  1. Thanks for the clarification on the Flashpass vs. G-Bot system. I just checked online, and it looks like the Flashpass is sold out for this weekend already. At least it won't allow me to add it to my shopping cart. Reading a little further, it looks like they only offer a limited number of those ticket packs per day. Without the Flashpass, I'm sure I won't be able to power-ride and hit all of the coasters. I may, however, just venture to the park anyway and ride what I can. I just may have to reconsider the order in which I go about riding each coaster; most desirable to least desirable.
  2. A business trip snafu to San Diego has left me with Sunday as a completely open day to do as I please. I've chosen to drive up from San Diego and conquer SFMM...or at least do what I can in one day. However, I need some help and advice so that I can maximize this visit and hit up as many coasters as possible from opening to closing. I've never been there so don't assume that I know the geography of the park and all of the secret shortcuts to the respective rides. Just try and explain them to me based on the park map provided via the website. I've gone through the SFMM Update thread and have taken in what information is there. I just want to make sure that it's current and up to date. My plan is to purchase a ticket on-line as well as flashpass. What I'd like to know about the flashpass is, can I process it outside of the park or do I have to be in the park to get my Q-Bot? The reason I ask about that is my desire to arrive early, be at the front of the "herd" and run to "X", as everyone has advised. That plan won't work if I have to get the Q-Bot inside of the park. Or, can I wait and pick it up after "X"? If anyone wants to take this offline and provide me with some information, let me know. I don't want to clog the thread with too much personal request information. Thanks
  3. "Variety is the spice of life". To keep from getting burned out, you have to mix it up. Otherwise, yeah, the fun wears off. Yet, the enthusiast in me is always scheming to get to that park I haven't visited or on that coaster I haven't ridden. So, I guess that's how I keep it fresh, knowing that I have these things to look forward to. Jim
  4. I don't know that I'll ever be jaded, as there are too many parks and coasters out there just waiting for me to conquer. And as others have expressed, it's not just about the coasters for me. I like to enjoy the rest of the park as well. Consider me a "Theme Park Enthusiast" first, coaster junkie second. Jim
  5. LOL....I know. Okay. Here goes. Expedition GeForce.... I hope I beat you this time.
  6. ^Okay, since you beat me by a keystroke and we posted at exactly the same time, I'll continue where you left off..."n" Nitro
  7. A tomatoe is not a vegetable....it's a fruit!
  8. The last one was finished about five minutes ago.....Molson Golden!
  9. No. Does Nascar suck?
  10. Yes, I made it on "69"!
  11. Hello TPR faithful! My name is Jim, and I’m finally making the transition from lurker to participant of this awesome website and community that Robb and Elissa have created. The forums, trip reports and videos definitely make this site the best of its kind on the web, bar none. I’ll try and tell you a little bit about me without taking up too much space or sounding like a total “dork”…..which, according to my daughters, I am. Anyway, I live in Amish Country, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; married, couple of teenage daughters, and lovin’ life. I guess you could say that I fall into the “older” demographic of enthusiasts, as I’m 44; hence “2Old4Coasters”. But hey, I’m most happy in a park, riding ‘til they close it down. It just never gets old. My home park is Hershey, since it is closest to me, but we go to Dorney more often then not as we have season passes there; reason being the Cedar Point (Favorite Park) perks. My family and I love theme parks, and we get out to about five or six a year. My job, however, takes me around the country and allows me to visit parks my family otherwise wouldn’t visit. I hit up whatever park happens to be closest to my destination. Needless to say, yes, I am one of the “Sad and Pathetic” ones you may happen to see….alone…..on a coaster…..but getting the credit and lovin’ every minute of it. I’m not much of a “coaster geek”, as my family would say I am. I don’t have the intimate knowledge of the various coaster manufacturers, coaster specs and all that. I just don’t have any desire to bother with it. I just like to “ride ‘em”. We’ll see though. I’m sure the more I’m in the forums, the more that information will rub off on me. Not that I really need to know the difference between an Intamin, Vekoma or GCII coaster to enjoy the ride, but, you never know. Anyway, enough said for now. I look forward to being a part of a great group of people and hope to get together with some of you in the near future.
