  1. I finally made the switch last week the very day Apple rolled out the newest update to the MacBook Pro with the new LED backlit display and the Santa Rosa chipset. I can honestly say I do not miss Windows at all... though I sadly did install windows on my mac as well so I can play RCT3. And I'm even finding it hard to restart the computer into Windows cause I'll miss OS X I'll say OS X isn't for everyone, there will always be fans of the other guy. Just depends what you like, and stop being afraid to try something new my switch was only strange for the first few hours when I was figuring out how much easier it was to install a program and even easier to uninstall.
  2. ^ You proved one of the reasons why that rule is now in place, Busch has a strict no filming on rides policy. Try asking, it will be a flat out no.
  3. Yeah that bag policy was the only thing that irked me (well that and the cold and snow flurries all day). Going into line at Apollo I had my camera hanging off my hand and was getting ready to put it in my pocket and the guy stopped me and said "That's not allowed past here." I was just kind of dumbfounded for a moment as he pointed to the lockers. And I asked straight up "Are they free?" Of course not, $1 for every time you ride? I'd have to be a millionaire to come to BGE. Doesn't Universal have a free locker system with fingerprint scan or something?
  4. ^Season Pass Holder Weekend on the 17th, so technically only 6 days left...
  5. Getting a Mac soon... but a look alike will do for now. My truly wanna be Mac desktop, holding out for the real thing until after OS X Leopard is released.
  6. Option 2 is probably more realistic, but Option 1 would look better for sure.
  7. ^...In addition to the small gift shop at the exit of the ride.
  8. I'm sure with only 23 days until guests enter the park again they'll mostly be working on pathways/buildings closest to the pre-existing Aquitaine so they can probably put the fence back up and continue working while the park operates regularly. According to the first construction tour there is supposed to be a gift shop built where the Le Mans Raceway queue was similar in size to Der Marketplatz im Oktoberfest Deutschland.
  9. Latest word is the track is all in place and they are filling in the concrete for the water splash and working on the lift hill. Only 33 more days till the park opens again
  10. ^Join the club Well there's only 38 days until season pass preview weekend.
  11. ^They installed that huge net around the track in that one place, and they also installed water jets that spray before the train passes. You can only really see the water jets in action if you take the Rhine River Cruise. The boat captains on the Rhine also joke about the goose and like to point that out.
  12. ^That would be a good question that no one has asked, nor has it been mentioned by anyone at the park. I would have guessed if they were able to choose the colors I would have expected gold and tan, but since Williamsburg was a little more strict about color choices we've been stuck with the dual-blue. Must admit I wasn't totally sold on the blue colors at first, but with the "thought process" of it representing the sky and the golden train being the actual griffon it works out. Not to mention when seeing it in person it does look very nice in the area.
  13. Feb 1st Hard Hat Tour Well it was a cold day indeed, snowed lightly a couple times while we were there. It was a great day as we got to talk to Walter Bolliger and Larry Giles about Griffon. Learned a ton of little details about the ride: 1st Immelman is 146 feet tall. 2nd Immelman is 100 feet tall. There will be a "slight" negative G on the hop going into the water splash. Their word was "slight". All 3 trains will have a different water splash unique to that train. And a few other things were explained such as why so many trees were removed (for irrigation issues and new trees will be planted etc). And they are getting ready to plant all the trees and shrubs "After all this is Busch Gardens." Good times, and I can't wait for Media Day!
  14. I'm off to the tour of Griffon, pictures will be on BGEscape.com this afternoon
  15. It was HORRIBLE. Sorry All it was was Totem Poles and fancy shmancy sculptures. It was really a let down. Blar! Well at least the architecture on the outside of the building is kickass to look at Oh, and the food at the museum is crap (or at least it was 4 years ago when I last had it) not to mention overpriced. Stay away...
  16. Living next the DC nearly my entire life, it's lost any special meaning in my life. Field trips galore to the museums all through school, gets really boring and such. Though I do have some favorite things in DC: Washington Monument, cool views from 500feet in the air through tiny windows though I haven't been in since the renovation and new gift shop...? WWII Memorial is one of the nicest monuments in that little area (if you need something that is visually interesting and not a deeper meaning like the Vietnam memorial). Air & Space Museum Certainly the most interesting of them all. Has IMAX Natural History Personal favorite also has IMAX American Indian Museum don't know much about it, brand new and haven't been inside yet. Holocaust (if you're interested) And the Museum of American History is getting major work done and has been shutdown, not sure for how long... Also the Modern Art is always interesting. Have fun.
