im sure this is alredy a post, but i do not have enough time to go through 50+ pages. how far of a drive is sfgam from chicago? is it close enough to go for more than one day when your hotel is in chicago, or is it too of a drive to even consider getting there within a day?

As the crow flies, it's only a 40 mile drive. Time-wise it truly depends on what day of the week you travel, what road, and what time. I live in Northwest Indiana and I have gotten to Great America (70+ miles from me) in as little as an hour and ten minutes, and as long as two hours and twenty minutes. I can give you a better estimate if I know exactly where in Chicago you are heading from and what highways you are close to.
