitsui Greenland (Arao, Kumamoto) (Then fly back somehow ???) .. and is it just me, or is Mitsui Greenland a pain in the butt to get to? Everything else in your TRs seems to be another Vekoma SLC or something that you found painful or boring. I'd appreciate any feedback or insight you would care to give. Thanks in advance. H
  8. Weekend will be fairly rough due to Maverick opening, but during the week should be pretty OK. http://www.whentoride.com/graph_park.asp?state=36&park=1 May in general is pretty OK -- Even the first week of June last year was pretty open. The key is if Ohio schools are in session, I think. Also -- early afternoon in September is awesome. Everything is a walk-on. (Raptor three times in 45 mins.)
  9. I know I'm a little late to the party -- but my least favorite is Timber Wolf at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City. http://www.rcdb.com/qs.htm?quicksearch=timberwolf All the pain of Mean Streak with none of the fun. Even worse, very few trains, and poor line management. Basically, you wait forever, and then it hurts. Before you know it, it's done. You ask "Why did I just wait an hour to do that?" Then you walk to Mamba or Patriot and have a good time.
