  1. Today I visited Dorney Park with a group of friends including one who up to till now (Age 22) had never been on a roller coaster in his life. Without a doubt this was the most enjoyable time I have had at a theme park in a looooooong time. I think it in part has to do with the fact that in my teenage years so much time was spent visiting parks and riding the same rides over and over. This lead to myself eventually becoming less and less interested with every visit to a park. It's been about 3 years or so since I have visited a park (minus WDW) and I have sort of regained an enthusiast craving to visit some more parks. We started my friend off big with Steel Force and he never looked back. We didn't ride a ton of things today but we were able to hit up every coaster at least twice minus Thunderhawk (open), Laser (closed), and Wild Mouse (closed). Sitting behind my friend on Steel Force going down that first drop was absolutely hilarious and worth the price of admission alone. When we got out of the train at the end of the ride you could see in his face how tense he was because he had never experienced anything like it. For myself, the two new rides were Hydra and Voodoo! Both were enjoyable with Voodoo providing a great ride similar to Wicked Twister and Hydra falling into the spot of younger sibling to Medusa. Overall the crowds were minimal with no wait more then 10-15 minutes. A bulk of the crowd was made up of class trips for the most part. Dorney Park has really been picking up their game and I think the addition of Voodoo was a VERY SMART MOVE! Anyway, I guess this isn't a true TR but I wanted to 'vent' about a hobby I have again
  2. ....now those are cool pics! I think I have discovered my geek fetish or something .... amusement park operator booths. Anyway, awesome pictures and I bet that's one of the better rides to work at in WDW!
  3. Now what was significant about the dog? The dog was sitting with the boy, 'Billy' and also his pet frog outside while his mother was talking to him from in the house......in addition to being next to Billy while he filmed everyone?
  4. Not to take anything away from Kristin, but why is she being idolized so much? Do not freak her out and make her "concept" of coaster enthusiast become known as stalker, annoying, etc, etc....and take a deep breath.
  5. Hey, So I started adding people, is anything supposed to happen once I enter the #'s and name? Do you all have to add me back? Let me know! Thanks Mike PS -- ADD ME!
  6. 7067 5873 3978 3973 Wii rules! Still want a PS3 but for right now I'm 100% happy!
  7. Letter writing campaign first, if not storm to the center of SF evil.... Give it a few hours, Six Flags is taking it slow on this wonderful Satuday lol.
  8. On most likely the hottest day of the summer, my parents and I decided to visit Knoebel's since we had not been there in almost 4 years. Actually, I haven't been to any parks in quite a few years minus Walt Disney World and the occasional visit to SFGADv. Knoebel's is a place that we have been going to ever since half my relatives moved near Hazleton more then 10 years ago. For some weird reason, we never got around to visiting the park in the last few seasons so today's visit was something I looked foward to. I'm not going to post much in the way of words with the pictures (which aren't that great but oh well) so here it goes..... We hit up the pool first and stayed there until around 3pm, it definetly was not NEARLY as crowded as I had expected! As the day went on the crowds increased, but it was definetly a surprise in the lack of them overall. Following this we rode all the rides the park has to offer until about 7pm. The park was EMPTY with a total of 0 train waits on both Phoenix and Twister.....my kind of park! Visiting today shows why this park is honestly one of the best out there, it just puts everyone in a great mood. Just when I was giving Six Flag's credit to becoming better parks, Knoebel's puts them back in place. Skyride! ...too bad I forgot the camera when we first went on it so now "view" pictures. Swings!! I'm in there, green car closest to camera Relaxing walk across the water.... Exclusive! Still freaks me out after all these years Anothere EXCLUSIVE! (She's a wh*re) One of the better drops on a log flume, good times.... Flying Turns construction Part 1! Flying Turns construction Part 2! You wish you provided El Toro air! (J/K ....still awesome) I'm the master of the snap ....not at all really. Sweet curves Twister station! Sweet spinning roofs over restaraunt and the END! It's been a few years since I've been to the 'pole and it was oh so sweet to be back... PS ---> Twister definetly was a dissapointment .... What happened to this ride? It was never a ride I thought was amazing, but it was still always fun. Today it rode pretty bad and the train shuffled and shook a lot.
  9. Well I must have last visited more then three years since at the time of that visit the slides were being dismantled with new pieces next to Twister....wow it's been a while.
  10. Hey! I haven't been to Knoebels in about 3 seasons and since then I read they have installed new waterslides at the pool. Are they the same basic style as the old ones or did they make them a little more interesting?'
  11. People love to rip of SFGAdv .....when they wish their Six Flag's park had what it has. Even at it's worst, it blows away pretty much any other park in the chain. That being said, it most likely was SFGAdv where this occured LOL jk.
  12. Poor park? I really enjoy the Gadv hate-hype machine.....blah blah blah. It's not the best park ever, but when it's running full force it's a great park with a nice selection of coasters. Yea it's been hit or miss the last few years, but we have to blame more the bigger corporation (Premier, etc..) for the lack of funds for employees, employee morals, management, etc....I think the park is heading in the right direction with the new owners and you can tell from the minute you enter the park in the morning. Something as little as a kids dance show creates such a positive vibe. With the great setting of a ton of trees and being on a lake, the park was something going for it. The addition of GREAT flower spots and such have made the park even better looking then ever before! It's just like in the music scene, people don't even listen or give a band more then one chance and write them off.
  13. I was first in line today for when it re-opened (11:15am ...1hr 15 mins late!) and even though they tested with two trains, it opened with only ONE! I rode front row and honestly after all the coasters I've been on, it blew them all away. Anyway, for my second ride which I took right away the line started to form. It was at the same point that I had waited a week earlier (took 2hrs+) but they added the second train after I had gotten halfway through the queue! The line after that went REALLY fast and from the people I talked to it was running at a 45 minute wait! Yea the ride has hype and luckily it meets it. No, I haven't ridden hundreds of coasters but compared to other airtime machines (Superman SFNE LOL) it's at the same level if not better.
  14. Well since your 'going', could you give us more details such as time and all the good stuff?
