tilt a whirl = Waltzer

Recommended Posts

Was the "tilt a whirl" the original Waltzer ride which is used in travelling fairs.?

Does a "tilt a whirl" spin as fast as a waltzer..?

What's the best one you have been on..?

If you were an operator on a "Waltzer" and someone you knew or someone you did not like rode it, would you spin it faster than normal so the ride lives up to it's name:

Spin n Puke

It has been a good while since I have been on a Tilt-A-Whirl, but they are pretty much the same. While in the UK last week, I rode three of the Waltzers with the best one being at South Pier near Blackpool. What made it especially thrilling was the ops that would hop from platform to platform spinning the cars by hand.

If there is any difference between the two, the Waltzers seem to have a lower center of gravity which makes multiple spins a more common occurence.
