  1. Very cool video! It's not very often that you get to see props for rides being made.
  2. Oh no don't get me wrong, I'm not being impatient or complaining really. I'm just a little surprised they didn't show more of an overview of the site that showed a little bit more of the scope of the project. I know how long these things take and I enjoy the suspense of seeing what the final product will look like!
  3. ^Kind of a pointless video, don't you think? They should have waited a few more weeks so we could see more.
  4. I haven't been there since Apocolypse opened or X was revamped to X2, but my two favorites were Tatsu and Goliath, followed closely by Riddler's Revenge.
  5. Link: rcdb.com/531.htm?t=291 The interesting note is the story is based on Greek mythology but Apollo's Chariot is in a Roman/Italian section of the park. Also, my 150th post! As you're probably well aware, the Greeks and Romans basically had the same Gods, just with different names, but Apollo was known by the same name by both the Greeks and Romans .
  6. Death toll now up to 5, many people with life threatning injuries in the hospital. This is some scary stuff especially since when I go to concerts I'm always right up at the front...
  7. Thanks for the update! I've always considered BGW my "home park" even though I don't live anywhere near it, it's the park I've been to the most and it holds a special place in my heart.
  8. I'm in the same boat, I want to design roller coasters for a living. I'm currently attending the University of Maine to get a degree in mechanical engineering and I'm constantly on the lookout for internships.
  9. My season started in March but here where my firsts: First Park: Islands of Adventure (March 29) First Coaster: The Incredible Hulk First New Park: Dorney Park (June 2) First New Coaster of 2010: Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit
  10. What I look for the most in a coaster is how well it's designed. Do the camelbacks actually produce airtime? Are the helix's forceful? Does the first drop make your stomach come up in to your throat? That kind of stuff. I also love coasters that are themed. Walking through a queue that's heavily themed gets me psyched up for the ride and even if the coaster isn't that fantastic, the themeing makes up for it.
  11. Hey Everyone! I've been reading these boards and perusing the site for a few years and just now decided to create an account! I'm 19 years old from Maine, currently attending college. My interests include golf, hockey, and of course, roller coasters. I don't have a home park, the closest is SFNE which is about 5 hours away. My count is up to 91 but I'm hoping to break 100 before the summer's over. I've been looking for an internship at a park for the last couple of months but I'm coming up empty, so if anyone has had any experience in the past with internships I would greatly appreciate any help!
