Angry_Gumball Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Today, our art class took a trip to a local abandoned cemetary to create an earie drawing and to brush up our still-life drawing and perspective skills. I decided, "Hey, I'll bring the camera incase I don't finish drawing it or shading it." So I did. I figured from there that I'll make a PTR out of it. This cemetary is somewhat maintained but no one visits it anymore to pay respects to lost loved ones. A result of that is a leaf-covered crooked grave stoned quiet bug-infested cemetary. Gravestones were cracked and actually re-planted where they fell of. Walkways were shifted up and down, all uneven...at some points, the ground was just leaves filled with spiders. So, onto the photos of what it looked like and what I was drawing. I was hoping for more pictures so you could get a feel of the place but my batteries died shortly after taking these few pix. All and all, it was a relaxing session of class, except the fact that I had mosquitoes landing on me like crazy...which I learned a new use for my metal ruler: A fly swatter! Mr. Lizard says "G'bye!" OMG!! LIZARD!!!!11!!one!!1 Here's what I had started...My perspective skills were cookin' today! Same shot, in B&W for drawing purposes. No, I'll do this. I'm in the shade, you can see the cracked stone that was most-likely replanted on it Hmm...do I draw this?? Nah.. Was I standing at a slant or is this grave stone crooked? (I held my camera level with the rest of my body) A bunch of stones baking in the sun
Luxo Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 "I don't wanna be buried, in a pet sematary..." Sorry, it reminded me of that song/novel/movie. If possible, please post the final product when you're done. I'd like to see it.
